I really liked Dr. Carter as a doctor. She spent a good amount of time listening to me as a patient, and worked to come up with a solution to health problems I was having.
HOWEVER, Her office hours are whack. They are open from (I believe) 8am-3pm weekdays only. Any working individual knows some of the massive limitations of these hours, as it pretty much requires that you take time off work anytime you need to come in to see her. As a teacher in Tampa (hours 7:30-3:30), I always had to take time off work to come to her office. Even one late day a week, or occasional weekend hours would have appeased me as a patient. I understand it is her prerogative as a business owner to set her own hours, but unfortunately they might present a barrier to other working professionals like myself. The receptionist actually seemed baffled when I called and requested an alternate appointment time, and incredulously said "Don't they have substitute teachers so you can come in?" Of course they do, but any professional wants to take time off only when necessary, and as a teacher, I don't like having to be absent from my students for a day for only a 30 minute appointment. That's just silly.
If these hours work for you, you will probably have no problems with Dr. Carter or her office, but I simply could not work with an office with such limiting hours for working people. read more
