I was preparing for a surgical implant. The facility was very clean and the employees were very friendly and helpful. One even helped me remove my necklace with a teeny tiny clasp. I was taken to the room and the technician was very nice and informed. I asked if I could use this same place for future MRI's and he told me that I could not, if I had the implant, I would have to go to to Grand Strand. They have a machine that they can adjust for people having an implant like me, or for people with pacemakers. I was happy to get this information for my future. Although I have had the implant installed, I felt sorry this was my one and only chance to take advantage of this convenient facility. I highly recommend them.

Scheduling an appointment was easy, and the staff was polite and helpful. I was advised to come early to fill out forms, and I did just that. I do have Claustraphobia and my doctor ordered a prescription to take beforehand, however, I would need someone to drive me home. On such short notice, for me, it was impossible. I strained my brain, fretting about what I would do. Finally, I came up with an idea for my phobia, I would not look at the machine and I would blindfold myself, and brought my own, non-see-through scarf. Although washcloths were offered, they would not be enough. I arrived early and filled out the forms, and noticed there were two people in the waiting room ahead of me. I thought this office schedules well. Soon after this observation, I noted people coming in and being taken in ahead of me, leaving me waiting 20 minutes after my appointment. I was called in, and explained some history and my phobia and hopeful solution. The woman aid, allowed me to seat myself without looking at the machine. She spatted out the names of others in attendance, however I couldn't recall them probably due to my preoccupation. A gentleman approached, as I was tying on my scarf and I asked that they please check in on me frequently. I was assured they would do so, but all I needed to do was talk to them. Headphones were placed on my ears, and in I went. I must commend myself for my brilliant solution, as it worked like a charm, without medication. I was a bit disappointed, as the only time I was checked in with, was when I was advised there was 8 minutes left. Those 8 minutes felt as long as the first 22. The headphones were useless, as the machine drown out anything I tried to listen to, and the station was not tuned in. Nevertheless, I did complete the diagnostic test. Parking was adequate and they did have handicapped parking, but it must have been filled. I do very highly recommend this facility, however, I did leave 2 1/2 hours after I entered and it was a half hour procedure.

They also have a cafeteria. It is located off of Highway 17 and is easy to get to. As far as parking goes, they do have a big lot, and also a vallet if needed. I visited twice, and entered via the south entrance. Here they also checked us in, asked for Id, took our photo and was given a vistors pass. Both times i visited (one on 7/30/26 and another on 8/02/2026) The security person at check in was very nice. I was also with someone and knew where to go, but the security person also provides directions. Only quam is that it is chilly in hospitals, and highly recommend to bring a Jacket or something. Also, i'm surprised that there is no map of the hospital around- if i was by myself, and perhaps bad at directions, I feel that I would get lost in there! Anyways, found my dad's room in the cardio unit okay. Another thing is that there is only 2 chairs in the room, and if people want to stay long there should be another chair of some sort. At the visit of 7/30, someone needed to stand because we were 3 people. Oh, and met the surgeon and the nurse and everyone was nice. The nurse was also nice because it was time to remove some tubes that were in my dad, and she was explaining what she was doing and had a calming demeanor. Glad to see- although sort of wish I didn't have to see that because my dad said ow when the tube was out. Some people don't like seeing their family members in pain like that. Anyways. Oh and used the restroom on the south strand side, and it was a single stall! Clean but of course there was a line to the womens room for the single stall. Wasn't on the main entrance side, but hope the main entrance has more restroom stalls! This is my review as a visitor, and it was easy visiting this place.

Disappointed, I started to walk away, when Marisa ran out the door and called my name. Her and Jackie knew we were heading out of town and were willing to stay open and draw the blood they needed. They told me that they couldn't see me because they were at capacity. I look around and there is a mother and her son sitting in the waiting room. I ask how they are at capacity and the lady at the front desk tells me that they have 5 or 6 people waiting in rooms. I let the lady know that I will wait until 7 and if the doctor can see me then great but if not then fine but I'm willing to wait. She wouldn't allow me to do this. She told me that if they couldn't let people in otherwise they would be here all night. I asked her why the sign said open until 7 if they are turning away patients at 6. She told me that she isn't turning me away that I can come back tmrw. Really? No thank you and I don't ever plan on going back. You get into healthcare to help people and you understand that sometimes you may have to work a bit longer. You take all the good and bad that comes with it, not only the times that you feel like doing it.
