I was in the ER overnight February 1-2 after falling in my bathroom and nearly cutting off the top of my ear, including cutting through the cartilage. This was my first visit to Carroll Hospital since moving to Westminster 5 years ago. I was impressed by the wonderful care, compassion, and professionalism of the doctors and nurses. I felt treated with kindness and patience and like "a person", not just a patient. Dr. O'Connell put 14 stitches in my ear and 2 staples in my scalp. The ear has healed beautifully. She referred me to plastic surgery, but she did such a careful job that I don't need it [see photo]. Thank you to the excellent staff. read more

We try to avoid this hospital whenever possible, but in an emergency one goes to the closest facility. Such was the case this week when my wife had severe intestinal pain. From the initial sign-in at the ER, where the admitting clerk yawned in our faces, to the triage nurse who abruptly stopped me from following my sick wife into the ER by shouting "patients only," the entire experience was frustrating and frightening. While the initial PA and emergency nurse were competent and compassionate, the nurse that came-in on shift change (Joyce) was more interested in eating her bagel than helping my wife. When I asked her to give my wife some pain meds, the nurse disappeared. I found her 15 minutes later coming back from the cafeteria with a drink. When my wife told the nurse she was cold, Joyce came in and threw--yes, threw--a package of socks at her and walked out. Unbelievable. The ER doctor (Dr. Siddabattula) was also curiously perplexed by the entire situation. We met him two hours after my wife received an ultrasound and an initial diagnosis that required 24 hrs of observation. The doctor had a difficult time explaining in English what he thought my wife's medical condition was. When I asked him a question about her stay, he merely smiled and uttered "you know insurance companies." ??? I will end this rant here. My wife was finally stabilized and released, but not before enduring 30 hours of nurses rushing into her ER/COU room asking her to verify her name and the reason for her admission. We hope to avoid returning to this place, but the next closest hospital is in Gettysburg. God, do we miss Johns Hopkins. (It would be nice if the hospital administrator cared enough to comment on these Yelps, but you can see by the other complaints below that that doesn't happen.) read more

Was seen by 3 doctors and none of them would check in on me nor would tell me their diagnosi. Spent one week because they couldn't get tubes in lung right The food was good very loud at night when patients are trying to rest and sleep did not get patients up to walk to avoid blood clots but this is only hospital doctor works out of but very nice staff they could have been understaffed no phone cells could not call out tv was off and on if I have to come back I guess I have no choice I like my Doctor read more

Arrived at the ER at 12:30 on a Monday (11.04.24). I asked and was told this is one of the busiest times. I was taken and sat in the back of the ER in the hallway til 18:00 when I was placed in an ER room. I was transferred to a permanent room on a third floor unit at 20:00. I was pleased with the timeline of these events considering the time I arrived and that my case was not critical. I was in the hospital for almost a week. I had a minor surgery that was successful. All staff in all departments were kind and professional. Care quality was always exceptional. The food was good and all areas of the hospital were clean. The TV in my room was an appropriate size for the distance from which I was viewing. read more

HORRIBLE FACILITY!!! Just hours after a car accident AND THE urgent care facility diagnosed my wife with a concussion/whiplash we were directed to the ER at Carroll. WE SAT FOR ALMOST 2 HOURS! All the while, my wife was denied water, pain meds, or even seeing a doctor. When I approached the nurse (who looked 12) she was immediately defensive...like I had done something wrong to her???? My wife, now I'm severe pain could bear no more. We had to leave. Every slogan about care or compassion is garbage!! Avoid this torture facility at all costs. read more

I stopped going to Carroll after their radiologist read my CT as having a thyroid that was normal in appearance, when in fact, I had my Thyroid removed in 2009 due to Thyroid Cancer. I ended up coming here today against my better judgement because I was low on gas and therefore couldn't get to Hopkins. Tonight all I received was a bunch of gaslighting and plain lying. At first they were going to admit me and then decided there was nothing they could do I just had to figure out how to deal with the pain that was coming from a mass in my stomach saying there was a good chance it would not go away. They finally decided to admit me only to give my at home meds and do nothing else. Tonight was frustrating, irritating, angering and so not worth the 7 hours I was there. Beware is all I can say. There are many better hospitals including Johns Hopkins, GBMC and even Mercy. Good luck if you decide to go to Carroll, just be sure you fight for your rights and ask questions. Last night my little grandson fever shot up to 106 he was having severe seizures. I of course went to the er to meet my son. I wasn't expecting to go back in the treatment room I had to bring my granddaughter with me who is 10 and autistic. The security guard as soon as I walked in threw us out because she is 10. He had no compation he was on a complete power trip. No she wasn't running around. She sat down looking at her iPad. I wasn't even allowed to find out how my grandson was doing. I was admitted to Carroll hospital for Atria Fibrillation, during the intake interview I was asked about alcohol consumption, I occasionally have a beer, after 2 days of treatment I was put on a new medication to help control the palpitations in my heart, this worked and I went into sinus rhythm, it was administered by a drip. The day before my discharge I was given an oral version and was told the drip would be phased out, But during my last night I nearly died becas of an overdose if this medication because my drip was never swooped out and I received overdose. They tried to convince me I was suffering from alcohol withdrawal , which is ridiculous as I have often gone weeks without taking a drink ! Never again will agree to be admitted to this hospital, I have heard hair raising story's from other people regarding there treatment here read more

