I could have gone to so many more but there's that whole Pittsburgh to Greensburg trek that's tiresome after a concert. Anyway...each show I've see has had impeccable sound. The engineers are on it. A Local Treasure Worth Every Standing Ovation…read more I've been purchasing tickets for my mother and her friend at The Palace Theatre for the past three years, and I can honestly say this gem in downtown Greensburg is something truly special. The programming has been consistently top-tier, offering a wide range of shows that keep my mother (who sees over 20 shows a year!) thoroughly entertained and engaged. Even more impressive than the lineup, though, is the staff. They remember my mother and treat her like absolute royalty every time she walks through the doors--something that means the world to both of us. If you're not already a member of The Palace Theatre, you need to become one immediately. Membership gives you advance notice of upcoming shows, priority seating, and a feeling of being truly connected to one of the cultural cornerstones of the community. The theatre itself is stunning--elegant, historic, and beautifully maintained. It's a true highlight of downtown Greensburg and a reason to keep coming back again and again. If I had to offer one piece of constructive feedback, it would be to continue expanding and diversifying the programming. My mother does end up seeing some of the same shows year after year. But at 84, I'm just so grateful that she has a place she loves, where she feels seen, welcomed, and genuinely thrilled to attend. Bravo, Palace Theatre--you have our loyalty and our applause!

This a beautiful, modern and accessible theatre. The Public puts on a variety of plays (and…read moreoccasional musical) every season. They also host special events and educational opportunities (like the annual Shakespeare competition). It is easy to access the theater, and there are a variety of seating options (including two sections of seats at the sides of the stage). They have accessibility aids like assistive listening devices. Restrooms are clean and spacious. The only down side is that the theater seats are on the smaller side. If you have a larger body, it may be a tight squeeze into the seats. This kind of thing is really disappointing in a new(ish) theater. But overall, high quality productions and a great place to see a show.

The theatre is smaller and has some historic charm. The lobby is clean, bright, and kind of narrow. They have a few movie posters lining the walls and a fabric curtain separating the public area from the bar and auditoriums. The bar is located next to the concession stand and had several cocktails available along with a decent selection of liquors at a fair price. The concession stand was as expected with a little more of an inflated price point; a bottle of water cost me $4.50. The auditorium we were in was small and clean and only a little bit outdated. The chairs were cushioned, but some were ripping. The bathrooms were small and old, but clean. Any staff that I interacted with were very friendly and welcoming. We were greeted both on the way in and on the way out.
