I genuinely did not feel comfortable continuing to eat it because I was concerned about the quality and safety of the food. What made the situation even worse was the response from management. I called extremely upset to explain what I had been served, and the manager's only response was basically, 'Okay, okay, okay.' I had my first visit to Carrot Express and it honestly exceeded my expectations. My boyfriend and I stopped by to eat after our run, and from the moment we sat down, everything felt welcoming. While we were there, Mario (the owner) came over and asked how our food was and what brought us in. When we told him it was our first time, he was genuinely surprised and so kind about it. He even let us try their carrot cake on the house--which was AMAZING. The food itself was fresh and delicious, but what really stood out was the service. That level of attentiveness and warmth made the whole experience feel special and is definitely what will bring me back. Overpriced and not very tasty. In an area with so many healthy options, this is not one that I would return to. My little wrap was about 20 dollars and barely had any egg whites. It was way too hot and all ingredients seemed to be precooked. I had to wait 20 minutes to let it cool down. They added way too much cheese which didn't make it feel healthy at all. I pop into Carrot Express every now and then and I'm typically pretty satisfied with my choices. Today I wasn't really hungry but my friend was so I just got the pistachio croissant that I'd been wanting to try. The one on display has some pistachio butter on top and then actual crushed pistachios. I was given one with no crushed pistachio so when I came back in to grab my water, I told the young lady there weren't any pistachios on it, she said it's on the inside. I said no I mean crushed pistachios. She turned and walked off and didn't say anything. I went out to get it and came back in. Someone who I'm assuming was a manager asked if I was being helped, I let her know what the issue was so the same young lady who took our initial order explained something to her in Spanish. I then point out mine versus the display. She immediately understood what I was asking and had another one given to me. I went on to sit out on the patio and enjoy the nice day and scenery while chatting it up with my friend. In terms of taste it was very fresh, but the pistachio butter was very pistachioey (If that makes sense) The initial disregard is the reason for my rating. read more

Carrot Express in Midtown is a solid spot if you're looking for healthy, tasty food. The Mediterranean salad I had was excellent--super fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. You can really tell they use quality ingredients. The place itself is spotless, which is always a huge plus. Clean tables, clean floors, and an overall good vibe. The only downside was the speed of service. We were a group of three, and while my salad came out fairly quickly, the rest of my family had to wait quite a while for their meals. I was nearly done eating by the time theirs arrived. So if you're eating with others, just know timing might be a bit off. Still, worth it for the quality of the food. I was walking in midtown shops. I knew that I had to give it an try. The vegan picadillo bowl was delicious. It was bursting in flavor. It wasn't too heavy as well. It was exactly what was needed. This carrot express was so clean and the atmosphere was happy. I didnt know they had one at these shops! I stopped in and decided to try something new-- the legal wrap. It is the best thing ive tried from there! it was sooo good, It had juicy chicken, melted cheese, beans, rice, and a delicious chipotle sauce to put on top! I love how they press the wraps to make them hot! The price is worth it for the quality of food youre getting! The service team was quick and efficient. read more

Today was my third time coming back to this place and I love how many healthy delicious vegan options they have. The green goddess salad, the falafel wrap and the sweet potato carrot soup are like in a gourmet restaurant! Great ambience and music. Today I had a little issue with my veggie burger, I let them know (not to complain cause even like this it was good), just so they will be aware of it next time. They immediately offered a refund, I told them it's no big deal, I don't want it. Then they offered me a free meal for next time I come in. How kind of them. I believe some mistake can happen in even at the top restaurants.. so when there's a place where they are trying hard to correct their mistakes that's an absolute winner for me. I had high hopes for Carrot Express but honestly it was just average, at best. We had take out so this review is mainly for the food. They were out of salmon at 2pm so I ended up having a quinoa breakfast bowl which was lacking flavor and seasoning. We also ordered a chicken platter which my husband said was just okay, and my daughter had a mezze plate, which she also said was just okay. She didn't finish her food and she always finishes her food, so that says a lot. 3 meals + 2 drinks was $54 which wasn't terrible. What is going on that every time I try to order they tell me the juicers are already cleaned, salads are put away, we close at 8:50 PM, the list goes on and on!! it is so maddening!! First of all why does Carrot express closing at 9 PM in Miami in the first place ???!! I feel like we live in Nebraska with all these absolutely reduced hours. I come out of a workout class and there's literally nowhere to eat anymore fast and healthy. You are missing a huge customer base by closing so early. I see customer after customer going in and out disappointed that they cannot get food and none of the employees seem to give a crap they just wanna get the hell out of there so they give themselves time to clean during business hours. I have been to this place two times and I can tell the food is really good. I love the variety of healthy and vegan options. They have 4-5 different types of veggie burgers to select from and they come with a side (salad, fries, smash potatoes) They also have salads, sandwiches, bowls, and fresh smoothies. We had the portobello burger and the chicken platter and both were great. They use fresh ingredients for the smoothies so they do take a while but it is worth the wait. Location is pretty cool, next to other restaurants and stores. They have outside seating and you can park on the street (pay to park) or in the available parking garages. I used to eat here a couple times a week when I was working nearby on a project. The food was always very good, and healthy--which I try to be big on. Hadn't gone for a couple years until the other day and found it to still be good, fresh and wholesome--just a little more expensive than it used to be. I would say the food is predictable, nothing surprising and out of the ordinary and you get pretty much exactly what you would expect when the menu arrives. The Mahi Mahi lacked any seasoning at all and the dressing was enough to taste fine but nothing that blew me out of the water. (I used the little salt packet and pepper packet that come with utensils- I can't think of the last time I ever used those.) The food is clearly very fresh. It's easy to find something you'll enjoy eating if you enjoy vegetables and the true flavor of fresh ingredients, so order based on what ingredients you love. I adore carrot cake and I'll say this is one of the best I've had. The cake is moist and flavorful, chunky and cakey, and there's a great ratio of frosting to cake. There's a nice brown sugar crumble stuck to the outside edge that gives it a fun crunch too! The staff is friendly and super nice, though somewhat distracted doing prep. I love Carrot Express. While I typically go out of my way specifically to grab a Blue Magic smoothie, I've never had anything I haven't liked. Love their soups. Love their wraps and bowls. Love their avocado toasts. Today I added a sunny side up egg to one of the toasts and asked for it well done. Lorena brought it to the table and when my cousin pointed out that it wasn't the way I'd asked, I was going to just let it be. Lorena insisted on taking it back to the kitchen and making sure it was right and honestly it was much appreciated bc I really don't like runny eggs! After running 100 miles thru downtown Miami and Brickell Key (OK, just 3.1 miles / 5K) I stopped here for a healthyish dinner. I managed to get in right before closing time! I ordered their pesto chicken breast, with cilantro rice and pico de gallo. The dish originally came with avocado, and I asked for that to be substituted with a little more pico. That's kind of how at Flanigans I sub out the cole slaw for extra curly fries ;) That's why though I want to rate it higher, I can't. I didn't like the fact that I was hit with an "extra" charge (granted, just $1) for substituting more pico de gallo for the hideous vegetable (avocado) that comes with my main course. Nickel & diming isn't cool! Still and all, the chicken breast was a decent portion and tasted pretty good with the pesto sauce.