On monday my father ended up in the emergency room, he took a pretty bad fall and banged his head, gashed wide open blood everywhere. My father has been a very heavy drinker since i was a child and ever since my mom passed he drinks more than a human being should even be able to drink to numb the physical pain and mental pain. As of this moment 6:47 pm 5/21/2023 he is in a hospital bed Hallucinating, trying to rip his iv's out because he hears mice in the walls and sees them, he is so confused he doesnt know who anyone is and hes seeing people that arent there because the nurses and/or who ever is in charge decided to take him off Librium days ago without even informing me. Now everyone knows alcohol withdrawal is one of the 2 that'll kill you, causes severe hallucinations and DT's, seizures = Death. Night nurse tells me they took him off it completely because he was to drowsy, day nurse says he should of never been took off it. Now is this how a Hospital is supposed to treat a 70 year old man? Why, because he has a horrible disease that i guarantee everyone reading this knows someone that is either in recovery, active addiction or has passed due to it. I am all that my father has. I am in charge of everything when it comes to him and his wellbeing. I just lost my mother who was my bestfriend my everything. Im not about to sit here day in day out and watch him suffer due to the ignorance of who ever is running this show. my boyfriend came in from the ambulance for passing out on the floor he had headaches and thought he was dying the hospital took his bed away and put him in a wheel chair since he "wasn't a priority and it was for emergency's" they then told me he was dehydrated and sent him home with in hours of him passing out they did not attend to him very well and classified this as dehydration then gave him nasuea medication. this was not from dehydration it was most likely from his low iron which we told them about and they did nothing for I do not recommend them they are very uneducated and will not be coming back make sure to research before coming read more

In July 2021, I was given the shabbiest patient care by the late night emergency room staff at Carroll County Hospital, Westminster, Maryland. I was minimized and dismissed by three ER staffers who have no business attending to patients. I was to be transported to Sinai Hospital because Carroll was not equipped to treat me. I waited 5 hours a transport that never arrived. When I questioned the 3 ER people on duty, they passed the blame onto Sinai and told me "Too bad, honey...that's the way it goes". I was later phone-interviewed by two different investigators who claimed the would do a thorough investigation. Today I received a basic form letter conclusion from the investigators. Here's their specific to my case "CYA" response paragraph: "We have completed a thorough investigation of your concerns to include examining the medical record and consulting with the staff involved. You expressed concerns related to communications, behavior and attitude. Unfortunately, there was difficulty in securing transportation arrangements and specific times. Please know that we work with contracted transportation companies and make best efforts to communicate updated details as they are provided. While we recognize that multiple changes are not optimal, it is beyond our control". Conclusion: No one did anything and never intended to genuinely investigate my concerns. Carroll Hospital's management covered their collective asses which is what I expected they'd do. I strongly urge anyone considering utilizing Carroll County Hospital to avoid it like the plague it is. Go to Yelp and Google reviews for a litany of complaint comments and Carroll's generic rubberstamp response to each unfavorable review. There are over 5 years of negative consumer remarks followed by Carroll's same old non-response response. Speaks volumes to me. read more

