Looked to Yelp to help me find a tour that worked for us and happy to find Tahoe Lake Tours! Booking online was easy enough. Looking on Wednesday for a Friday morning time slot and there it was: 9:30-1:30 was perfect. The web site states exactly what will happen during the 4 hours and offers a phone number to call for questions. Parking and check in were easy and Captain Dan was ready for us. The boat was clean and well stocked with life jackets that fit for both adults and children (ages 8,6,4) as well as water bottles. Before leaving the dock we were offered water for a cooler which we didn't need but the offer was appreciated. Our 4 hours: 1. Safety information 2. Review of our preferences for the tour 3. Lots of history of the area as we toured 4. Emerald Bay & Mrs. Knights castle 5. Water tubing (first time for the grandkids) 6. Hang out time for a snack (we brought lots LOL) 7. Back to the marina Dan was very knowledgeable and great with the kids. We would definitely book with Tahoe Lake Tours again and request Captain Dan. Thank you for a great ending to our week in Tahoe!

Captain Troy was accommodating, kind, hospitable, professional and knowledgeable. He took us to breathtaking sites including Emerald Bay, Fannette Island, Vikingsholm, and Rubicon Bay. We enjoyed swimming in the crystal water and never felt rushed. He provided swim floaties, a cooler with cold beverages, and let us take our time to have so much fun. He even called in advance to accommodate a better start time to ensure we had the best weather. We could not have asked for a more perfect day. Booking was easy and he answered all my questions beforehand. We highly recommend this company.

We ended up choosing Tahoe Experience because Bret was so positive, patient, and offered great prices. On the boat, we had Chris, a freelance captain who works with Bret. Chris was a joy to be around. He was super relaxed, funny, and kind. He took great care of us during our boat rental. The ride to Emerald Drive took about 30 minutes, and we spent an hour there before heading back. Sadly, I got hurt while paddleboarding. It was all my fault since it was my first time. Chris helped me out of the water, took care of my scrapes, and drove us back to shore safely. He even gave us the closest emergency hospital details and offered to refund half of the agreed amount. We were so grateful for his help and really appreciated his kindness. Bret texted me to check in and say he was sorry about what happened. Bret and Chris are truly amazing people to work with. Even though I was at fault, we had a blast meeting Chris and having him as our captain. I definitely plan to reach out to Bret again when I visit Tahoe in the future and would highly recommend his services to anyone who comes to the area.

We were in SLT for a week and had already planned on going to apple hill, so when I saw this tour offered by our resort, I jumped all over it. They have modern luxury small buses. The seats are extremely comfortable and the ride was smooth. The driver, John, narrated the whole trip with history of the areas and photo opportunities. A picnic lunch was provided at one of the wineries, with sandwiches potatoe salad, fresh salad and a variety of beverages. If in south lake Tahoe, and you do not want to deal with the traffic and maps, try this company out. They were on time picking us up, they totally accommodated both my wife and being disabled. Will be back next year.

The driver ignored the authorized point of contact and accepted unauthorized instructions, causing confusion and missed portions of the wedding timeline. The company's response afterward did not acknowledge responsibility and instead focused on justifying the situation. If you're considering Discover Lake Tahoe Tours for a wedding or any event where timing matters, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. I hired this company for my wedding transportation and made it explicitly clear that we had a strict schedule. From the beginning, there were administrative issues that should have been a red flag. I was initially sent the wrong contract for an entirely different group, which raised concerns about their attention to detail. Then, just three days before the wedding, I received an email suggesting we move the initial pickup location away from the valet area off hotel property --making my guests walk further. The result on the day of the event was a disaster. After getting my wedding pictures taken on the way out I found Twenty-six of my guests standing waiting 35 minutes after the shuttle was supposed to have left with them. I then had to personally drive around the resort with my new bride searching for the shuttle. When I finally located the driver, he was sitting in a back parking lot playing on his phone. I was extremely frustrated at this point and did speak to him in an aggressive tone once he dropped everyone off at the reception. When I confronted him, he claimed the lady in charge had instructed him to delay the pickup. There was in fact no lady in charge. He could not and can still not give me a name of this "lady in charge". He never made any effort to contact me--the only person he had been communicating with and the only person authorized to approve any changes--to verify this instruction or confirm a schedule change. Instead, he simply acted on it without question, leaving my guests waiting and completely disregarding the agreed-upon plan. Because of this unnecessary delay, my guests didn't leave the venue for approximately 40 minutes after they were supposed to. We missed our cocktail hour, paid our DJ $350 per hour to perform in an empty room, delayed approximately $5,000 worth of food, and created unnecessary stress and confusion on what should have been one of the most important days of our lives. What made the experience even worse was the company's response afterward. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told that this was a "brand new bus," which has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the driver ignored the agreed-upon schedule and accepted directions from someone who had no authority to change it. I was also told that he could have charged me an additional $100 because the service exceeded the two-hour booking. The only reason it exceeded two hours was because of the driver's own mishandling of the schedule. To top it off, they complained that they usually receive additional tips--even though I had already been required to prepay a mandatory $100 gratuity. As the customer who paid $800 for this 2 hour service, I expected professionalism, communication, and adherence to the timeline we agreed upon. Instead, I spent part of my wedding day searching for my own shuttle while my guests waited. The lack of accountability was every bit as disappointing as the original mistake. Rather than apologizing and making things right, the company chose to make excuses and imply that I should have been grateful they didn't charge me even more. I cannot recommend Discover Lake Tahoe Tours to anyone planning a wedding or other event where reliability, communication, and professionalism are essential.

He has an incredible knowledge of Virginia City and Northern Nevada history, but he shares it in a way that's engaging, funny, and easy to follow. His sense of humor was the perfect mix of clever and classic jokes, which kept both the adults and the kids entertained! Before we even stepped into the mine, Gary sat us under a tree and told the story of Virginia City and The Comstock Load. I've lived in Northern Nevada for years, and he still taught me things I had never heard before! It was a great reminder of just how much fascinating history we have right here in our own backyard. I also appreciated how patient and thoughtful he was with everyone in our group, especially the children and those who needed a little extra time walking through the mine. He made sure everyone felt included. As a bonus, Gary is also an author! I ended up buying one of his books (I collect children's books for my office), and he has written other books too. I may have to buy the others with my next visit. Whether you're visiting from out of town, or you've lived here for years, the Chollar Mine Tour is absolutely worth experiencing. We had booked a private tour for his birthday to meet the rescue animals who call this beautiful place home. Yasmin met us at the entrance and, after swapping shoes for some solid boots, gave us a very honest, very real, and very important rundown of industrial agriculture. Now, I have to add, neither of us are vegan or even vegetarian, but Yasmin proved to be an actively non judgmental, compassionate host. She walked us through the grounds, addressing each animal by name, and was full of knowledge and insight! After the initial meet and greet, we were off! We hiked across the beautiful grounds and met tons of sheep (Jet loved my partner!) goats, and pigs; all of the animals roam freely, coming and going as they please. It was actually delightful how so many of the animals came up to say hi and hang out out of their own volition! We brought some grapes for the chickens and they LOVED them! But oh my god, the turkeys. Wow, just, two little friendly, fluffy orbs that floated around our party showing off while Yasmin gave us an informed and empathetic story about them. She did that at every habitat; letting us in, introducing us (by name!) to the boldest of the bunch, and explaining how they ended up at Animal Place. It was an entirely wonderful, enlightening experience. Also, fyi, turkeys are so soft. I cannot recommend this organization enough. 10/10, please give Conrad an extra treat for me!
