I have to give here exceptional credit for weathering the changes in healthcare let alone those practice changes with the recent market in the Chicagoland area. Dr. Rae is a great service driven physician that listens, assesses, treats and follows up with patients. Although an internist, she has an excellent handle on diabetes and its treatment. Over the years our family's health has thrown several curve balls that she has fielded well. Emergency calls, Late night appointments and collaborative efforts with other physicians are among her exceptional service qualities. If we have ever had any issues, it has been directly traced through the errors of transitioning support staff.

She and her staff are truly compassionate people. Dr. Ramadurai followed up with calls to our home even as late as 7P.M. She is dedicated to her patients and wants only the best for them. She is up front about the diagnosis as well as the prognosis and delivers that info with kindness and respect. I think very highly of her and will recommend her to anyone needing her services. The staff works well as a team and the office is run with the professional efficiency that one would hope to find in the healthcare system . This is especially true because her excellent, multi-lingual office staff will schedule you to fit in and appointment THAT DAY, or at worst, the next day if you're having an urgent issue. I can't stress enough how awesome this is. I was able to avoid paying extra money for the emergency room because she was able to go out of her way to make an appointment with a specialist who could rule out a true cardiac emergency when my heart rate and BP were extremely low and I was having dizzy spells and called her. I no longer live nearby but I have kept her as my doctor because of these factors and the fact that it's a hassle to change my Primary Care doc. I think the reason another poster said there is often a wait is partly due to the fact that they schedule patients pretty tightly so they can see you as soon as possible, AND she spends a really good amount of time listening to patients, even when a med student does the initial assessment she will take time to really understand what's happening. So that "wait-time" complaint is actually a benefit to whichever patient she's with at the moment, which will eventually be you! The only reason she doesn't get 5 stars from me: I think if you are offended by Christian sentiments (posters, little daily meditation books in the waiting room) she might not be the very best doctor for you. You might be put off by some of her priorities (for example, the friendly advice, You-should-marry-him-already and don't-you-want-a-baby? kind of thing - granted this is after I've been seeing her for 8 years and she knows me well, and I'm paraphrasing). ON the other hand, she really is a very intelligent, kind, attentive, careful doctor and the advantages vastly outweigh the disadvantage of my having to fend off her desire for me to put a ring on it and get preggo.

I said I found her online searching for a doctor who understands low carb and would give me a comprehensive health eval and do extra blood tests that 99% of other doctors don't do. Also, I'm getting older and I suspect I have inflammation. She spoke a bit about what she does. It was what I was looking for. She mentioned her fee and I was ok with the fee. Then she said she only takes referrals from doctors because "most people don't understand what she does". If she just stopped her sentence at "only takes referrals from doctors" I would have thanked her and the conversation would have ended. But I replied that I do understand what she does and that I have a lot of knowledge about low carb and have done it on and off for years and have had success in weight loss and felt better. But I didn't stick with it because of my lifestyle and now in my 50's I have inflammation and I want to work with a doctor like her. She said she disagreed with me about why I didn't stick to low carb as if she has any clue about me, my health and life. She rambled on and kept pushing me for a doctors name even after I said I didn't have one. So thinking maybe it would help, I revealed a minor health issue I had in 2016 and how that doctor (I mentioned that doctor by name) told me to go low carb. She immediately started talking so she had no idea what I did and didn't do for treatment and what results were of tests I had back then in regard to this issue and that I have had no issues with it since. The conversation went on for a while and it was a jumbled mess. She was all over the place with her words. She spoke erratically. There was nothing linear about our conversation. She called me "obese". I never told her my height and weight but she probably took an educated guess thinking from a BMI perspective I am considered "obese". That's true but visually speaking I am overweight but I do not look obese. I'm not even in plus size clothing. It was totally unnecessary for her to call me obese in this conversation. Then she told me to go to any ol' MD, which is exactly what I don't want. I remember her saying the word "bariatric" in her mess of words and then she said that I need to get on pharmaceuticals and HRT. I said I want a doctor who will use nutrition and supplements first and see how it goes. She said it wouldn't be possible for me to do that and be successful with my health. She said this to me with minimal information about me and no lab work. I was shocked how a doctor who presents herself on her website as using food, fasting and supplements for health just wanted to pawn me off on any ol' MD and get on pharmaceuticals and HRT. I have read a ton of books and listened to a lot of podcasts on low carb, keto, carnivore and fasting. I know a lot can be corrected without drugs and HRT. And her website leads you to think she knows this too. Finally she sounded as if she had enough of dealing with me and wrapped up the conversation pushing me away and wishing me well in my health (something like that, it was a crazy whirlwind) and I literally stood there mouth agape at the appalling manner in which this doctor handled this entire conversation. Her site says her protocols "are designed to prevent the onset of chronic diseases and limit the progression of aging." Judging by her very comprehensive website I should have been a shoo-in for this doctor. But no. Something is very "off" about her. Update: Just looked at the facebook page for her practice. She claims she stands with "science" and that fraud Fauci. She actually believes "testing" with that fake PCR test means anything. She's masked up like a c0v-id cult freak in a few photos. He offers extensive medical testing such as detail blood work, saliva, hair, urine/stool testing even your core energy field. He gives you a lot of paperwork/graphs/charts of your test results and goes over them to you in detail and you don't feel rushed. Dr. Galera is a medical Doctor so he can also prescribe pharm drugs as well as natural supplements (this is in his office). He helped me with my imbalanced hormones. Keep in mind his supplements can be a bit pricey. He's the only doctor that was able to answer my "whys" of how I emotionally feel, visible symptoms, and other issues that I use to have. So if you prefer seeing a holistic doctor than conventional ones, then he's a person to meet. However, they lost one star from me because they no longer take health insurance as o June 1, 2013. It is now Fee-for-Service practice with Payment-In-Full at the time of services rendered. For the cost of their services it is pricey.
