Quick and easy to grab something for lunch or dinner; useful if you're staying outside the city, as it's right at the west entrance to the city center. Very similar to a Sainsbury's Local or Tesco Express. Only French. read more

On that note, you can get regular, national brand chocolates here if you don't want to buy the fancy, hand-crafted, small-batch, mom-and-pop, high-end, 100-variety chocolates from the stores that cover the town. The store was clean and had a big variety of stuff for the traveler: water, juice, ready-to-go sandwiches, fruits. I visited a few times to get water for our treks.

OMG!! This store has had a major revamp and face lift!! I went back last night to do some shopping…read more(this one is near my work, i.e. Outside of Brussels city and so was open and business as usual, unlike the shops near my house which is in a proper Brussels suburb and so have been shut for the last 4 days!). Was impressed by the greater variety of bread now available and also the wider aisles now mean you can comfortably pass another cart. Some of the frozen/ freezer section food choices and locations felt a bit wonky to me - so for example the flavored yogurt and plain yogurt are not sure by side but split apart and for me, it makes logical sense that all yogurt, regardless of flavors or plain, are kept together. One huge improvement also is the checkouts - which are more in quantity than before, but the self-service option has been moved to the far right, whereas before it used to be closer to the exit. Next time I go, will try to get some updated pictures of this place, but I like the new look!

Slightly more expensive, but a very wide choice and I'm always surprised how friendly and helpful the staff in this Melsbroek Delhaize is... if you can't find a product, they gladly explain you and sometimes walk with you to show it... an exception in this category and size of supermarkets. They also have a 'postal point' for many official Belgian postal services (stamps, registered letters, etc.)
