It is worth looking in Gee Jays before buying anything from B&Q or similar places. They have stock clearance items and regular stock as well. The stock varies widely and is regularly updated to accommodate seasonal stock. If you are doing a spot of DIY I imagine you can get everything from here, as they have paint, brushes and cleaning equipment. The main downsides to this shop are: 1) Parking, there are a few spaces on the road outside, but the shop is a 5 min walk out of town; 2) Accessibilty with wheelchair, pram or similar. I find it hard to navigate a pram around, so have to make arrangements to go there on my own.

Staff are often helpful though, my mum is a regular and they know her needs well so she's often in and out in about 5 minutes! The area in itself is rough although we're not reviewing the town itself so I won't go into detail. I would only recommend this to a customer who needs little DIY needs, otherwise go to B&Q Extra in Sutton, there's 3 buses that go straight there from Somercotes anyway!
Quality of the door is good. However customer service is terrible. I had to wait almost 2 months…read morefor an installation date, and when the door was finally installed there were a number of problems. Numerals ordered were missing. Wrong handle installed and the silicon around the edge of the door came apart within 1 hour. Called up Yale to ask when this would be corrected only to be told by the customer service rep that they would look into it and get back to me. (No sense of urgency along with a blarzay attitude). No response the next day so decided to call back only to be told that it's on their todo list and that it could be next week until the parts arrived. Will not be recommending them!

Don't expect the Guarantee to be of any use, I had to take Yaledoor to court because they refused to acknowledge the faults on my door.

This is probably one of the most maverick and unconventional Wilko stores I have visited, the main…read morebranch in Sheffield city centre - the store is over two floors and it is the first time I have ever seen a Wilko branch contain a Post Office, toilets and Cafe - although the latter two seem to close really early including the toilets a good 2 hours or so before the store closes which for me lowers that benefits - the only toilet which is open throughout the store is the disabled toilet which appears to be used for storage making it a nightmare for anyone, let alone a disabled person of which the toilet is designed for. The store being on Haymarket perhaps isn't the best location within the city centre, as it is a stop on the tram or a good 5-10 minute walk from the rest of the city's main shopping areas including The Moor and Fargate, the whole area seems a little rough including the nearby Hilton Sheffield - which of course lowers the overall feel of the store as it feels like the backstreets of a third world country rather than a city centre of the largest and main town of the South Yorkshire region. The staff didn't seem too friendly or helpful - the overall product range was okay but again the layout was confusing including one way in one way out forcing you to buy something - again this is a traditional method Wilko use in many of their stores but surely this adds extra inconvenience to customers just coming in perhaps to use the Cafe (at its' limited hours) or the Post Office who obviously have no need to wait at the crowded checkouts? Not in the best location in Sheffield but still central nonetheless, also let down by its' store layout and perhaps offering too much than it is able to cope with - proof of this is closing many facilities early or having different timings which don't seem to work out. 2*

Purchased some lightbulbs from a promotion bin in the Sheffield IKEA clearly priced at £0:10 each…read more checking my recipe at home later noticed they had changed me £1:50 each. I bought 10 so was overcharged £14:00. I contacted IKEA customer service department who were not bothered and even asked if I had taken a photo of the price on the light bulbs (who would) IKEA customer service said there is nothing they can do and said go to the Sheffield store customer service desk and see if they could help, what is the point of having a customer service department if they will not help, it would cost £10 in petrol to go to Sheffield for an argument with there customer services, and not prepared to lose any more money, this is a case for trading standards and will be looking at getting them involved
I know it sounds a bit weird, but Wilkinsons is one of my favourite shops!…read more You'd be amazed at what you can find in there - toiletries, cleaning products, home wares, gifts, diy bits and bobs, confectionery, stationery they've even started selling food and drink. They also have really good seasonal departments - loads of christmas ornaments and decorations in the winter (including plenty of those annoying singing christmas characters!) and a pretty extensive garden department in the summer. And best of all, their prices are really low, so it's well worth a look if you need anything from batteries to bin bags to bedding.
Wilkinsons is located on the outskirts of the city centre, close to Westfields…read more It offers a range of cheap products for the home and a variety of foods and drinks. It is a large store with plenty of kiosks, so although queues build up, you always get served quickly. Overall, prices at Wilkinsons are low, but you have to look out for them as sometimes they are more expensive than the supermarkets.

The shop (renovated house) is huge and has two floors of rooms stuffed full of antiques This shop sells period clothing which is the main reason me and my friends visit because we are interested in such things. It is enjoyable to walk around, yet a little creepy at times, especially if you are on your own. Staff are generally friendly but a little weary about youths and so when we walk in they follow us around the whole shop in case we do something stupid i suppose. The antiques are crammed in and so you have to be careful when you are walking round and this can be hard when things are hanging off of tables. It never seems to get very busy at all. The prices can be quite expensive.
