I have to admit, Carnegie is usually my last resort; it's rather small and stocks very few of the books that I require. However texts can be ordered in from other Sefton libraries and held for you at a small charge. There are a number of computers available for public use- free of charge, you just have to register with the library- this is a great asset, and there is also a small stock of DVDs and audiobooks. If you are planning to go and work undisturbed in library silence, do check children's hour is not in full swing or you'll be singing along to Old McDonald.
I don't think there are any toilets here and there is no vending machine or cafe for refreshments so come prepared if you're planning a long stay. read more
