I was taken by ambulance to Athens Limestone Hospital. Once there, it was determined that I had a…read morevery serious blood infection that had turned septic and was placed in ICU for the next almost two weeks. All of the doctors, nurses, tech, etc in the ICU were fantastic. After leaving ICU, I was placed on a regular form for an additional 4 days or so. My doctors, again, were fantastic; very personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about me as their patient. Overall, I had a wonderful experience while in Athens Limestone Hospital, as wonderful as one can have being so ill. I would like to address to people directly though. I had nurse by the name of Gabby while on the regular floor. She was horrible. She should not be a nurse, not for Athens Limestone Hospital nor for any other hospital. When she first came into my room, it was immediately obvious that she did not want to be there and could not have cared less about me, as her patient, and presumably about any other of her patients. She was not friendly, did not want to be bothered to helped me, would not answer her page and on many occasions never came into my room to see what I needed and was the only nurse to jab the diabetes needle into my arm, which actually hurt. She is beyond a horrible nurse, and should be fired immediately. She is not a good representative for Athens Limestone Hospital. I would also like to comment on Barbara; she goes by Bam Bam or Jo Jo. She is with the housekeeping staff. She was fantastic. She went above and beyond, way above and beyond, what her job would require her to do. She always had a big smile on her fact when she came into my room, enjoyed talking with me, and genuinely cared how I was doing. She cleaned my room far better than any of the other housekeeping staff, taking the time to go the extra mile. She is a true asset to Athens Limestone Hospital and one that I hope is recognized for her exceptional service. Thank you, Bam. You made my stay at the hospital more enjoyable with your presence.

I had to go up to the desk 3 separate times to ask what was the hold. They wasn't under staff or anything so I asked what was this issue and was never given an answer. This is by far THE WORST HOSPITAL IN NORTH ALABAMA!! I wouldn't dare come back to this hospital ever again! I also sat down for 10 hours straight and on the 11th hour they were just now testing for strep and covid. When I gave them my reasoning for coming, it clearly stated how much pain I had been in! Not only did they not attend to me there was a pregnant couple in the lobby that sat for 8 hours straight before they ever said anything to them! I've stated multiple times to the staff in the front that my throat felt like it was closing let alone I was also told that it would be hours before my name was even called! It is 11:06 and I AM STILL HERE NOT TREATED, heard , or even had my tonsils checked to make sure I didn't have severe closing in my throat. That was the last time I went to them. My insurance covers the treatments, and my new chiropractor told me " how would they know how many treatments you need a year ahead of time? Why isn't your insurance paying anything?" They tried to put me under a payment plan too, and I wasn't going for it, not to mention there's too many people for the appointment, I had the first appointment and there was 4 people already waiting too, too much marketing for this office and not enough patient care/quality time. My opinion, I'd rather drive to Decatur Al and get my dr to do it, than go here.

I have had 4 chiropractors, not including this office in that time and I just moved here. First of all its really loud for a chiropractic office. Sitting in a really loud space where the employees yell to greet you when your trying to be calm and serene is frustrating. Second, while your sitting waiting WATCH the adjustment they give others and you'll see its the same adjustment they give you, unless you bring up an issue. I've been to other chiropractors who have the same open concept and they definitely never did the exact same adjustment on me that they gave to my kids or other patients. This office runs at a really fast pace. I did ask the front desk person if they could slow it down when I'm in there and she said that this place wasn't for me when I brought up my concerns. I was told they will not slow it down when I am in there for my adjustment and that they always run at this fast pace. Last, they never contacted my last chiropractor or asked for my records. To me that tells me they dont care. EVERY CHIROPRACTOR I have ever been to asks for the former chiropractors records. This helps to understand previous care and review previous X-rays to see if there have been improvements. When I brought this up I was asked if I wanted the chiropractor to have my records. REALLY? The fact they didn't care to see my previous records had me stunned. How are you going to taylor my adjustment to MY needs without seeing my past records? It will take loads of adjustments for them to get to know where my issues lie, if they even care. They didn't even take or type notes in my 3 sessions for their records when I looked at the computer to see what was up there. Last, my daughter has been going here for about a year and she even stated they do the same adjustment on her the exact same way every time, unless she has a concern. BIG RED FLAGS PEOPLE. Are you getting the right care for your needs? The staff and doctors can be super nice and upbeat, but is that a mask for the factory they are? ??? How can you get people on a track to better health when each person is different and has different chiropractic needs and your giving the exact same adjustment??? How is doing the same adjustment on each patient unique??? In the chiropractic world thats called cookie cutter and its highly frowned upon.
