This animal hospital has potentially saved my cat's life…read more My 10 year old cat, Jitters, had been having difficulty walking around the house. I took her to a vet in Fort Pierce, who told me that the cause of her obvious discomfort was litter stuck in her paw pads. I accepted this answer and moved on. A week or so later, I notice her walking difficulty return. I check her paws and remove any litter I find. Yet despite this, it doesn't seem to improve. I become more anxious and begin to monitor her even more closely than before. Then it happens: one morning, she becomes ill. Vomiting and pooping on the carpets, with seemingly no possible cause. Panicked, I called Morningside Animal Hospital and explained my emergency. They told me to come in immediately, which I did. Upon arrival I was greeted by kind staff, and without much of a wait, I was taken into an examination room with my cat. The woman who examined Jitters to start was very kind, though I can't quite recall her name. I believe it was Nuvia/Juvia, or something along those lines. (If she reads this, I apologize for my terrible memory with names!) After the initial examination, Dr. Sean Giusti came in to see my cat. He was extremely kind. Without any tests at all, he claimed that my cat may have diabetes, which was a shock to hear considering the prior diagnosis I had been given at the other vet! (Which, might I add, I will NEVER go near again.) Dr. Giusti had tests run on Jitters, and sure enough, she was diabetic. We immediately began the proper treatment regime and started to aim for a hopeful future for my little fur child. She's doing much better now, and if we're lucky and it's in God's greater plan, she just might reach remission! Though I'm not yet sure what the outcome of this will be, I can confidently say that Dr. Giusti and the staff at Morningside have given me the brightest glimmer of hope for the life of my cat. Without these incredible people, who knows what would have happened to Jitters. Pebbles in her paw pads? Not quite. I highly recommend this incredible establishment to anyone with a furry family member. These people genuinely care for the animals they see, and the people who bring them in. I have complete faith in their practices and I'm looking forward to continuing on my journey with them to help Jitters return to full health so she can live out the rest of her life as a happy kitten at heart. And before I forget to mention, they've also treated my newest family member, a 12 week old kitten by the name of Ezio. Not only did they bring peace to my mind with their examination, they also caught his fleas before they could progress and worsen. I know that in their hands, my new little guy will grow up to be happy and healthy. This animal hospital truly is a blessing.

She came in the house frantically shaking her head as if her muzzle had been stung by bees. Mouth foaming was next followed by vomiting up her dinner and staggering. As the Emergency Vet put it, "She acted like she was drunk". IMMEDIATE ACTION is necessary to save your pet!! Internet advice claims attention must be done within 15 minutes!! Use a wet washcloth to carefully wash out your pets mouth and gums-rise the washcloth thoroughly between washings -we used 3 washcloths to be sure they were clean of Bufo toxins. Do NOT use a hose to wash out their mouths or allow them to drink water as this could force the toxins into their lungs and cause mortal aspiration! Then rush them to your closest Vet ER!! We bat outta hell'ed it to The VETERINARY MEDICAL CENTER OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY on US1 south of Prima Vista! Open 24 hours a day!! I cannot celebrate enough the fast actions and important care they took with our Gracie! Her vitals looked good (quick actions are imperative!!) but they had us stay for an additional 30 minutes to be certain she didn't have a delayed seizure, which, incidentally, they could have treated with medication. The Vet Med Center sent us home- then amazingly refused to charge anything for their remarkable care as the Vet herself didn't need to address our dog's problem. Huge shout out to the Veterinarian Medical Center of St. Lucie County! While I'm at it- Be sure and protect your pets from Leptospirosis! The inoculations are NOT 100% so it's important to be sure your pets are not eating or drinking anything an infected rodent might have helped themselves to, as in puddles or standing water. It's not a bad idea to keep them indoors at night (Although, as we found out, dusk can be dangerous, too!)! Keep your pets safe! After all, they're cherished family members! The Vet Medical Center is open 24/7. Their number is: (772) 919-8049. Web site: https://www.vetmedcenterslc.com

