See the photo below. The scheduling for Grand Strand imaging centers is insane. The portal is very cheap software and user unfriendly. Long waits when you call to attempt to make an appt. absolutely the worse MRI experience I have ever had. First they told me to be 1/2 hour early, then I sat in the waiting area for an hour. Went in and the woman told me to take everything off and put on a gown. i have been having MrI's for 28 years and i never had to do that...just my underwire had to be removed. She brought me in and asked what arm i prefer for my IV and i told her doesn't matter i have great veins in both. She looked and said No you don't. I told her everytime i have blood work they say how great they are. She says well they are big and mushy and make it easier for them to collapse. That did it for me! I was expecting for her not to be able to get it in or to shoot the contrast into my bloodsystem. Anyway I have had 8 MRI's of my brain to date and the places ive been where i lived always gave a little ball on a cord to hold incase you had question or panicked. nope. Ive always had the radiologist communicate constantly..You ok? time each test will take etc. Nothing. When i came out the first time to have contrast I asked why she doesn't communicate and she says that since you said you have had so many MRI's in the past, I didn't find it necessary but I will talk if you want me to. GOD! So she does not contrast, puts me back in and the test was one i never had before. It sounded like an alarm on the machine and just had a loud BEEP BEEP..last count i had was 85 of them so i called out to her and there was no answer..i shook my legs up, nothing...i banged on the top of the inside and she comes on and says whats wrong. i told her and she says that is the test and its got 4 more minutes. I was in a full blown panic with my heart racing, body shaking. I had these thoughts that she went back to her room and passed out or something..i know its wierd but certainly not impossible. Anyway i got passed it, calmed myself down and got it done. She brings me out, takes out the IV and tells me I can get up(thanks for the help), gives me the key and tells me i can get dressed and go. i'm getting dressed and someone is banging on the door asking if i'm done, she has questions to ask me. Seriously, can't you wait until i get dressed and come out? There was so much more but i don't want this to go on any longer. She asked about getting the disc for my previous MRI and told me to call them and have them mail it. I said why don't you call them since they will send it over immediately through the share software. She said they can't do the results for this without the previous and i told her then someone should have called and told me that in the 2 months I've been waiting for this appt. it was just a very pleasant experience, unless the past visits I've had elsewhere have been so good that this is the norm for them and just seemed awful! I know this was alot..but so was my appointment at this place. The medical care in MR is just terrible! read more

Had to go to Carolina Forest Imaging for an ultrasound of my abdomen. I got there at 12:30 1/2 hour before my appointment was scheduled as they asked. I finally got registered around 1 p.m. and then my back to the Imaging Center. I was then told did I couldn't get the test because I ate this morning to which I answered no one told me I was not allowed to eat. The girl, who was very nice, said that unfortunately that happens once in a while and I should have been instructed on that. So now I have to go back on Saturday and get the test run again. I don't blame it on any one person there it's just a misunderstanding. read more

Went last week for a MRI that was with contrast so I knew I would need an IV. Normally capable nurses have no problem placing an IV on me. I was stuck 9 times by 4 different people and finally had one that worked. Now 5 days later I'm in the ER with probable cellulitis in my arm from the IV that they used. Avoid this place if you can. read more

This facility was very professional and very welcoming! I was in and out in 45 mins. That is including the check in process and my mammogram imaging! The office staff was very polite and the tech was knowledgeable and helped me to feel at ease! I definitely recommend this place for any of your imaging needs! read more

Asked to have an MRI report sent to my doctor. Signed the required forms/release. After five days, still no report sent. Called there and was given an 1-800 number to have the report sent. The 800 number I was given was for billing, not records. Later, advised I would need to return and to the facility and sign another form. Just a run around for a report you paid for. They don't seem to care much. read more
