First time trying it out. Didn't even know it existed until it popped up on my UberEats list. Price was 5/5. I paid $14.50 for four wings, cabbage, "baked" macaroni and yams. All the sides were two servings. I didn't get a combo meal, I got them all separate which would explain the amount of food. I said "baked" because I couldn't tell if it was. I was looking for the burnt top of the macaroni but it was still good regardless! Cabbage was ok. Ok as in, I don't know if I'd get it again. It was kind of dry. Me personally, I like my cabbage a bit oily and it could've had a bit more seasoning. Don't be alarmed when your chicken looks burnt to hell. It didn't taste burnt at all! I think that's how most jerk places are. But I would just get some chicken wings w a tad bit more meat. Didn't wait long at all for my order which is my favorite part of this place. UberEats told me about 50 minutes but it ended up being done 20 minutes after I placed it then a 10 minute delivery. But all in all. I will definitely go back. I took one star off because some of the oxtail pieces was hard and literally inedible, like your jaws get tired and you just give up. A truly great jerk restaurant with a great menu. I really love their jerk tacos, jerk chicken, and jerk turkey. I've been going to this place for a long time and remembered when they opened and just how good their jerk chicken was then and their jerk sauce. Recently they changed their recipe and it just isn't five star like it was, now I have to give them a four star rating. I am not sure who was responsible for changing the recipe but they really should go back to it, putting even more jerk seasoning on their chicken, and going back to that more golden looking jerk sauce instead of the dark one they now use. Don't get me wrong they are still delicious and great. It is just that I have tasted both versions the one when they first opened and the current version and the first one is superior in my culinary opinion. I have to say that this place has an amazing men from jerk chicken, jerk tacos, jerk ribs, jerk shrimp, oxtails, etc. They really do also give you amazing value for your money! I was lucky to find this joint yesterday evening after a not so good attempt to eat jerk chicken at another restaurant in the neighboring town of Blue Island(soon to be yelped too). Let's just say that I am thankful for being able to do a quick yelp search for jerk chicken and having this place pop up. Thank you fellow yelpers for your reviews. Now.. for the good part, the food!! This place has some seriously good Jerk chicken.. I came here hoping they would have decent food, and I must say that they exceeded my expectations. the chicken was soo juicy and tender, the jerk seasoning was well balanced and just plain delicious. I ordered the plain jerk, but with a side of their BBQ sauce, but it was just so good on its own, i just kept the sauce for dipping my bread.. The dinner I ordered came with red beans & rice, and I chose Mac n' Cheese as my other side. The rice & beans were pretty good, the mac, was not.. The Mac was flavored well, but i found it to be kinda dry and just felt like it was sitting around too long. The service was good, the owner and his family were working the counter and they seemed very nice and helpful with my questions about their menu. The prices are very reasonable and pretty much all the dinner were about $10 but the portions were very generous and well worth it. I didnt have anything negative about the restaurant but just a few minor things that keep it from 5 stars.. First, this is a cash ONLY, so make sure you have stopped at an ATM before you arrive because there is no ATM in the restaurant. This is a very small location and there is not much room to eat in so I recommend taking it to go.. This place is kinda divey so temper your expectations when it comes to decor and location.. I definitely will be back to try some of the other food, the jerk rib tips and Jerk catfish are looking very tempting as are some of the other sides. read more

Couldn't agree more with the previous reviewers. Succulent, tasty chicken prepared jerk style, with a sweet and tangy barbeque sauce as an option. I skipped the meal option, so I can't comment on the sides, but if the chicken is a measure I expect they would be quite good. My only (small) complaint is that the beef patty that I ordered as a sidecar to the chicken was of the packaged, pre-frozen variety. I go to buy some jerk seasoning and have an epiphany I don't have enough time to season the chicken overnight and fix sides and it's already noontime. I in I tells me to get on the cellular and check out (Yelp*!) and read some reviews about Jerk Chicken Restaurants. Caribbean Jerk in Harvey was close by and the reviews were great. I get on the cellular making the call, talking to the owner and after placing the orders, my mind was put a ease and I knew within 20 minutes my problems would be solved. Getting there my food was ready upon arrival. Talking to the owner who had a uncanny resemblance to Bob (Nestor) Marley I in I knows everything is gonna be alright. Getting home with the food there were smiles beaming upon every face when we tasted the juicy spicy Jerk Chicken the great cabbage with carrots and beans with rice a slice of good dense white bread with a container of spicy sauce. Ordered a side of Plantains that were tender and not overly sweet and it was going On and on point. Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. I will be returning to check out more of the Good Eats! read more

The chicken here sososososooo good. A friend of mine had a "bring a dish" type of dinner and I stopped to order chicken. EVERYONE loved it, it was a big hit, price is reasonable and I didn't have to cook. When I walked in around 2 or so the place already had a few customers that looked liked neighborhood folks that were waiting for it to open. You don't dine it, and you don't go for the great decor, this place is all about the food. Jamaican family photos on the wall.. believe this is the real deal... in terms of caribbean food. And it is probably cash only. Oh and watch out..they don't like rude cell phoners who try to talk and order.. there is a sign that is kind of funny right by the order window. The worst Jerk I've ever had & I've tried several places. The chicken was slightly season...nice amount but just not the best flavor. Now the red beans were not good & the cabbage looked horrible, literally like the scraps you would throw out & didn't taste much better. The sauce was spicy but not great...long story short will not be going back. There are not many jerk spots to choose from in the south suburbs but I am glad I found this one. I have only tried the jerk chicken so far and it was pretty good on the second try. The first time I had it there was barely any jerk flavor. I guess enough people complained and they kicked it up a notch. I ordered a half white and they actually had it. So many jerk spots will tell you they don't have all white. The chicken tasted fresh and was not dry. It took quite a while to get my order so I highly suggest you call your order in.