During this pandemic, my Belgian Malinois' accidentally mated (Despite my fiancé's best efforts to…read morepull them apart ‍) Due to my previous job, and traveling across the United States, my dogs primary vet was Banfield. ( whom I would NOT recommend to my worst enemy ) I received a ton of misinformation due to pregnancy in dogs and had no choice but to allow her to have what supposedly should've only been 4 puppies- Well, 4 turned out to be 7. And being 9 months pregnant MYSELF, keeping up with 7 Belgian Malinois puppies has been no easy feet!! Of course, MY pick of the litter started favoring his left hind leg, and it seemed to be progressively be getting worse. With him being only 4 weeks old, needless to say, I was concerned. So, I did what any dog mom would do- called all the vets I could think of, and wouldn't you know it, during the weekend- No one could see us until Monday. Except Guardian.. The receptionist had initially said the same thing, but upon further conversation, she showed such compassion for us, and was able to squeeze us in as a walk-in. They came out to my car, walked me through what was happening, and eventually took Blue inside with them. But despite their best efforts, he was in so much pain, they couldn't extend his leg to get a good x-ray. They sent us home with some pain reliever and anti-inflammatory & scheduled us another appt. for Monday. I must've called a billion times with questions and concerns, but they never seemed annoyed or impatient. Each and every member of the staff showed such empathy, and walked me through everything. I never once felt overbearing or like I was (or going to be) being nickeled and dimed. The pricing is VERY fair and I was never blindsided with any hidden fees. Do you know how RARE that is at a veterinarian office? It couldn't have gone ANY better. Guardian, you have a incredible office and an amazing, compassionate staff. I'm thoroughly impressed with the care Blue & I received and how professional, empathetic & accommodating everyone was. I'll be bringing all my fur babies there in the future, including this new litter. I know, without a doubt in my mind, that they will be receiving the BEST care. Thank you Guardian for all that you do.

Because we did not have an appointment, we were told that we would not be allowed in the examination room with her. We understood and accepted that. When the doctor came back out with Tula, we were told that she either had an infection or potentially mammary cancer. Despite the possibility of something as serious as cancer, Tula was only given an antibiotic injection and a spray. No bloodwork was performed, and we were not advised that she needed bloodwork or any additional testing at that time. I am only 15 years old, and I was there with my dad, who does not have much knowledge about dogs or veterinary care. As the professionals, we trusted the veterinarians to recognize when Tula needed further testing or evaluation. We followed their instructions and used the spray they gave us, but Tula continued to get worse. We had a follow-up appointment on July 10. By then, Tula was extremely lethargic, had very pale gums, and was barely eating. When we met with the doctor, she told us that she did not know what was wrong with Tula and even said that in her 50 years of working, she had never seen anything like this. Bloodwork was finally performed, and we were referred to a cancer center. Sadly, Tula passed away less than 24 hours after that appointment. When we received the bloodwork results, we learned that Tula had a rare form of cancer. I understand that cancer may not have been something that could have been cured, and I am not claiming that a different outcome was guaranteed. What hurts the most is that Tula did not deserve to spend her final days suffering. She could have potentially been made comfortable, and we could have had the opportunity to make decisions about her care sooner instead of watching her condition deteriorate. If we had known how serious her condition was, we could have at least considered letting her go peacefully rather than watching her suffer. Tula was only 7 years old. She was the most energetic, loving dog and was full of life. Watching her slowly lose her spark and eventually take her last breaths is something I will never forget. I trusted Guardian Veterinary Medical Center to take care of my dog, and they failed Tula. They are unprofessional and I HIGHLY recommend not to take ur pet here.

