Situated on the far west coast of Ireland, Carne Golf Links overlooks Blacksod Bay and the Atlantic Islands of Innis. The course was designed by the country's most famous course architect, Eddie Hackett. It was his last course and many say it is his greatest challenge. The golf course is characterized by the monumental sand dunes that cover its landscape. They were used to create elevated tees, providing golfers with a glimpse of the impending challenges. The layout offers a variety of interesting holes that each have a unique character.
The range is there but it's shag your own ball
Caddies are available and the curse offers full services
The Hackett course is their main course but they also have a newer nine hole course that should be fun when it fully matures
Pro shop and club house is a little sparse and needs a touchup but this course definitely has an "old world" feel despite the fact that it opened in 2005. read more
