Now there's a new store where I know I won't bump into him so I can shop again! The St Davids store is much less shabby than most phone shops. Everything is laid out really well and there seems to be an adequate number of staff around so that you never have to wait a long time to get your questions answered. What I don't like about Carphone Warehouse is that their online deals are often not the same as the instore ones so you don't get the same deals unless you really push for it and negotiate.

From basics such as speaker cabling through to full sound systems, TVs, DVD players and recorders, they offer good price deals and don't try to push the most expensive products down your throat. They stock a good range of well-known brands and don't talk down to you if you know little about electrical equipment. You might be able to match or even better their prices online, but you just won't be able to benefit from their expertise. If you see something you like, however, grab it there and then - as stock often flies out of the door not long after it arrives.

Because this is quite a small little place on Cowbridge Road East (an area I remember from my childhood as having seen better times), there is a sense of community spirit; clearly they've managed to build up a nice little network of loyal clientele. But this shop is run by people who know their stuff and are clearly passionate about getting the right products on their shelves, and knowing what brands are best for them and their customers. It is a treasure trove of mostly everything you could want from cosmetics to tools for the workshop. You name it and it is a good guess that they have it somewhere in the store , All of which are one ( sometimes two) for a pound It is a large store and almost always overcrowded . Watch your pockets and handbags otherwise your purchase may not be such a bargain ! The tills at the pay station ring continuously. As an example of cost saving I priced a halogen bulb for my reading lamp in a well known Cardiff electrical shop ( no I will not give the name ! ) the price quoted was £2. 50 for one. I thought this was too expensive as it was not a top of the range lamp. In the pound store I purchased an identical bulb for an amazing four on a card for a pound . And I guess they sell the cheapest sugar than any supermarket. There are other bargains to sizeable to detail. If you are looking for a good buy this is the store to visit.

This Topshop has been around for a few years now (replacing it's dreadful poxy small predecessor), and I just can't even begin to describe how much I love it. What's great about this Topshop is it's size, whilst I love the flagship store on Oxford Street, it's so big it's often impossible to navigate, let alone finding something in particular, plus it's always packed. The Cardiff store is big, it goes back very far and covers three floors, but is nothing in comparison to its London counterpart. There is big selection of clothes, and the turnover is quite phenomenal, everytime I go in there I always see something new (which is very bad for my bank balance). If you're a fan of Kate Moss they always have her new ranges in straight away, the same also goes for the boutique and ranges from designers such as Christopher Kane. I often find that changing rooms can really let stores down, this Topshop however, has them aplenty, and not once have I had to queue to try clothes on (which makes a nice change). If I have one small complaint it is that the jewelry and accessories selection is minimum to say the least, however as the clothes are simply super, I don't really care.

Apparently this is an instant way to make you feel fat and unfashionable (she's hot and size 10 so there's no reason she should feel that). Everything is laid out so nicely too in a very eye-catching way with unusual curved display racks going down the centre of the floor space. In addition to papers and mags, there are plenty of local books, stationery (including school/college items), and, around the corner at the back, good quality greetings cards. Some jigsaws for sale as well and a full range of confectionery.
