My experience with Carpet and Tile Mart in lancaster PA was excellent. From the sales department (Craig Shauback) and the carpet Installer (Rob). We visited at least three carpet companies looking for Smartstrand carpet at least 55 oz.. Their quotes were at least 30% higher than Carpet and Tile Mart. I asked for an estimate for flooring for 3 rooms. The employee sighed and said Ooh, that's expensive. He only got me the quote when I insisted. And he dragged his heels. Then he made it a point to tell me it would be more if they needed to do work on the floor. Something I know because I'm 65 and not stooopid. It was well within my range but I will not be buying from a place that assumes I can't afford what I want by just looking at me. You don't know me. But you now know you lost the sale. read more

New floor for preschool classroom. Problems with glue and tile lifting up. Found out glue was at its limit of shelf life. Carpet Mart uses third party independent contractors for installation. If there are issues they point the finger at them and refuse to take responsibility. Store manager Todd was nasty and showed complete disinterest in finding a solution. Buyer beware! Sometimes it takes just one person to ruin what could have been a good experience. (I should have read the reviews first). They were advertising on cable - $25 off. I was told I wasn't eligible. The measurements for my floor was 190 sq ft. Now do the math, the kitchen is slightly smaller than 12 x 14' then MINUS the permanent cabinets. No matter what I said I was charged for 190 sq ft. I paid cash. The installation was the best part, prompt, efficient and polite. Floor looks marvelous! I was given a case of excess to return for reimbursement, that was easy. Then reviewing my original bill, I noticed that I paid for quarter round at $41.97 with installation fee of $24.00. I contacted the store, thinking this was a discrepancy. Instead, I got the rudest idiot on the east coast. He yelled at me, talked over me, told me the installers did me a favor and didn't charge me for it. They raised less than 10 ft of molding, and allegedly I should have been charged over $50.00. Good racket, buddy, but you can't add on to a bill paid in full a week after. I was the best type of customer, knew what I wanted, paid in full and dismissed most of the nonsense that should have been red flags. Never again, their prices are no different from the other stores. I went in with a quote from LL and the salesman gave me an estimated quote that was $600 less. I had to pay to have the area measured-$35 which is non-refundable. LL does this for free. I waited a week for the results after the measuring even though I called and was told I would have them the next day. Final quote-$770 more than LL. Now I'm out $35 for nothing. What a scam! And lousy service when you have to keep calling them!! read more

Its a carpet warehouse. They have carpet... and smart alec sales guys. So I went in looking for those carpet treads for my stairs. The one guy showed me the pile (same crap as home depot, and no nice colors) which had packs of 13 pieces in each. So as I was examining the packs a sales guy walks past and says (smartly) "they have 13 pcs per pack". Yeah, I guess the big 13 on the pack eluded me. When I turned around he acted like he was talking to another guy. Regardless of his mouth, I wasnt impressed with the selection (there or anywhere else so far) of stair treads. Ill pass on carpet mart if I need carpet. I think Ill call someone else. read more

We own a property in Lancaster and recently worked with Carpet and Tile Mart to re-carpet the place. They have a good selection at reasonable prices. Appreciated that that they are open on Sundays, and that they worked to accommodate our schedule, stretching things out over several weeks so we could be in town for both the measurement and install. They put lots of thought into the geometry of the floor plan so that in the end there was little wasted carpet (and less material we had to pay for). The install crew arrived promptly and worked hard throughout the day. The final result is gorgeous, with real attention to detail. Can't see any seams, corners and odd angles are tight, radiators properly fitted. After all was said and done, Carpet Mart reached out and informed me there had been a slight overcharge, and sent a prompt refund. Satisfied all around. read more

Recently made a large purchase on LVP flooring. The sales experience is good but wow when I tell you their installation team fell short.... they had to come back out 3 times to fix the flooring that they rushed to install, the communication is terrible, they don't show up on time, they string you along, you have to keep calling and following up. Would not recommend to anyone ! Definitely don't use their installer team in the Manheim location. Its beyong ridiculous and they clearly dont care about getting a returning customer. The salesperson or store never follow up with you either to make sure it was all installed correctly. Once they make the sale theyre done. This is coming from a landlord who could've given them 3 more locations had the experience been good. Definitely going elsewhere. BTW, I'm still trying to get the flooring fixed and no one showed up as they said. Can't say I'm surprised at this point . Never again. It's been almost 2 months at this point with the back and forth. read more

