My daughter is 3 and at that age, they can follow instruction but get distracted easily. Our instructor is so positive and helps to redirect and include all students to that they participate and grow in their skills. The lobby has great views of your child's class and plenty of seating. Cubbies hold your child's belongings and the school sells gear as needed. I can't wait for my daughter's first recital in December!

My kiddo just turned 2 and is in the tutu toddlers class (18m-3y). The teacher is great with the kids, and there's enough structure in the class for the kids to know what to do/expect next, but it's also very flexible for when toddlers inevitably don't follow directions. There's a warm up, ballet moves with lots of props (wands, feathers, ribbons, etc) to make it fun, a classical ballet story time, and a corresponding coloring page to end the class. Moms are welcome to be with kiddos at this age to help them through class. There's a play corner with a kids table, books, and blocks for before and after class, a kid (and baby) friendly restroom, and sitting area for parents too. There aren't as many mirrors as I would expect from a ballet studio (and no barre?) but my kiddo doesn't need either of those.

The special activities planned throughout the year were thoughtful and enriching for the children. My only concern is management's communication with parents. At times my questions and concerns were met with a tone that felt dismissive rather than collaborative, and I've heard similar feedback from a few other parents. This created unnecessary worry and made it harder to feel like true partners in my child's care. While the classroom experience was excellent, leadership would benefit from clearer, more respectful communication and a stronger focus on working together with families. It's clear there is a lot of heart in running this school, and I hope these improvements can make the experience even better for future families.

I was spoken to harshly on multiple occasions for things like driving into the parking lot from the wrong entrance and bringing my daughters in too close to the cut off time for drop off. I understand the need to keep a tightly run ship, but overreacting by disrespecting parents is so unnecessary and hurtful. I would recommend that Toni and the rest of the staff focus more on communication with families and learn to deliver messages with kindness rather than scolding parents. I would not bring my children here as the inconsiderate attitude is just bad energy that filters through any organization, reaching classrooms, teachers, and the unfortunately your children.

AMAZING! Hands down would recommend this place 100 times over. I found out about Renaissance after…read morea mama overheard my conversation about pulling my child out of another preschool and approached me, stating that her children went to Renaissance years ago and she could not rave about it enough. I was very nervous about enrolling our children in school at all after some of the things we previously experienced (was considering homeschool). I figured I would at least tour after her glowing recommendation. Long story short, my children run to school every. single. day. They rarely remember to say bye. They adore this place. Renaissance has far exceeded my expectations. The teachers and staff...chef's kiss, they always go above and beyond. They are incredibly nurturing, always appear to be very present, intentional, and joyful but also firm (the children love and respect them). The way they teach these children to advocate for themselves and simultaneously care for others while appropriately processing social situations is really impressive, the parent community they have helped foster is awesome, and communication with parents has been great. The cultural diversity amongst staff and the celebration of cultural diversity is phenomenal. The displays they create for the different cultural heritage months, the on-site field trips, the programs, the festivals... Their emphasis is not academics, though in my experience they do ensure your child is on grade level. However, your child will likely walk away from the school with social skills and a general appreciation for others that will far exceed those of their peers. In the tour, the admissions coordinator said that was their bread and butter, and they really delivered. I am so grateful for the mama that introduced me to this beautiful place... my children have blossomed.

Renaissance Montessori is excellent -- small, friendly, and reasonably priced. My two year-old…read moredaughter began attending in 2017, and my son attended from ages 4-5 during 2013-2014. There was of course some staff turnover during our hiatus between children, but the atmosphere has stayed the same, some familiar faces are still around, and the new folks are great too. We're very happy with both the teachers and the administrative staff. All of the classrooms, even the toddler rooms, follow Montessori guidelines for play and learning, and help teach life skills and independence. Highly recommended.