This hospital is the worse of the worse. My husband was a patient there and he was discharged, after treatment of sepsis, with a horrific left arm infection (wound) which has to have dressings changed often. They kicked him to the curb with no flow up care or dressing changes. They did set up home care with Home Care MD which is a Life Bridge Affiliate. Money flows from one to another ? I was never asked for a choice !They called our home and stated he must be "Home Bound" and no insurance would cover in order to get home care for dressing changes of his wound.. I followed up and NONE of this was true. YES my insurance did cover. Upon my contacting my insurer, they NEVER received any inquiry for authorizatuons from this Home Care MD place.Many people with disabilities, etc. with health problems receive home care and are mobile. I contacted a person name Kelly B in Patient Services she refused to give me her name for safety reasons, I guess all the Doctors, RNS, PA's, Tech's, Housekeeping, Administrative are NOT as important as Kelly B ? . As they, in fact, give their full name. In speaking with MD State Health& Mental Hygiene Offices they told me I have an absolute RIGHT to know whom I'm dealing with their Full Name. Disgusting if not negligence ! I take my dog to a better facility then Carroll Hospital Center. They have a horrible reputation throughout Carroll and other counties. read more

I recently went to the emergency department for an isolated traumatic injury. Covid has certainly changed the way everyone operates so I understood that distancing, etc would occur. I arrived about midnight and was promptly registered and triaged by the triage nurse. Soon after I was taken to the treatment area and sent for x rays. Within a reasonable time I was examined by the provider, advised of my x ray results, and included in the decision making process regarding further treatment options. I was also seen by a respiratory therapist and provided with take home equipment and instructions for use. The emergency department was moderately busy at the time of my visit. Multiple medic units were bringing patients in for treatment yet the staff addressed my needs in a timely fashion and provided professional, compassionate care. I was given discharge instructions, prescriptions, and advice to follow up if necessary with my primary care provider. Additionally, this hospital is CLEAN. That doesn't happen without hard work from the staff. In my mind it doesn't get better than this. read more

Waited 6 hours in the ER with a bacterial sinus infection for the young female "doctor" to prescribe me an inhaler because the antibiotics would've apparently given me a yeast infection. Went home days later and was taken care of accordingly, I wouldn't waste my time coming here again, they didn't do anything to help me I was still in pain and couldn't breathe and then had to buy over the counter medication. read more

I was driven to this ER by friends on a Saturday night 5 years ago after I severely dislocated shattered my ankle (in 3 places) at a roller derby event nearby. This was my first time ever breaking a bone as well as my first visit (and last) visit to this hospital. My friends and I sat in the waiting room for what felt like an eternity (over 4 hours); it took a while to get blankets, I was freezing my butt off sitting in a wheel chair with my left leg numb, swelling, and crooked like a field hockey stick. Luckily, I was not in any pain unlike many other patients surrounding me in the waiting room, some of them were in a car accident and one of them was having hellish appendicitis symptoms. The ER staff were noticeably harried and understaffed. The PA I saw had an abrupt, abrasive, absolutely unprofessional bedside manner. After the my leg was splinted following the X-rays, the PA tossed my CDs to me, he bluntly and in an unrefined manner stated, "you really f***ed your s*** up, you won't be able to drive...you need to make an appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon...you will need to have surgery." I had other questions since I never broke bones prior but, he seemed too busy, I suppose that's what google is for. When I was given my prescriptions for pain meds, they didn't even take the initiative to suggest any 24 hour pharmacies. I was given crutches that were set improperly but, I managed since I'm adept to using crutches from spraining my ankles more times than I can count. The only positive aspect of the visit was the efficient and helpful lady I spoke to in Medical Billing upon discharge. I didn't realize splint job on my leg was substandard until 4 days later when I visited the Orthopedic Surgeon at Inova Loudoun where they deciphered that the tight packing and overzealous wrapping caused my leg to break out in blisters, lesions, and the swelling was still very severe. The necessary Open Reduction Internal Fixation surgery had to be delayed almost 2 weeks since infection would be imminent. In the interim, a preliminary surgical procedure was scheduled the next day where my ankle was set under general anesthesia; external hardware installed to anchor my leg in place to prevent improper heeling. I wore this pain in my ass "erector set" for 9 days before it was safe for the ORIF which further hindered and delayed my road to recovery and independence. read more

i've had 3 surgeries at Carroll Hospital. Each time the entire staff (from administrative to professional) treated me with respect and kindness. My daughter had surgery there and had a good experience also. My feeling is if you treat others with kindness and respect, they'll treat you the same. read more