Avoid this company if you can. My husband and I went with Carpet and Tile Mart as they had exactly the carpet I wanted. The carpet was backordered and we had to wait a few weeks, no big deal. The day for install finally came, and apparently they subcontract out their installers. The two guys who came hardly spoke English, so it was difficult to communicate with them. They left a transition piece just sitting on the floor and my husband had to call them to come back and install it. They brought two different widths of padding, and apparently used the wrong size as we had several gaps between our carpet and the trim. There were several areas where tack board was missing altogether, causing large gaps in the floor. It looked hideous, and I cannot fathom how anyone leaves a job site like that without even an explanation. We called Carpet Mart and sent them pictures. At first, they seemed like they would be helpful. After several days of waiting to hear back, my husband called them and they tried to tell us the issue is with our trim (which was newly installed). They failed to measure for the carpet being installed, and did not even mention that the measuring could be done BEFORE the trim was installed to make sure it would be a seamless fit. They wanted to charge us extra to have quarter-round installed, which was not the look we were hoping for at all. They refused to double the padding around the edges of the room. Their customer service left a lot to be desired. I would not recommend them at all. Now we are stuck with a floor that cost $1500 and looks horrible. read more

I'll start off by saying that I initially went with Carpet and Tile Mart BECAUSE of the great reviews. The great prices were also a factor. And yet, my experience turned out to be the opposite of the great reviews and therefore not worth the competitive pricing. I have spent numerous hours during this crazy holiday season dealing with the many, many issues this company heaped upon my busy schedule. These rugs (4 altogether) were ordered early enough to be here for Thanksgiving Holiday. 1. Ordered 2 scatter rugs. I was notified the next day only one was in stock. I found one from another company and so asked them to send the one they had and cancel the backorder on the other. 2. Customer service canceled both rugs! So I had to go back to see if the other company could send two and it was too late, the other one they had was now gone and back-ordered until April 2020. If Carpet Mart had done as I requested, I would have my 2 scatter rugs. 3. For my trouble, the company comped me all of the pads and said I would be refunded for the 2 scatter rugs and comped pads within 3-5 business days. 4. It has now been 9 business days and still no refund. 5. And worse... only 1 of the 2 rugs I paid for has been delivered. The largest, and most expensive was supposed to be here on Friday but according to the Customer Service Manager Kim, it has not even left the warehouse. 6. I emailed and called this morning AGAIN, and NO response. Nothing, nada, no refund, no rug. I would never recommend this company. Ever. Too much aggravation and the worst service. read more

We purchased $700 of Couristan Lakely CBK2-0002A Dew carpet runners for our home from Carpet and Tile Mart. Six months later, the ink in the areas where people walk has faded by nearly 50%. The vertical areas on the stair where people do not walk have remained the same as they appeared on the day they were purchased. Also, there are inconsistent dye areas that look constantly dirty. We don't wear shoes in our house, so, it's not dirt. What a big disappointment. We are going to have to remove the carpets. Stay away! read more

Walked in looking for a simple, small piece of carpet remnant, which we were up front about (aka - not a big purchase) and Craig helped us out and treated us like we were the only customers around. He helped us get exactly what we needed and helped us figure out better proportions so we could save even more money on our simple purchase. They had a bunch of different bound and unbound options at great price, walk in and ask for Craig and no matter what you're looking for he's going to hook you up. They have a lot of carpet in stock and were easy to work with and fast - I went in the week before Thanksgiving for some runners and they installed everything before the relatives showed up. The sales guy wasn't very good at estimating - he quoted me $500 and it was $800, but I kind of expected that. They subcontract installation; the installers were really nice. read more

Cut my kitchen cabinets BEFORE checking the floor for level for a laminate floor. No level = no laminate. They installed a new plywood subfloor for vinyl and then presented the cost of that to me! I didn't pay it. Nice try... read more
