My two friends and I came here to see the lighted boats! What a fun experience! We really enjoyed walking in the park and taking pictures of the boats once it got dark! Definitely recommend seeing for yourself!

Nice walk along the canal with the stores along the sides. Can be crowded but worth it.

Sunday, while on Tony's Birthday Trip, We stoppedin Frederick, MD for lunch. On our way to the Oyster Shack, we walked past Carroll Street Park that has a lovely Canal.. Along the canals, there are many little shops and eateries! There was lots of on the street parking. Free on Sundays! I didn't see any commercial gift shops! Highly recommend and will definitely go back if we are ever playing around that area again!!!

This urban park is located in downtown. It is not a green space park, but a park that focuses on a water way named Carroll Creek. The creek is lined on both side with a wide pedestrian path. Bridges connects both sides. Wonderful independent shops, eateries, and a public library ate located on the paths. During the time of our visit, it was nicely decorated with winter holiday displays. The most impressive display was the line of themed and lighted small boats on tbe creek. Some boats even had working contraptions. We had fun walking and admiring this park.

Not a park in the traditional sense of a large field with lots of trees. Carroll Creek Park began and continues as a flood control play. It includes includes brick pedestrian paths, water features, planters with shade trees and plantings, pedestrian bridges, and a 350 seat amphitheater for outdoor performances all close to the heart of the historic downtown. Lots of small events here. On this occasion they had a nice art festival.

Beautiful and lovely creek in the Downtown Frederick. It's a great location to take a stroll, sit and observe nature or relax.

Nice park that cuts through downtown Frederick and has decorated boats for "Sailing Through the Winter Solstice" that runs from Nov-Mar. Really nice walk and the boats help to raise money for local charities. Highly recommend!

I've pass through Frederick so many times, but it has never occurred to me to pause and explore the city. One day I looked it up through TripAdvisor. I immediately grew an interest in Carrol Creek Park, with its pictures featured on top 2 of the list. Sorry Yelp, in terms of Things To Do, TripAdvisor is still the leader; CCP is listed as #171 on Yelp's Things To Do in Frederick MD search!! The main focal point is the segment of the creek at S. Market St. The arched stone bridge featuring a funky artistic mechanical clock immediately captured my attention. In the stretch of creek in front it were a whole variety of water lilies. Not sure how long water lilies bloom, but I consider myself lucky because they were all blooming and they were amazing. Both sides of the banks along this section of the creek are brick pavement, very well done and maintained. There's also an amphitheater and several artificial. The whole setting is very inviting and conducive to taking a good stroll, which can be last for miles but I have yet to spend more time to explore beyond the immediate area around the clock bridge. I will definitely be back after this initial exploratory visit. Metered street parking is $2 per hour and I had no problem finding a spot on a Saturday.

[Coronavirus review] Downtown Frederick is highlighted by this creek, which runs through a built-up but rather charming stretch of brick with numerous footbridges. It has some art objects built into it, and various aquatic plants as well. It's a place that you can and should walk after getting a meal at one of the numerous fine restaurants downtown. It's also a place that has become more important during a time when you are actually banned from eating in those restaurants. Why not try to find a spot here?

This is a fantastic parked at my family and I have visited while we were in Frederick Maryland. Frederick was one of our first stops on our 10 day vacation. We had a really good time exploring the city and seeing the different sites. The Carroll Creek Park was definitely one of the better things that we saw in Frederick it had a wonderful walking bridge in very beautiful sites of the water

We biked the Frederick City Bike Trail. This was super fun. We started at Carrol Creek linear park and completed 8.58 miles round trip (be sure to use the trail map on AllTrails.com). Along the ride, we stopped several times for pics and to enjoy the scenery. We saw so many parks, lots of greenery, ducks/geese, artwork, a cookout, public pools, tennis courts, playgrounds, lakes and more. We stopped at an outdoor concert and grabbed some ice cream on the way back . Overall, I loved this trail. It was completely paved or bricked. There were a few bridges to cross and a small amount of hills near the rock creek trail. 2 of the hills were HUGE but short. We walked up those hills but the rest of trail was nearly flat with many places to take a break if needed.

Carroll Creek Park is a lovely park that runs along Carroll Creek in the historic part of downtown Frederick, MD. We happened to be in Frederick recently for a wedding, and arrived during the autumn leaf change time. Having been a New Yorker for most of my life, I loved the colors of autumn. We recently moved to south Florida, and hadnt realized how much I missed the vibrance of color all around. On a sunny Sunday, just before our journey home, we took a walk in this lovely downtown park. The streets on either side of the park are lined with shops, restaurants, apartments and a library. The architecture all around was eclectic, from very old buildings (the city was founded in the 1740s) to modern. The bridges over the creek were all different...each and every one. There is even a short suspension bridge and one with a clock and signs of the Zodiac on the side. My favorite one, however, is the one with tromp l'oil paintings, depicting, stone work, statues, friezes and ivy covering portions of the bridge...amazingly realistic looking. The only reason I gave the park 4 stars instead of 5, is that the water in the creek looked dirty and in places almost stagnant. I ust say hough, I don't live here and many of the drains at the bottom of the creek looked as though they might be working on them, so this situation may improve, hopefully. All in all, a nice place to spend a couple of hours outdoors on a nie day.

Every city should have a Carroll Creek Park. It's an urban park that runs through historic Frederick along a small creek with little bridges and many shops just off the creek. On the west end is Baker Park and the further east you walk, you'll stumble upon many breweries just off the water. Some parts of the park include public art displays.

Baker Park is like the crown jewel in the diadem that is Downtown Frederick…read more The park has been under extensive renovations in its recent history and is quite large. According to the website its a "58 acre linear park running through the heart of downtown Frederick." When I think of Baker Park, I think of the bell tower or Carillon. I recently learnt this, but the Carillon is Maryland's largest musical instrument #ScoreOneForFrederick. The tower holds 49 bells which are played by a keyboard type mechanism at the bottom of the obelisk. It is played by a master Carillonneur John Wittman on the weekends. But also you can hear it's automated tolling on the hour when you're at the park any day of the week. The park was named after Joseph T Baker who was a local philanthropist and also the person who purchased the land for the park to built on in the 1920s. There is an organization of volunteers called the Friends Of Baker Park which helps to maintain the park and restore and renovate portions of it. All in all, it's a must see if you're headed to downtown Frederick. I could write endless words about Baker Park, but it is nothing compared to seeing it and experiencing it for yourself. That is the only thing that will do it justice. Walking along Carroll Creek has always been a delight, especially in the spring when the lily pads are out and the creek is teeming with ducks and other wildlife. It definitely makes you appreciate parks in general and how much they add to a city when they're well maintained and special. I think it's 100 percent aided in making Downtown Frederick a national destination to visit.

I normally don't review parks, but this is the last of my 1st of 3 series of America 250 reviews…read more I was at Baker Park on 4th of July in 2022. There was an outdoor fair on that hot afternoon. I remember I got a couple of free coupons from Wawa. I had a date that afternoon, and she met me here; she lived in Frederick. We walked around the beautiful park. Perhaps, there could be some more shade as it was lots of open space, but there were areas with trees close to Carroll Creek. Trails connect to the downtown Carroll Creek Park for an easy walk, which we walked to there on our date. This is a solid park with some amentities.