We got there around 7pm. My wife was in so much pain. 9 out of 10 pain. She's a Nurse Practitioner who has had 3 children, natural birth. So I believe her when she says she's in that much pain. We checked into the ER and waited. And waited. And waited. For about two hours. My wife was coming in an out of waves of excruciating pain. At some point a nice family came in and checked in a reception. They were very kind to the receptionist and asked to go back to see their dad and grandpa to which she gruffly said "uh, I hate this!" Loud enough that all eyes in the waiting room were on her but her security guard partner didn't bat an eye. This must be her normal behavior. It turned out it was normal behavior. I witnessed a patient tell a tech he was so hungry. The tech said "no trays have been delivered" and left it at that. No attempts to help the customer. I saw another lady who had to use the restroom and she asked the nurses/tech if there was another one and they kind a brushed her off and said "I can't do anything. There aren't many bathrooms in here". A doctor came into my wife's ER room and told her that her pancreatic cysts were improving. Which is great news for someone, but my wife wasn't there for, nor tested for, anything to do with her pancreas. The doctor was delivering her someone else's test results. Then a nurse tried to give my wife another patients medicine. It wasn't a serious or dangerous medicine but what if it was? And what if my wife wasn't a nurse practitioner who knows medicines well? Someone could really get hurt! There are some great people here. But they work in a trash heap. Dr Goldstein in the ER, Krystal in Radiology, Amber on 4th floor...amazing. But a far above average number of bad ones and others who accept the bad behavior. This is a systemic problem. This is a leadership problem. I've worked in hospitals all over the country most of my career and I really haven't seen a systemically bad culture in a hospital until now. Today is my sons 6th birthday and my wife is in the hospital and can't see him. And it has killed my heart. I took him to the hospital to see her. He had his new ghostbuster costume and was excited to show mommy. He and I walked through the main door and were greeted with "he can't be in here! He can't be anywhere in this hospital". Well, thank you Steve Goetz from Security. Next time you could have shown some kindness. You could have fucking said Hello. You could have said "I'm sorry but he's too young"Instead you made me and my son feel like second class citizens by barking orders at us from across the room without even acknowledging our humanity. You, sir, Steven Goetz of Carroll Hospital Security, are a piece of shit. I hope they fire you from Lifebridge. I hope you get famous from this review and everyone knows what a steaming pile of dicks you really are. Do NOT have your baby here! They will force you to see providers that are not in network with your insurance and you will owe large bills! It happened in 2015, they assured me it would not happen again this year when I tried to refuse service from Pediatrix Group, and yet here I am with more large bills! Carroll Hospital told me I could not refuse service from Pediatrix Group for any reason even though I tried to refuse before baby was even born. Pediatrix group has horrible untrustworthy billing practices (just google them) and yet you are forced to deal with them. My son took my wife to her colonoscopy early in the morning. I was on night shift and got home at 430 am. After very little sleep I drove to the hospital so my son could leave for work. When I walked in they informed me I was not allowed to enter due to my son already checked in. The rule was one visitor per patient per day. So the person who brought them must be the one who takes them home. So I ask what if the person who brought them need to leave like work, emergency, and etc. I was explained no one thought of that but the rule would stick. I called and talked to their customer care person and received the same message like they read it from a book. I explained they need to really look at the crazy rules they have in place. Crazy policies like this is why their rating is so low and Hospitals like JOHNS HOPKINS dont buy these places. read more

In October, my boyfriend took me here because I was having really odd abdominal pains. They suspected I had an ovarian cyst, and confirmed with ultrasound. The PA gave me a dose of pain killers and said I didn't need a prescription for any additional pain meds. I would just have to wait 6-8 weeks for the cyst to be absorbed. I got through the night, but was miserable and appeared to be getting worse over the next week. I went to Holy Cross some days later, and the doctor looked at my bloodwork from Carroll and told me he was pretty sure I had an infection as my white blood cell count was double the normal range. He said Carroll definitely should have caught that the number was so high. The cyst had ruptured and leaked over my abdomen, I ended up being in the hospital for three days. Last week, my boyfriend and I didn't learn our lesson and had to go to Carroll's ER again when he had really bad foot pain. The ER wait was much longer this time compared to our visit in October. They took an x-ray. When we saw the PA 3.5 hours later, she looked at his foot said it wasn't swollen (it was), said it didn't appear to be red (it did), the x-ray is normal and that she didn't think it could be gout... after three more days of pain, it was gout. We both ended up having to endure additional days of pain because the PAs at this hospital don't do the little things to rule out causes for a patient's pain. Simply looking at the results already provided in bloodwork would've shown my cyst had ruptured. And knowing the signs of gout and doing a uric acid test (which he was able to get at urgent care in half an hour) would've indicated by boyfriend did in fact have gout. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I've been here so many times in my lifetime and i swear I could drop dead and the doctors there would just say I'm slightly dehydrated and would just discharge me 20 minutes later. They've never helped anyone in my family, whenever I have to go there I always feel as if I get worse and practically bullied by the doctors and nurses due to them not believing me and acting as if they know more about me than I do. Which on paper maybe they can see my bones but when I say I'm in extreme pain and cannot breath I don't want to hear "well everything looks fine so just take some ibuprofen when you get home" easily the worst hospital. Even if I got my leg chopped off I wouldn't go there. Get nicer nurses who don't bully children and roll their eyes at you. Get more educated doctors without a god complex and maybe I'd consider going there for my chopped of leg. read more

