After visiting this urgent care 100% understand why. The staff was amazing and very welcoming. I had no anxiety in the office whatsoever, the receptionist was very open to answering any questions I had and very patient with me. Along with the nurses assistant walking me through everything, and the nurse practitioner was very adamant about finding a solution to my problem. Which made me feel a lot of relief about the experience. This is one of the best urgent cares I've been to in my lifetime. I would recommend this experience to anyone if needed, of course.

My first visit to this Primary Care office and possibly the last. The office was nice, the front…read morestaff very friendly. But as a new patient, the provider encounter was lacking. I was not given a chance to voice concerns or ask questions at the end of the visit. There was no clarifying questions asked about my family or personal health history. For example, I listed insomnia as a diagnosis. I am not taking any medication for it. No questions about how I am sleeping. I put down I had a pulmonary embolism 1.5 years ago with a positive family history, but no questions about why I am not taking a blood thinner. I have a recurring health issue, but no questions about that. No request to have my medical records sent. Did not ask if I needed refills (I didn't). This was a visit where information gathering was expected and important for upcoming care. I feel that opportunity was wasted. I was disappointed that this was a no go for me. I have had excellent providers the past 25 years plus, so maybe my expectations were unrealistic.

Made that appointment in January with the patient portal. Now lets just say that I have experienced bad experiences with other doctors and am knowledgeable and know what I want as a patient. I have specific goals and used the patient portal to share with them yesterday. For instance fasting blood draws once a year because in the past I felt like faint while the blood is drawn. Just saying that people around my age may also question doctors and their ways.Also maybe i am the only one who said to have this experience, at least i was open. Also stated to not mention the gynocologist because I had a bad experience at one. Got a call later on that day from cmc saying that Brooke felt like it wasn't a good fit. Now while 4 stars for telling me now. But 2 stars because "they recommend things that may help maintain your healthcare, and your healthcare is limited." To add, i moved from NY, and am very pro choice about what healthcare means to a patient. What I am saying is that just because a doctor recommends something, it is ultimately up to the patient to choose to take further action. Duly note that I also wrote a book about my bad experiences as well. It can mean that the patient goes to less doctors because they find it traumatizing.To the least I let them know prior to the appointment! To all the doctors-- you don't know if a patient had a bad experience before seeing you, It seemed like she didn't want to personalize healthcare based upon the patient. While I am happy that I was let know- i thought it was unprofessional that they canceled my appointment and was unable to honor it, as well as state that the other providers at this location didn't want to accommodate me. That's not right. Why not just try in person- maybe i'm not what you think! Not to mention that the wait for new patients right now- some doctors are until June! (luckily did find an appointment in May with another provider not at this location!) CMC postal way providers- why not personalize each and everyone's healthcare experience. The staff was nice and pleasant though. Despite that I don't recommend the providers or this location. Beware of here!

Went here for the 1st time on Wednesday May 6th 2026. My mom came too but it was an appointment for…read moreme. Finally got to see a doctor down here, made this appointment online as well. Easy to get to, easy to find parking, walked in and was greeted by a pleasant staff member who checked me in, and got me started on paperwork. After no time at all, maybe like 5 minutes, the nurse called me in, and checked my weight and blood pressure. Nurse Crystal was very pleasant, and also remembered that I had completed paperwork on the portal that stated my medications, so in turn didn't have to fill it out again. Dr. Desmond Ponder was very nice, respected what I had to say, and I felt listened to. He prescribed me a refill of thyroid medication and an allergy medication. Now, he did mention the gynocologist and how I am "due" for a pap, but he said whenever you are ready let me know. Didn't say this but i don't think i would ever be ready. Also to add, i did message on the portal beforehand about mentioning the gyno, and prefer it not mentioned at all due to a bad experience. (Yelpers- my first review if you want to look at it!) He also ordered a blood draw, and unfortunately it is fasting. a little meh because again, in the portal I said that i have felt faint during blood draws, and believe it would help to not fast. For me, nonfasting is a better option. Maybe next appointment i'll ask. Though I do understand since it is my first blood draw with this provider maybe he wants to get a baseline, then my wishes can be respected. To add, blood draws here are just whatever the doctor ordered, can do it when one wants to, for me, as long as I fast. Oh, and also no indication of having my records when i knew some of them were on the portal, I sent them over to another provider at CMC, shouldn't they automatically get transfered? Overall, and other than that, the doctor was very pleasant, and I felt respected and listened to. To add, after the visit, I have been upset because Dr. Ponder prescribed me levocetirizine , a allergy medication, that is taken at night- and in my case, I have been taking claritin (Store brought) during the day, and it is marketed as a non-drowsy medication; this was also in the portal as well, and should have been referenced to. Especially since claritin works well for me. maybe claritinex would be better for me. But with the allergy precriptions I am concerned about the drug interactions, especially with what I take for menstrual cramps. Maybe this is all a simple mistake, but patient preferences should be considered. I also already mentioned this in the feedback form, and the customer service email. Oh, and follow up results will be sent on the portal. Which is ideal for me. I'll also have an appointment in November, and look forward to seeing him then. Overall, Doctor was pleasant and his staff both reception and nurses were pleasant. Highly recommend here! Anything to make doctor visits less stressful!

It was marked top priority…read more Carolina Health Specialist Dr. Sherrill, had moved to a private practice so they just threw the referral away. When we hadn't heard anything we called them to check on it. They told us they hadn't gotten it. We then called Dr. Shore who ordered it and they resent it to them. Again they threw it away without telling anyone the situation. When we finally figured out what was happening and called Dr. Sherrell to schedule he can't get in until July. The whole thing is total negligence. They are risking my husbands life with it. Not a good experience by any means!
