Finalmente abbiamo trovato una pizzeria che fa una buona pizza nei sobborghi di Melbourne, la carne molto buona e cottura "medium rare", esattamente come richiesta. Siamo rimasti abbastanza soddisfatti. Un gran bravo ragazzo il proprietario Antonello.

Website says there are two sittings and we booked for the second one, only to have to wait over 30 minutes outside when we arrived on time. Every 5 minutes they told us it would be another 2 minutes... It was only because we continually popped our heads in to ask for an update that they begrudgingly prompted a table from the first sitting to finish up. I don't blame the other diners - its likely they were not made aware of the two sittings rule - but don't advertise such a thing if you're not going to stick to it. No apology was made when we were eventually led to our table. Staff generally seemed to spend most of their time sitting down chatting with the family and friends who seemed to make up half the patrons. Great fun for them I'm sure, but the lack of interest in other patrons is obvious. Back to positives - and they have both a wine list with decently priced nice drops (quite a few good $35 bottles) and an unadvertised $10 corkage fee if you want to bring your own.

Groove Train is a really nice place to grab a meal before heading off the cinemas at Doncaster…read more Located upstairs it is amongst a line of restaurants on the floor - it is bright orange so you cannot miss it! The type of food here is pretty varied - there is a hint of italian in the large range of pizza and pasta, a hint of cafe-style food with the appetisers and large drink menu and hints of many other flavours and styles - each in the form of a different dish. Mains range from around $20-$30 although the servings are quite large so it is good value. Entrees are around $10-$20. The last time I went was with a big group - around ten of us. The staff were quite slow to come and take our order and it took us about five minutes to get one staff members attention and for them to come over. That was a little frustrating but after that the service picked up considerably. We got our drinks quickly and then waited perhaps half an hour for the meals to come out. The pizzas and pastas here are incredible, as are the fish n chips. (My favourite meal). One thing to note is that they do not split bills so make sure to bring cash or have one member of your group pay on credit and organise the rest later. In emergencies there is an ATM below the restaurant on the next level down. I will definitely be headed back there but perhaps I will aim for a quieter night than a Saturday.

Decided to share the special vegetarian pizza, also ordered a coffee. Didn't take long for food to arrive. Smelled and look delicious. We both really enjoyed the pizza and the coffee was good, though a little cold. Would visit again. Has wall to wall windows with city views, mellow music playing in the back ground amongst the hum of the chatter.

I've been to France on the odd occasion, and I must say that every time I was in a Parisian bakery I'd think to myself "Wow, this feels a lot like Blackburn." That's not entirely true, but Blackburn and France are joined with a wonderful bakery serving the most delicious french pastries and more. Wit both owners as pastry chefs, you wont find a better place in a good ten kilometres of here. The only problem I've had every time I go it "What to have?" which often leads to "What to have first?" Vanilla slice with delicious flaky pastry. Tarts. Meringues. Eclairs. Cheesecakes. Truffles. The list goes on. For those after a more savoury selection, there is also pasties, quiches and pies. All bits are made fresh daily on the premises, so the best time to come is mid morning for the best selection available. Come any later and you may miss out. The coffee is a wonderful strong addition to the sugary sweetness of the pastries, and all the energy will keep you going until your next meal.