When my primary sent me to the ER I knew I would be in for a long wait. Monday seems the day when everyone who was sick over the weekend find time to get medical treatment. Staff were great and the doctor was as attentive as an ER physician can be. I was admitted and while I had to wait an hour for a bed I was made as comfortable as possible. The nurses and other staff on 4 South were outstanding. They were genuinely concerned about my health and comfort and were always courteous and helpful. The food service and custodial staff were equally wonderful. Thank you for your outstanding service. read more

The Absolute Worst Place !!! Had a visit on November 13 due to some serious bruising that I couldn't explain. Had some blood drawn, given a prescription of penicillin and was sent on my way without a diagnosis. I was told the blood work will only be a couple of days but it's now December 2nd. I decided to contact the ER and a not so professional woman answered the call. I tried to tell her the reason for my call only to be cut off with "Hold on". Now 1 hour later I decided to hang up and call back only to have her yelling at me at the top of her voice saying that I am know longer in their system after November 13th and should contact medical records!! She was speaking so rudely and in a rushed way as if I was interrupting her. I again attempted to get my question answered and she started yelling "Ma'am you heard what I said, call medical records!" I couldn't believe the experience; I should've as the other reviews aren't so good. I've always gone to Lifebridge Health for any and everything and truly regret visiting this hospital. I can't get any answers about my visit but I promise you Cigna has them all as they are holding the cash !! To the (not so professional) woman answering ER calls today, Sunday, December 2, 2018 I @ 7:00pm I pray our replacement is only one background check away. You don't deserve the right to call yourself a customer service representative of any kind... Especially working in an ER whereas you may come in contact with people with sensitive issues.. Nasty, Rude, and disrespectful staff. They could care less if you're hysterically crying and worried about a loved one of yours being held in the hospital. My grandma had busted her head open and broke her neck, and the lady I was transferred to in the emergency room to speak to, was quick to cut me off when speaking and proceeded to be short and passive aggressive when asking for the patients name, and then transferred me to the wrong extension. When trying to report this behavior to the manager/upper-staff after calling back, I wasn't taking serious at all and told they would "investigate" it. Sitting here waiting for my boyfriend to be seen for his kidney stones. We were seen quickly upon entering and taken back to a room within 20 minutes. However, once in the room it took 45 minutes for anyone to come in. I had to ask twice for pain medication because he was starting to shake from the pain in his lower back. Luckily, the heavy set woman with glasses at the desk was helpful. She kind of rolled her eyes when she found out the nurse hadn't come in yet. Everyone was more concerned with gossiping and flirting with each other than helping patients. Whenever I've asked anyone a question, they've been more annoyed that they had to stop and help, than the reason we're here to begin with. Our nurse, Kelly Sweet had the personality of cardboard box. She rolled her eyes because I was sitting on the bed with him when she walked in. Dr. Redd was super nice and very attentive; but the x-ray tech should probably work in a morgue, instead of a hospital. Be prepared to wait a long time. You're the prisoner here, not the patient. read more

This hospital sucks. I can never get an actual doctor when I come they are always PAs. I had extreme pain and waited from 7-1:30am to get a room AND to get pain medicine. They could have given me medicine while I was in acute care but I waited for two hours and watched everyone be seen and get a bed but me. And my mom asked 4 dif ppl to help. Turns out they forgot to assign me a doctor. My pain was so bad but they just said my bloodwork was fine (white blood cells a little elevated) but that was normal with inflammation from a surgery I had. They discharged me as fast as they could and tried to tell me it's good news that everything looks normal. Sent me home with pain meds and that was it. I just hate this place I don't feel cared about or listened to. Now I'm back today a week later of being in pain still and I'm assuming the same thing will happen. Smh read more

