First of all I am extremely picky about hairdressers and beauty therapists…read more I have really damaged hair and they need to know what they are doing or it won't end well. I was greeted by Vicki who is lovely, she found me an appointment really quickly and was happy to squeeze me in for a shellac treatment on my nails before getting my hair cut. She did an fantastic job, talking me through the steps of the procedure and also talking for me like we had been friends for years instantly making me comfortable. Then I had my hair cut by a lovely lady who I believe her name was Kylie, she did an amazing job on my hair which had loads of unkept ends, and uneven places. Followed by a great blow dry. I walked out with a shiny concave bob and a big smile on my face. The staff are lovely, it's the most welcoming salon I have been into for years, it is clean and up to date on the current styles whilst still accommodating clients needs and wants. The pricing is also fantastic. I have the feeling I will become a regular client.

7 months ago I posted that I had a great haircut here. Since then I have not had the same stylist…read moretwice in a row. I arrive, someone else does the cut. Morning of, the stylist I've booked is not available. The cuts have been adequate. This last cut was atrocious. I left feeling ok about it, but once I washed all the product out I could see it had simply been chopped and razored. Looked like a fluffy toilet brush. A hairdresser friend who lives 3 hours away from me said - "it was chopped, not cut". So now I will be driving 3 hours (one way) to get a decent short haircut (when this mess grows out a bit). Add to that, despite making contact several times, requesting my payment details be deleted, I have heard nothing from the salon. Very disappointed.

As a ex pat returning to home to Australia I gave this salon a call to confirm the price before…read moredriving there and I really didn't have much of an idea of what it would cost, I asked on the phone for a quote to have my gel nail polish removed on my finger and toe nails and then get a new plain colour on both my finger and toe nails. I was originally quoted only $25 while on the phone and questioned the staff member if this was correct as it seemed way too cheap to me. I repeated the above service request and was told this time it would be $45. Still thinking this was not correct I once again repeated my request and was reconfirmed at $45. I then asked if I could make an appointment to which the staff member said, just come in anytime. I was there within an hour and once at the salon I told them what I wanted and told them I was quoted $45 to which they responded yes have a seat. I was at the salon for 1hr 45mins, extremely long considering it has never taken more than 45mins in any other salon I have ever visited and had 5 different people "work" on the gel removal and replacement. I was ask by every single staff member what colour I wanted repeatedly although I had chosen this when I very first sat down. I asked staff member number 3 to please cut my toenails as short as possible (she was only filing them down) to which her response was to walk off in a huff! I ended up happily using the clippers to cut them myself and waited another 15 mins for a different person to come back and attend to me. The gel polish ended up painted over my cuticles and when I asked kindly if staff member number 4 and 5 could please remove it their reactions were simply unprofessional. I kept smiling through all this and just thought to myself that I had chosen a dud salon I that I wouldn't go back again in the future...but then it came time to pay. I handed over the $45 and the "manager" said no and it will be $61.. I repeated to her the above circumstances and to my horror she started yelling and threatening me. She threatened to call security and was extremely intimidating. I had left my mobile phone in my car and wanted to go and get it to show her the time I had called the salon so she could figure out who had originally misquoted me twice..but that just led to more threats and her yelling. As I am not a natural complainer and like to resolve situations rather than argue I suggested that we come to an agreement and she gave me a 10% discount so I ended up paying $55. The point here is not the amount I paid but their absolutely atrocious customer service and the quality of the gel nail application, cutting and filing of my nails. I wear rubber gloves when washing dishes etc and then gel has started peeling off after only 3 days. First time in 10 years or so that my gel polish hasn't lasted at least a good 2 weeks if not up to 3! I strongly recommend not patronising this business. Good luck folks

And you will find solace and an alert-but-no-alarmed brow with your new friends at Get Threaded. The service is personalised, detailed and they really do want to perfect your best eyebrow shape. They'll tackle anything from wild, untamed newbies to threading converts. The salon is relaxed and very informal, in a easily accessible part of Maroochydore (you can park out the back or in the McDs carpark and walk back). Expect to be there 45 - 60 mins for your first consultation. Unlike the brow bars littering the shopping centres of the UK, this is really dedicated service. I found it frustrating to be there that long when I am used to my 8 min in and out job, but I must say one week on I am really, really pleased with the shape and hey, you are at the coast so you should be in holiday mode... reeeeeeeeeelax! Definitely give it a go. Threading is really painless compared to waxing and I cannot recommend the results enough.