Our kitty needed to have a large cyst removed from above her eye so we made our appt. and met Dr. Finch for the first time. This man was so caring and gentle with our cat answered all our questions and let us know that because of the location of the cyst the surgery could be tricky, but he felt all would go well. We set an appt. for her surgery and picked her up the same day. We had to bring her back in a week to be checked and all went so well. I will tell you that the Acacia Animal Clinic is not one of the high tec vet clinics that there are an abundance of, it is a small practice with small rooms, but is clean and everyone there from the initial greeting from the receptionist to the doctors assistant and Dr. Finch himself were just the nicest people you would want to deal with. His prices are more then fair and you can just tell he cares about your pet. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Finch to anyone who is in need of a vet for a new pet or looking to change because you are not happy where you are. I am so glad we found him. In the beginning years I found this veterinary service excellent but as time went on my opinion changed. Recently these are a few of the issues I have had. A few months back my dog had an appointment for a health certificate to travel abroad. The vet who took care of us found that the dog had an ear infection. Medication was prescribed but a culture was not taken to find out exactly what antibiotic should be used. Following application of this prescribed drug my dog went deaf within 3 days. Come to find out this is a possible side effect of this medication of which we were never informed. Upon returning to the vet to be seen because of this complication the vet was uncaring and dismissive. When I stated my dog needs to hear my commands the response was "oh well, you can teach him hand signals". Upon notifying Dr Reis about this she started to treat my dog, at her expense, with acupuncture. Fortunately this has helped to a degree. Another issue is the constant wait time for a scheduled appointment. Every time I have brought my dog in there is always a long wait. I had a scheduled 10:35 appointment this week which I arrived on time for but was left sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes, then taken into the examination room and waited another 30 minutes. At no point did any staff member even acknowledge that I was there. After this hour wait I decided to leave. Stopped at the receptionist desk and told them I was leaving. No explanation was given to me. I found this to be unacceptable because it wasn't the first time this has happened. Today I requested all my dog's records and started with a new veterinary service.

I'm giving two out of five stars for a few reasons…read more Dr. Wade does seem capable and knowledgable and she clearly has a passion for animals. That said, her time management could definitely use some improvement. I scheduled our first appointment, and the day before, I was asked to move it up an hour, which I agreed to. Then, on the day of the appointment, there was another request to switch back to the original time. I held back my frustration, as although I agreed, I was forced to rearrange our calendar at short notice. Regarding our second visit; shortly after confirming the 10:30AM appointment, I received a text asking if she could come an hour earlier, as she was apparently trying to accommodate another client. I agreed, but then received another text shortly thereafter asking us to return to the original time of 10:30AM. Honestly, it feels like there's a perception that people don't have busy lives and that the onus is on the client to accommodate her other patients. It's inconvenient and causes difficulties for people. The next morning Dr. Wade showed up at 9:15AM, 75 minutes early, insisting that leaving an unanswered voicemail and text justifies disregarding our scheduled appointment time. I turn my phone off at night so I did not get her communications; meaning that she got no affirmation that that would be okay with us. Dr Wade claimed that her patients appreciate it when she arrives early. Ten or 15 minutes might be okay, but I am confident that most people do not think that showing up early an hour and a half plus in the AM is acceptable. It wouldn't have stuck in my craw so much however, when I attempted another honest discussion with her regarding this issue, instead of accepting responsibility, Dr. Wade claimed that perhaps I was confused with another veterinarian who services our area. I had to acknowledge to myself what I was dealing with and quickly lost all confidence in her willingness to address the situation honestly. Humility is a virtue and I sincerely hope that that once Dr. Wade is a bit more seasoned, she might realize the importance of being more considerate towards clients in that aspect of her business. In any case, this is the second time (out of two visits) that the scheduling has inconvenienced us and that really isn't conducive to a good client/doctor relationship in my opinion. Another concerning issue is that Dr Wade insists that you order medications from an online pharmacy that is directly linked to her website. Not surprisingly, the pricing is significantly higher than regular avenues like Chewy, Costco, CVS and even our own compounding pharmacy. Further, there is a required $19.95 "expedited 3 business day delivery fee". This is another problematic hoop to jump through. Because of the exorbitant pricing, I had to insist that she call in the script to my preferred pharmacy. She did, but with the following text message, which I found to be dismissive and brash: "We just got your text. We were closed New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. We got Chewy's email. We'll give a verbal approval this one time." I will say that Dr. Wade seems up-to-date on testing, treatments, and studies related to pet care, which we did appreciate, but her platform just isn't the right fit for us. I would suggest contacting Midway Veterinary, Dr. Holland has been in the business for 40 years, the office is very accommodating and the staff is fantastic.
