We had a difficult set of needs to fulfill, since we have pets, and we did not want to sign a year-long lease. Even though Housing Solutions does not manage rentals directly, Matt put me in touch with several other landlords and property managers who fit our needs. Fast forward a few months. We decided to start seriously looking for houses to buy. I sent Matt a list of must-haves, nice-to-haves, and shoot-for-the-moons. At the end of the email, I told him our ultimate dream was to live on a lake in the mountains, but we didn't expect that to happen with our first house. Matt immediately responded, letting me know he knew of a house that had just been taken off the market for the winter, but was due to go back on in the Spring. It had lake views, lake access, all of our must-haves, and most of our nice-to-haves... all in our budget! He arranged a showing for us, and we both immediately fell in love with the house (although admittedly, my husband was being a bit more cautiously optimistic than I was, as I immediately began referring to it as "our house," haha). Since this was literally the first house we had ever looked at, and since we had the luxury of time because the house wasn't an active listing, we asked Matt to show us some other houses all around the Upper Valley to get a feel for what else we could get in our budget. Matt knew we weren't going to find anything more fitting of our needs than that first house, yet he patiently met with us several more times to show us another 10 houses or so. Throughout the entire process, he was very candid, honest, and helpful. Since this was our first time buying a house, he patiently explained how everything worked, and answered all of our dumb questions. I also took comfort in knowing that Housing Solutions is a buyer's only agency, and so we wouldn't run into any conflicts of interest like you sometimes can if you go through an agency that may also be representing the seller. Ultimately, we ended up putting in an offer for the first house. Matt helped us through the offer, counter-offer, inspections, and closing process. He referred us to just about everyone we used throughout the buying process, and everything was smooth and painless under his guidance. Recently rented in Quechee to attend to the 4th of July celebration and while our own rental…read morecompany (NOT Quechee Lakes Real Estate) could not help is trying to get tickets to the celebration, Herb who is the owner of Quechee Lakes Real Estate went above the call of duty. I approached him literally out of the blue and asked him if he could help us as member of Quechee Lakes. Not knowing me at all he sympathized with the plight of our family to attend the celebration even. He sponsored us to be able to get tickets and enjoy the celebration with my whole family. We had a great time. So while I did not purchase a home through Herb, I was unbelievable grateful that he would help total strangers who travelled to VT from Hilton Head, SC. It speaks to his character and willingness to put a very VT personal touch on things where as our rental company had been outsourced to a national chain and I had to deal with support from another country. One of, if not the worst, agents selling Quechee VT real estate. If you list with him he will tell you your asking price is too high. If you purchase with him, he will tell you that the seller's house is listed too high. He is interested in one and only one thing... His commission. Find yourself another agent or agency. Dealing with him is an exercise in futility!!

The maintenance team is very responsive and helpful. The dog park is a great feature along with the club house and gym. The gym could be a bit bigger but overall is a great space. I've lived here for four years now, at first with my husband, then with my cat and now with our son…read moreas well. We've grown our family and moved from a one bedroom to a two bedroom in our time at Timberwood Commons. I was pregnant at the time so they even offered to help us move which saved us so much time and money. They've gone above and beyond to make our experience here the best that there is with apartment living. When heating rates doubled, I talked to them about how our Nest Thermostat (smart thermostat that can be controlled with your phone) had been saving us money- what did they do? They installed one for everyone in the complex. Amazing. My advice to anyone living here or moving in is that you go to them with any issue or request because they've been exceedingly flexible and helpful to us at every turn. The apartment itself is beautiful, new looking (even the one we moved into that had been lived in before us). We had a baby and kids living above us and rarely heard the softest of a baby cry if you were listening carefully and, having our own infant, my mom ears probably only heard it because of that. We sleep trained our baby when he was older and our next door neighbor said he never heard a thing (as we were sure to make sure this didn't disturb him). When I was pregnant and couldn't walk up stairs because of complications they modified our ground level apartment so we could walk out of the porch (by installing a door) so I could get to my car without stairs right to my car- 10 feet away. Made it possible for me to leave the house on my own which was a lifesaver (and a job saver). The property management has always been incredibly friendly and helpful with every question, request and transition in our life. As my husband graduates his fellowship soon, we will be moving soon but will be sad to leave as finding another apartment with this kind of service is likely impossible. I'd also add we share the electrical line with the hospital and even through storms where most of town has lost power, we never have- not even during the hurricane. So that's a huge plus too!

Their building managers and staff could use a real lesson in etiquette. Also, not COIVD friendly at all. They barely clean on their designated saturdays. The place is consistently filthy. The place is marketed at "luxurious" prices but once that contract is signed it is anything but luxurious! STAY AWAY!!

The Secretary will harass you. There is a late fee on everything. There was a restaurant across from my building and there was always people parking in my assigned parking. There is a small laundry room and I have had tenants take my cloths out of a washer and a dryer in the middle of the cycle to start their own laundry. In the winter they have several buildings and one plow truck for snow removal. So there is a good chance you will be stuck until mid afternoon before they plow. Renting here was a nightmare. The landlords have absolutely no compassion or empathy for people. It's all about money with them. I had a neighbor who was really noisy. I called the police on him 8 times. My landlord called the police on his m 2 times and I called my landlord about him over 45 times within 1 years. The landlord did nothing about it .
