When I got there I almost felt they treated me as I had a drug habit. They didn't seem to take me very seriously. I turned out having a rare disease 1,000 reported per year, 1 in 5 die from! To add accident to injury, they made me wear a halter monitor for 30 days, which I protested as they had done it before and was useless. Anything I felt, did not report to the monitor. It turned out they didn't get this authorized, as they were supposed to. I got a $3,000 bill, and called them. They advised my Insurance (BC/BS) denied the bill as it was not authorized by their office.. They stuck me with the bill and are now SUING me for the money. I have been bedridden for 5 months, and could not pay them $3,000 when they served the papers to my "ex" husband! I should also mention I lost my disability claim because they were too lazy to give the State copies of my Cardio records. I now have to wrestle my records from them, and find a new Cardiologist because the staff is less than competent. Nor am I willing to pay $3,000 to them, when I was already paying $600/month for the Health Insurance!

That was couple years ago n I won't go anywhere else now. Yes, sometimes u have to wait a while even though u had an appt, but this is because she gives all her patients enough face time, thoroughly evaluates you and genuinely cares about anything that could be wrong w/you. She takes same day appts and THAT is hard to find too. The office a beige, older house that was converted to an office on 112, but I go there for the service. Her nurses have all been great. Always very nice! Abid, the practice Mgr, is one of the warmest people ever and truly cares about their patients like Dr. Shilpee does. Christina at the front desk who makes all the appts and is prob the office Mgr always really does go above and beyond to get you in ASAP n very flexible w appts too. She cares just as much as everyone else there and WILL get you in. That's the most important thing. Dr. Shilpee is sweet and very knowledgeable. I've since referred my mom there who agrees w/everything said here n made her her GP as well. She just loves her very thorough care and won't go anywhere else for past couple yrs too. This yr I also got my boyfriend a 1st time appt so he can get his Covid test needed for travel n once again she scheduled him immediately. Now he goes for physicals and Covid tests regularly. Def appreciate it and really appreciate Dr Shilpee!

I have gone to several podiatrists before this and have never received a bill like this. And other podiatrists do more than what the podiatrist at Medical Associates did. I am extremely disappointed with this office and will not be returning. I do not recommend this office or this practice in general at all.

I struggled for a while to find someone who wanted to tackle some of the issues I was having. I still feel like I'm off in the weeds at times but at least I have Laporta. This country's system is the problem. What they've done to us financially, nutritionally, psychologically... I digress. LaPorta office is decent, a lot of aggravation with scripts being sent wrong or not at all, but at least she's there for me; it's tough to get appointments at times and I just have to call a few too many times for my liking, but maybe she's just that popular
