Within the first few minutes, I was no longer nervous as the team was very professional and explained the whole procedure to me. They also assessed my skin tone to ensure that they had the right setting to match it and also for the treatment I needed. During the procedure, the aesthetician was really gentle and ensured I was comfortable and also kept me informed of what to expect next. When the procedure was complete, I was given the nicest cooling mask to relax my face. The after care process was also explained to me before I left. My recovery was really quick - my face was a bit red (like I had been exposed to a little too much sun) the rest of the day but the next day, there was no sign I had anything done on it. She had an earring stuck in her ear, which was completely stuck and infected, and I could not remove it at home. I was relieved to have an appointment scheduled for the next morning. Around 11 a.m., a nurse from AbleCare called and informed me that our family doctor could not see my daughter today, without any clear explanation. I explained the full situation to the nurse, including that her condition was serious, and that she could not wait until tomorrow -- she needed to be seen immediately. The nurse said she would speak to the doctor and call me back, but I never received a follow-up call. This cancellation caused unnecessary delay and stress. After several attempts to reach the clinic, I was finally able to speak with another nurse around 1:30 p.m., who arranged for my daughter to be seen by Dr. Morne Smit, who is the head of the clinic. When we arrived, Dr. Morne Smit examined my daughter and said she needed a small injection to numb her ear before removing the earring. My daughter was scared and resisted receiving the injection. Dr. Smit initially stated that he would leave and not perform the procedure because my daughter was not his patient and was unwilling to receive the injection, and suggested coming back the next day. However, after examining her, he recognized that there was an infection in her ear and ultimately performed the procedure and prescribed antibiotic cream. Despite this, his attitude was unprofessional and showed a complete lack of empathy. Overall, I found the clinic's communication and responsiveness disappointing. I appreciate the help of the kind nurse.

I brought up the fact that their online booking system wasn't working shortly after moving to the clinic. It was really hard to get the message through but finally they said they looked into it and fixed it. The next time I tried to book online, same problem so they didn't fix anything. I sent an email telling them again that it was not working, and the person I was communicating with had NO idea what I was telling her. She kept saying it was due to an issue that had NOTHING to do with the problem (because the issue was happening long before the reason she advised it wasn't working). Very frustrating and not worth remaining at the clinic. I have no problem with the doctors there but the front desk staff have no idea what they're doing, have not customer service and never answer the phone. It seriously takes less time to drive to the clinic and book an appointment than to make an appointment on the phone. They also kill the call if you've waited on hold for 30 minutes which has happened to me several times so you have to call back. How can a clinic be this badly organized?

In my whole life, I have never seen an MOA wear slippers in a medical office while eating a bag of chips at the front counter. There were multiple times her and her staff would laugh very loud and make jokes while in front of patients waiting for their appointments. I found this very contradictory when I overheard her telling one of her MOAs how to write an email and sound more professional. If you decide to be her patient, you'll find out very quickly that she treats her patients as cash cows. She will penalize you $100 if you're a no show or don't cancel your appointment prior to 24hrs notice. But when you show up for you appointment, you maybe required to wait up to 2hrs. Once you have your appointment with her, she will rush it and prevent you asking any questions or leave you unsatisfied/confused not knowing what action or follow up is required. Therefore, you maybe need to make another appointment and wait for weeks just to continue from the previous appointment session. When she found out I got a second opinion from another doctor, she jumped to conclusion and made false accusations that I have another family doctor. When I asked her for my records, she refused to do so by justifying that I am no longer her patient and immediately changed my status on her system. Virginia does not demonstrate any interest in her patient's welling being. She operates her office as if it's a fast food restaurant

I was in there to ask about what I could do about sunspots on my face as they seem to be getting worse every year. I know people who have "burned" or lasered them off or use microdermabrasion, etc... so I wanted to know my options. In what took about 30 seconds - this dr. blurted out 2 fancy names for the types of sunspots I have on my face, told me that because I have "dark skin" (FYI - I actually have very fair skin but because I am not caucasian, my skin is considered to be "dark") - he doesn't recommend removing them because the results could be worse. I then asked if there were any other treatment options or creams - he said there was nothing that he knew of that actually works. In the 9 minutes and 30 seconds that followed, he proceeded to talk non-stop about the vacation spot that my family and I were planning on going to (suggesting places to go, where to eat, etc...). It was like he HAD to spend 10 minutes with me and it didn't matter how those 10 minutes were spent. What a complete waste of time! If your family physician refers you to this guy - ask for someone else!