I brought my husband to the ED at Carroll Hospital Center on June 1, 2021 because he had chest pain that had lasted for several hours, and it seemed to be increasing. He had a heart attack a few years ago, and we were very concerned, because these were the same exact symptoms that happened when he had a confirmed heart attack. The hospital front desk staff, and the triage staff were quick, and kind. The nurses were very caring, and the medical treatment that was ordered seemed appropriate, and familiar from the previous heart attack. The doctor who was making treatment decisions seemed to be caring, and competent. The ED doctor, James Clement, MD told us that he was going to admit him for observation and testing, when a bed became available. A few hours later, the hospitalist, George Abraham, MD from the observation unit came to the ED, to see my husband. We were there 12 hours before hearing from the nurse that the tests were negative, and they were now discharging him from his room in the ED. That would have been good news, except that we were told for the first time about the test results, by his nurse when discharge papers were brought into his ED room, and he was being prepared to leave. He had not seen a doctor in about 7 hours. I asked when the doctor would come to explain the tests, and give us a chance to ask about the new prescription, etc. We were told by my husband's nurse, that if we wanted to speak to the hospitalist who had discharged him, we would need to wait at least another hour. We were happy that the test results were negative, but we wanted to know things like why his heart rate that was showing on the monitor in the 40s for most of the 12 hours he was in the ED, and what exactly the test results meant. Even his nurse asked us during the time he was in the ED, if a low heart rate was normal for him. It is not normal that we are aware of. The nurse explained that hospitalist would not be coming unless we requested him to, and we waited at least an hour longer. She explained that this was a common practice; because my husband was being admitted for observation, he was technically no longer a patient in the emergency department. The hospitalist on the observation unit upstairs was his doctor; but there were no open beds for him to be moved to on that unit. The hospitalist had visited my husband to introduce himself about 7 hours before. He had not seen my husband since the final test results were back, and the decision to discharge him had been ordered. He had multiple blood work, EKGs, x-rays, and a cardiac stress test. I was very concerned, and eager to learn everything I could before taking him home. I was stunned that a doctor was not expected to come, explain the results or allow us to ask questions. The nurse explained that the doctors had a "full load", and we would wait at least another hour if we wanted to talk with the hospitalist before he was discharged. My husband's symptoms began around 1 am, and it had been an incredibly stressful 16+ hours. We were exhausted, frustrated, and confused. The possibility of waiting another hour, or more was unacceptable. We left the hospital 12 hours after arriving with no understanding of what happened. After he was discharged, and we had left the hospital; the hospitalist, Dr. Abraham called, and said that the nurse told him that we were unhappy, and had questions. We were taken off guard, and I was upset that I could not ask questions, because I was driving. I don't know what to expect, or even understand what the "negative" results meant. I don't believe that this is a doctor, or a nurse issue. It appears to be hospital policy designed by a heartless corporation looking to squeeze the last red cent out of its medical staff, and patients. I wonder how many mistakes, missed diagnoses, or sentinel events have happened, or will happen with policies that ask physicians to routinely handle a "full load", and making medical decisions without even speaking to the patient. Patients with serious medical conditions are left to learn about their test results, diagnoses and discharge instructions, from nurses who are reading from printed instructions, and have no ability to answer any major questions. I expect to hear this information first from a doctor. I want to be able to discuss options, to learn what to expect, and when I might need to seek further medical treatment. These printed discharge instructions are supposed to reinforce what the doctors have explained; not take the place of it. The staff are forced to work covering patients, including ones with known cardiac disease who presented with possible cardiac symptoms, and monitor them from different floors. It seems like they are stretched to the breaking point, but expected to diagnose, and treat patients where seconds matter. I am certain that if there are bad outcomes because of Lifebridge policies, the doctors, or other staff will be the ones blamed. read more

The ER wait was 4+ hours on a random Monday night. They did do a blood work-up while I was waiting, which sped up the process once I was in the back. It was obvious that the ER doctor was in over my head when it comes to my complex disease. I've had over 100 surgeries for the same thing. 300+ CT scans. 500+ hospital days. The process is the same almost every time I end up in the hospital. Despite it being clear that I know my condition well, he simply would not listen to my suggestions. I told him exactly what was done the 100+ other times this happened to me. He actually suggested that I'd be going home that night to be managed as an outpatient. Well, once the surgeon saw me, orders ended up being the same as they've been at every other hospital ever. I was admitted and had surgery the next day. I was discharged three days later. We wasted so much time because the ER doctor would not listen. I must say that the inpatient care was phenomenal. The nursing staff is amazing and I had a comfortable stay. I *will* be back. It is the nature of my disease. Not the best hospital I've been to, but far from the worst. Just be prepared to wait... read more
