This an older small gas station/grocery store with a deli in the back. They have a different featured meal every weekday. They do sell guns and have taxidermy hanging inside the store. The food has always tasted great and the line to get the food goes fast. They have a place to sit inside and outside. You get a ticket for the food if you eat inside you can eat and then pay at the register when leaving. The people that work there are always nice. read more

Ok food here, it seems like a lunch crowd type of place as there wasn't many options left later in the day. The ribs and and green beans were good, the shrimp wasn't fresh in my opinion. read more

You don't go for the ambiance, you go for the great food! Fed an army with some of the BEST BBQ I have found in the area. It is very out of the way, but well worth the drive. The customers and employees were all welcoming and very fiendly. Chicken gizzards are the best in the area, perfectly cooked. Smoked chicken and beef ribs had great smoke flavor. We came here because we were hungry! My friend took me here because we have never eaten here before. When you first pull up the place looks like a hole in the wall out in the middle of nowhere and hope we don't get kidnapped. When you walked in it is a unique experience. They have guns in the front counter, magazines on the side for your guns, car oil down the aisle and the bbq restaurant in the back. Everything looked good. We ended up getting three boxes of food. My order consisted of bbq ribs, bbq chicken beans and scallop potatoes. The verdict is: ribs good. No sauce, moist and smoked. The chicken also very good. Scallop potatoes I could of done with out and the beans were also very good. I forgot to take a pic of my food because I was a hungry animal. I'd go back for sure! read more

We were referred by a friend. This place is a little off the beaten path but worth a visit. It reminds me of a gas station convenience store, gun shop and food truck rolled into one. Ribs are smoked to perfection. Different Latin lunch options were also good. Fried chicken strip, greens, steak fries. Gas station, convenience store and restaurant - I was happy with the fact that I came across Carter's Grocery when I did as I was on fumes driving back to Vero Beach from Sebring, Florida. Gas was a tad bit higher than normal - $2.49/9 a gallon for regular but when you're "on walk" you don't complain much. I wasn't that hungry but since everyone else seemed to be eating, I ordered the home cooked fried chicken plate along with Cowboy caviar - field peas, black beans, corn and fresh veggie dip - with chips and crackers. Huge portions and great taste. Dinner roll on the side. I took it "to go" and ate it on the way home. No time to dine at the restaurant when traveling. Restrooms were outside toward the back. They weren't anything to write home about, but they served the primary - and number 1 - purpose. Unbelievably huge portions of Southern comfort food, with excellent flavor, and incredibly low prices. I had the fried chicken plate for lunch, which cost $4.95. It included a chicken breast which was really about half a chicken, two heaping sides (I chose black-eyed peas and sautéed squash, but there were many choices), and a dinner roll. I ate as much as I could and still have at least one full meal if not two for leftovers. My only complaint is that they were out of catfish, cheese grits and greens. Conveniently, you can buy groceries, guns, ammo, knives, liquor, over-the-counter drugs, wine, and propane at the same location. read more

This place is AWESOME!!!! The first time I went there, I came in hungry, left stuffed! I had a fried chicken breast (enormous I might add) green beans and french fries with a drink for under $7.00. I also bought a rib to sample it, WOW!! They sale guns and ammo too! I have since been back on a sunday and had the "10oz 100% Angus Cheese Burger." That was THE BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER EATEN!
