Mike and his crew were fantastic! Mike came out and talked with us about what we wanted. He listened and gave really good advice when we asked. Our job included a shed pad and a curved RV pad that wrapped around to the back patio expansion. His quote was very reasonable. The crew came out when they said they would and did a fantastic job. They were patient with our kids running around and were respectful of our neighbors landscaping. We will definitely be using them again for any of our concrete work. I shopped around. I got six bids, asked tons of questions, and evaluated them against the engineering training I had. While they weren't the cheapest, they were middle of the pack and they were by far the most knowledgeable about how concrete should be done right. When they finished their work, they I noticed all the little extras that set this company apart from others, things like brooming the surface, lots of grooves and their placement in a visually appealing way, and their clean-up after they were done. The owner, Mike Carlson is willing to help you plan and walk through your project even when there's still snow on the ground! That's what I did to make sure I'd be on their busy schedule. The crew is seriously THE BEST. Totally efficient--I mean who puts in a giant circular driveway in one afternoon for demolition and one day to prep and pour?! CCC replaced a part of our driveway and the sidewalk and steps to our front door. Everything about the experience was positive. The owner is responsive and reliable. I expected to be without access to my front door for a week or better considering demolition, prep and pour, but his crew had the demolition, prep and pour done in a day and the steps were ready for pedestrian access the following day. I was dissatisfied with Carlson's Custom Concrete installation of my front entry porch and steps (both in appearance and quality of work). Following installation and expressing my dissatisfaction, I was informed by the owner that his work was of high quality and that he wanted me to be satisfied and would make it right. However, he informed me that making it right did not include re-performing the work. He offered to make it right by grinding and/or applying a top coat. When a county building inspector inspected the installation, my permit was issued indicating the steps did not meet code, and that the steps could only be properly remedied through removal and reinstallation (i.e., grinding and top coating would not fix the problem). I initially tried to compensate Carlson's for the work they performed that I was going to retain such as the walkway (i.e., subtracting removal/reinstallation cost from the original bid), but the owner tried to assure me that the steps met code, were of the highest quality, and then sought legal counsel that threatened me with a lawsuit requiring payment. Once it was pointed out by my legal counsel that Carlson's work was illegally contracted and that it did not meet code and had to be removed, the threat went away. Since then, I have had to have the porch and steps removed and re-installed. read more
