The food here is so fresh! I came in and ordered takeout for 5 to 6 people, and overall we were very satisfied. I especially appreciated the woman who took our order. I wish I could remember her name. She was very helpful with the menu and patient when we asked for several items to be placed on the side so the burgers would not get soggy. That made a big difference. Here is a breakdown of what we ordered: Açaí bowl: Generous portion with a great combination of toppings. We asked for the granola on the side, which was definitely the right choice. The açaí itself was thick, not too sweet, and not watery. All of the fruit tasted fresh. Turkey burgers: The bun was delicious, and the burgers were flavorful and fresh. They come with a special sauce that we enjoyed. The lettuce, tomato, arugula, and avocado were all packed on the side, which worked perfectly for takeout. The only downside was that we ordered mozzarella cheese, and none of the burgers came with it. The sweet potato fries were excellent. Crispy with the perfect cut and a great pairing with the burgers. Black bean burger: A really solid veggie option. The patty held together well and did not crumble, which is often an issue with black bean burgers. It came with a spicy mayo that added great flavor, plus the same delicious bun and toppings on the side. Again, the only drawback was the missing mozzarella cheese. We also ordered sweet potato fries with this, and they were just as good. Chicken platter with brown rice, pico, and sweet potato: The chicken was a standout. Thin, juicy, and well seasoned with a great grilled flavor. It was not dry or bland at all. It paired really well with the pico, brown rice, and cilantro sauce. The sweet potato on this dish was just okay and nothing particularly special. We also tried some cookies, carrot cake, and juices, and everything was great. The only other concern was with the order pickup process. Multiple staff members came out with what they said was our completed order, at least three times, but each time items were missing. The first time I immediately mentioned that our order was much larger, and they apologized. It happened again with another bag that was still incomplete. In hindsight, I should have double checked everything more closely, especially since the mozzarella was missing from the burgers. Despite that, the food quality was excellent and we would return. One nice bonus was that they were running a 25% off promotion over the weekend. We did not know about it ahead of time, but it was a great surprise. I was told they run weekly specials, although I did not see any signage inside explaining the current promotion. The store itself is clean with a nice ambiance. Ambiance 4/5 I really liked the ambiance here. The restaurant felt very open and spacious but there was plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The inside was well lit with natural lighting from all the surrounding glass and the indoor lights. The menu is easy to see and the items are well displayed. Jessie's Breakfast Bowl ($15.99) 4/5 I really enjoyed this bowl. It was both healthy and tasted great. The avocado was seasoned perfectly with a bit of salt and pepper and along with the smooth texture made it my favorite part of the meal. Came here with a few friends. The store is very clean, well lit, and open. Providing a nice place to catch up with friends. We were able to get parking on the street out front, but I believe there is a parking garage nearby as well. When you get there, you order and pay at the register and then sit down, and they bring the food out to you. The food came out pretty quick, but they weren't too busy when we went. The food was filling and enough to share between two people. The power bowl had a great taste, and the carrot cake was amazing. The peanut butter cup smoothie didn't have a very strong peanut or chocolate flavor. I am not sure if it was the protein or the cocoa, but it was not my favorite smooth. The ambiance is a nice vibe. You go in, order, then they call you to get it. The chairs and tables are clean. There are also parking garages everywhere. The service was good. What was great about it was that I knew I was eating whole food that it was fresh. Nothing was pre packaged. I had the turkey burger bowl. It had pico de gallo, avocado, brown rice, and vinegarette. I also had the peanut butter smoothie with a hazelnut brownie. All of it was good over all. It had flavor and it was healthy. The reason why I gave a 4 star was due to the price. My bowl was 20$ and the total of my order was 50$. I know it was healthy and fresh, but I can't see myself coming regularly. If I am going to spend 50$, I would rather take my wife to a restaurant. They messed up three orders in a row, first one they didn't give the two for one special that we ordered, the second one was a chicken pesto bowl in which they forgot to put two ingredients in it, feta cheese and kale and the third order the rice was hard, the chicken was super dry and also forgot some ingredients from it. I tired to be forgiving with the first two orders but when the third order was messed up I had to write this review. The three orders were over a three week span. Went to this Carrot Express in Ft. Lauderdale. First thing, location is right in the center downtown FTL, so parking will be a pain or at least $6 on a weekday in a garage so definitely make it worthwhile. Right near the corner, you'll find this carrot express. The location is nice. The place was super clean. The bathroom was 10/10. The music was a bit loud, but vibing. Outdoor eating also available which was nice cause it was nice outside. The person taking our food was busy doing something and it took about 5 minutes for him to be ready for us. Meanwhile there was 3 other person doing random things. It was a weird first impression. Like they didn't want us to order. Maybe I should've been a little forward and possibly rude to get their attention. But once we ordered, they were kind. I got the blue magic which was surprisingly delicious. Felt like a good healthy oat cinnamon drink. I got the salmon poke bowl and it came out nice size, but I had to request for more spicy mayo sauce. The soy sauce was a bit too salty. I regret putting all of that sauce on the food. But the spicy mayo was phenomenal. The food was great and filling. I also got the white macadamia chocolate chip cookie which was massive, salty and sweet. All in all, the food was fantastic. I think those 3 items were like $45 with tip. read more
