I stopped in on a very specific mission: ingredients for a ridiculous pozole-pho fusion experiment. I'd already been to one of my usual Asian markets, forgot half of what I needed (because apparently I like making life difficult), and figured I'd give this place a shot. My first thought walking in was, "Oh, this is smaller than I expected." About three minutes later I realized, "No... it's just efficiently packed." The produce section keeps going farther than you think, the shelves are stocked with all the staples I recognize, and then you hit the meat department... and wow. Seafood, pork, lamb, goat, beef bones, organ meats--you name it, they probably have it. If you're looking for something that makes the average grocery store employee say, "We don't carry that," this is probably where you'll find it. I grabbed pho spices, fish sauce (and was genuinely excited to find a vegan fish sauce option!), two pounds of beef bones, and an onion for about $15. Honestly? I expected to spend more. I also stumbled across a Jamaican section, which completely caught me off guard in the best way. I was there with tunnel vision, otherwise I probably would've wandered around for another half hour convincing myself I suddenly needed ingredients for three different cuisines. The checkout was quick, the cashier was friendly, and while the parking lot was surprisingly quiet, don't let that fool you. This isn't one of those giant, chaotic destination markets, feels more like the neighborhood spot where people already know they can find what they need. It is nicely organized which made my quick stop in very easy. I'll definitely be back. Next time I'm giving myself permission to actually browse instead of speed-running my shopping list. Something tells me I'll leave with way more than I came for... and honestly, I'm okay with that.

This most recent time I went , there were moldy taro roots on display, and I had to go back to return the sunflower seeds I bought, because they went bad and bugs were crawling inside the shells. Lots of Pereg spices like fenugreek for Yemenite Hilba, Yemenite Hawayej for soup etc. The prices for some products were lower than the prices at a nearby similar market. Definitly highly recommend for people missing food from Israel and those who are looking for vegan/ vegetarian items, Kosher, European food or just looking to try something new. The market is organized, clean and all the expiration dates seemed great. I can't wait to stop by again for some ice-cream and treats next time I pass through Phoenix.

Some of my favorite treasures are the bun bò Huế noodles, the purple sweet potatoes, crisp Asian pears, fresh pandan, and the endless array of fun drinks that always convince me to try something new. Every visit feels like a small adventure. And then there are the little surprises that make this place unforgettable: an incredible pho restaurant tucked inside, a jewelry shop sparkling quietly nearby, and families from every background filling their carts with pieces of home. What I admire most is that places like Lee Lee's do more than sell groceries--they preserve memory. They help grandparents pass recipes to grandchildren. They give immigrants a taste of familiarity. He said that the last brand didn't sell well and they put everything on sale to clear it out. He gave me an uncertain timeline of two weeks for a restock, but it didn't sound real. I am from out of town, and it's a two hour drive, and I came singularly for the frozen mock meat. I did walk the isles and they do have a lot of items to choose from that you will not find in a typical American supermarket, and I picked up some interesting sauces and condiments I hadn't seen before, which was good. Very, very bad was the bathroom. There was a pool of dirty water on the floor with a mop and pail. The latch on the single sit down stall was broken and I walked in on someone. The sinks are stained and dirty. The smell is bad and overwhelming. They need to clean it and wipe it down and fix the sit down stall latch. All in all, the store has a lot of asian products you will not find in supermarkets, they are comme ci, comme ça! ‍ on frozen mock meat products, and somebody really needs to clean their men's bathroom.

I probably missed some! Its fun to browse and definitely a great place to find items you can't find elsewhere. They carry fresh rice noodles, including the wide ones for drunken noodles - the whole reason I came! The produce section had great variety but strangely, neither the thai basil or the ginger I bought tasted like anything. I buy these all the time at other stores so not sure what that's about. I've spent time living in the Middle East and every so often, I like coming here to get some items…read morethat brings me back to Syria and Turkey. I like coming here to get all different kinds of Middle Eastern style breads which include pita, lavash and tanour bread. There is so many to choose from! This time also I was able to get some za'atar brioches and oh my goodness, I had these for breakfast this morning and they were delicious! I also like to get things here where I can't find elsewhere so I got some pomegranate juice, and some roasted chick pea snacks. They have quite a selection of spices here and I also picked up some roasted sesame. Lots of nuts to choose, and plenty of Middle Eastern/Arabic sweets and desserts available. They also sell hookah supplies here (not a fan - really bad for you). I hadn't been to this location in awhile and I miss that the inside restaurant is no longer open. I liked to get some of the ready made dips and sandwiches here. Bummer. Towards the back, lots of fresh sweets for sale including all kinds of baklava and there is also fresh olives for sale also! Fresh, halal meat available and also some meat that's been marinated and ready to cook. Fresh cheeses also available. I think I like the Mesa location better as I can get spinach and za'atar pies there and the fresh produce selection is better. And also you can get hummus, babaghanoush and other dips at the other location. Overall, I would say that these Baiz grocery stores are my happy place. It brings me back to a sweet and memorable time. It's worth a visit to check out all the unique items here and their pita and breads are fresh, tasty and well priced!
