The boutique was smelling so nice inside, many of the oil fragrances were there throughout the store. Most of the stuff here was different and unique but was way pricier compared to other boutiques. So far, Chloe Dao is my favorite fashion designer in Houston. Although familiar with the brand for…read moreyears, I became more acquainted with the brand's sophisticated style and offerings while visiting the old location on Kirby in the West Village during the height of the pandemic. Some of the designs are minimal and some are more complex and elaborate (borderline maximalist). I love purses and tote bags, so the Silver Geo Tote Bag (the one pictured) really appealed to me because it doubles as both a purse and tote. The silver tint, combined with the futuristic shapes (squares, circles, rectangles) made for a unique, timeless look. While shopping at the old Kirby location, I would also occasionally purchase face masks. Dao's designs, as usual, were just incredible. Regarding the boutique, what I really love is the idea that this boutique could exist anywhere - New York, California, Chicago or Houston. Hopefully the new location on Shepherd captures the same excellence and good vibes of the old West University location. I always found service at the boutique to be really good and helpful. And value-wise, pricing is legit and reasonable in my experience. For me, this is one of the top boutiques, not only in Houston, but the country. Recommendation(s): Accessories or Apparel Service and Selection: 5/5, Both Tips: - Online shopping at the Chloe Dao website - The boutique may have special items not online - The staff is good re: answering questions - Inquire about possible custom designs

I'm not going to say that there's anything terribly wrong with that, I've found a few moderately cute items here, it's just TOO "trendy." A "boutique" full of chain store clothing. For example, I've seen a number of LuckyBrand items. All cute and well made, but while on sale in the Lucky stores, they are full price in Rendezvous. Hmmm. If you have an aversion to the under 20 set, I wouldn't recommend this store. The majority of employees and shoppers, save their mothers, are on average 18 years old. It's worth a walk through if you're in the area, but not worth the drive from The Galleria. Oh, and just a note in reference to "Fashion C's" review, while Free People and Betsy Johnson have great designs, the clothes are a bit over-priced for the poor quality of their clothing. Made to last one season. So if you can catch them on Rendezvous' sales rack, you're in for a moderate deal. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just a note (didn't want to really "update" the review): it appears that Fashion C's review is gone, however my comment about the designer's poor quality still stands.

Perhaps not the most tasteful thing to have on the set, and yet there it is. The clothes are trendy, okay priced, but not wonderfully made. Given that it was a special event (Mistletoe Madness), you would've thought that they'd hire more help. They were disastrously understaffed and one "changing room" was not cutting it. The quotation marks around the word "changing room" are there because it was really just a bathroom. And evidently there was some mysterious and elusive list that you had to get on to use the bathro, err. . .dressing room, but none of the sales associates bother even offering to put my name on the list even as I sat there with a dress in my hand waiting by the bathroom door. They do have a smaller men's section that contains seemingly only British style button-down shirts. Many of them were a bit on the girly side with way too much floral work, but that seems to be all the rage with hipsters so I'm sure they do well. Evidently they also have another store in the Woodlands (or was it Katy?) that carries the same stuff. While the clothes were pretty cute, some of it was a bit out there and it was much too trendy for my tastes. I just cannot justify spending that much money on something that is such a fashion statement and will be "out" next season.
