I spent $268 at Nursery Rhymes last week and was incredibly disappointed with the customer service…read more After my purchase, I needed to exchange a pair of $34 baby booties for a larger size. The item was unworn, in pristine condition with tags still attached, and I had the original receipt. Despite that, I was told they would not order the correct size and that exchanges weren't possible for a different size. Instead of doing the right thing and issuing a refund, I was only offered store credit--so in addition to having to find the booties somewhere else and paying yet more out of pocket, I was stuck in their store - losing money with a store credit if I chose something under $34 (plus tax) or being forced to spend more if I picked something over. No flexibility, no effort to help. Thankfully, another boutique was able to order and ship the exact same booties in the needed size for just $23.11 (including tax) -- over $11 cheaper than what I paid at Nursery Rhymes. The staff was politely rude and made it clear they didn't care whether they kept my business. A friend of mine who dealt with this store felt the same way --clearly, this isn't a one-off issue. In today's world, where consumers have endless options online, local stores must understand that customer service is everything. If you make it hard to do business with you, people won't--and you will lose customers. Sadly, despite wanting to make future purchases for the new little girl in our family, I won't be returning, and I'd recommend shopping elsewhere if you're looking for quality service and fair policies.

The 1st time I bought several items and a couple of them did not work out, so I returned them in the bag, tags still on, never used with receipt. I remembered the petite lady working there from the first visit because she was very unfriendly. And, she was the same this time. I'm not sure if she's the owner or not. She said that they don't offer refunds, only store credit, and said that I had a credit of $54 and some change. So, I found some things that the baby could use and ended up paying a little more. When I looked at the receipt she had only given me a $50 credit. I guess it's not a huge deal but it was not the way I would treat my customers. Abs, I've worked in customer service for years. Needless to say, I will not return to that store. They apparently don't need my business and they are way overpriced anyway. There are much nicer places like Sweet Dreams in Madison and Little MS Sew & Sew in Flowood.

You could get a SCALE or…read moretwo in that bargain center and start WEIGHING and selling things by the pound 1.99, like the goodwill bins on Center street in Ridgeland, and make it fair to all that shop here instead of a few select CHOSEN regular people that constantly get deals, you can see them slow walking to the counter after everyone is gone... or waiting on the side to get a deal, people aren't stupid, this is basic math, you can't shop here everyday if you are not getting deep deals on items. MAKE IT FAIR FOR EVERYONE. Without Quincy, Steve, Tasha and the nice lady that answers the phone in the office you wouldn't have a business because the cashiers would kill off your business in less than 30 days. The Lord has blesses you with free stuff to help the people and BE A BLESSING TO THE COMMUNITY. You are not a retail store, you are a bargain store... but your junk is HIGHER THAN RETAIL. Most charity thrift shops are 501C tax exempt taking in free donations. If ROSS, WALMART & DOLLAR TREE sell vases from 1.25 and up, why would you sell vases used, out of the trash boxes in the back at $5 and up? Nobody shops here for retail prices. You would make more money consistently by doing buggy or bundle sales, offering 20 items for $30, 30 items for $40 you would move the stuff out of your junk store faster that way then trying to rob the people at the register with high prices. There are many resellers in this state that shop stores like this to get cheap merchandise to supplement their income, or local artist like myself looking for things to redo or recycle... I'm not looking for expensive TRASH to make art with. The thrift store a half a mile away have prices posted and sell all clothing items under $5, lamps under $6 shoes $4, books .50, while you gouge. A few of the ladies that work the register are rude and they get pleasure out of quoting ridiculous prices for junk. But they are stabbing your business to it's death. A woman tried to charge me $10 for a sweater and $7 for some cup saucers, I told her to keep the stuff. What she was trying to charge me for a few things others get for a whole cart. BUT WHEN I CHECKED THE BILL ON THE ITEMS THAT I DID GET - SHE HAD OVERCHARGED ME $5 - I have been over charged several times in this place - what she stole from me she actually stole from the LORD who gave it to me, the LORD rebuke her. Another time I was there I had 3 thin paperback children's books and I was charged $1 a book, it should have been 3 for $1. THIS IS SHAMEFUL. May the Lord turn the tables over on this place. I pray that you will stop price gouging and ripping people off in the name of charity.

If you are a father that wants to dress shop with your daughter you may want to choose a different…read morestore! I help my daughter dress shop every year and she loves for me to be involved. We were greeted as we walked in the door and was ask about price range and color she wanted. As we walked to the rack to look at dresses I was ask to please go back to the front of the store because there are dressing rooms everywhere in the main area of the store. My wife could shop with her but not me. So how is a dad supposed to shop with his daughter at this store? The girl went through the rack and picked the dresses she thought my daughter would like. I'll never spend over 500 on a dress without even being able to look on the rack at all they have to offer. It also makes no sense to make me stay by the front door! Because If you see the lay out of the store you can still see every dressing room! It's one big room. Trust me when I say this is not a dad friendly store. I went to the truck and my wife let her try on a few but she couldn't get over me being ask to stay by the front door and wouldn't buy anything from them. Sad because we dealt with a lady last year that let me be very involved and we paid good money for dresses in the past there. Never again!! I was made to feel like a creepy guy just for walking into a store to shop with my daughter! Maybe it's time to change the lay out of the store if you don't want guys in the main shopping area due to the placement of your dressing rooms.
