This is a smart and stylish restaurant. Well lit and air conditioned but the music is a bit load…read more The usual pizza & pasta but there are steaks too, garlic bread-pizza size, calamari & a steak with a beer for £30; not bad. Presentation was excellent and well cooked with reasonable portions. I have to say the recommendation of filet Rossini was a good one, very nice. All in all better than I expected when I left the hotel, well done hence 4 stars.

Living close, you could wonder why I haven't been before, after visiting for a family occasion (any…read moreexcuse to go out type do), I can say it was very nice. So much so we went again two days later so making this a double review I guess. The staff were very friendly and seemed to genuinely care that you enjoyed the meal (The number of places I visit where they just seem to wait for the time to call at the table and tick the box, yep! done that), here all the staff were genuine. A good look at the menu gave a very nice choice of flavours, their was a specials slip for the fresh seafood dish's of the day (I had a superb Halibut and king prawn dish on the second visit) We all had a starter and main, all very well liked, I had a king prawn starter and tried one of the others calamari (as you do), both perfect. For my main I just had to try the Fillet Rossini as suggested below, my conclusion is, well he's absolutely correct it's excellent! We will be visiting again, they also offer the menu as a take away option, so we are going to try that as well.

I wouldn't usually bother writing a review but 6 of us ate at the villa fiore last night and it was…read moreawful! do not go there!! I won't even mention the 70's decor, stuffed teddies on plinths and the dodgy toilets...?! The starters seemed ok but the main meals were not good, the steak smelt off and was not cooked as requested, veg either near raw or soggy, too much salt on potatoes and when one of our party sent their chicken dish back and asked for a pizza instead they tried to charge us for both on the bill! After that we were not asked if we wanted desert or coffee and had to wait ages for the bill to arrive. To be fair there were only two young waitresses who were far too busy and not very well trained (our waitress dropped a knife on my friend and didn't know when we asked what a certain veg was - which turned out to be slimy boiled artichoke!) the main clientele seemed to be older couples who I assume have lost their sense of taste... If you fancy Italian, Amici's on Low street is far better...go there instead!

Five of us went here last night without booking (we had planned to eat at the Lord Rodney,(qv) but…read morethere was no food available last night!). Service was polite and attentive, but we only had time for a main, and a coffee. Two had chicken dishes, two Scallopini di Vitello alla Marsala, and one a steak dish. All were what I would describe as 'acceptable' without being really haute cuisine. All dishes served with side vegetables , and prices were reasonable.
