I was on the operating table getting ready for eye surgery and the anastetheologist said it looks like I was in A-Fib. I was told no surgery until I get the all clear from a cardiologist. Well, I didn't have a cardiologist, so a friend recommended Dr. Arab- and thankfully they got me in a few days later and he gave me the all clear to have surgery. I came back a few weeks later to have my A-Fib looked at and the entire staff have been incredible throughout this journey. Every staff member I meet, every doctor I see, has been friendly, helpful and knowledgable and have helped my immensely. Even though they are an hour drive away from my home, it is worth the trek- plus I get to stop by Buc-ees every time! I cannot recommend this clinic enough! read more

This review is about the entire Cardiology Physicians practice (Florida) and their irresponsible attitude and judgment about patients. So, I was told I should wear a mobile heart monitor for about a week. I was told I'd be called in for a fitting. So, I waited and waited. Then one day a UPS delivery truck stopped by and dropped off a box that I did not expect. It turned out to be a Philips MCOT (mobile cardiac telemetry). As I didn't expect this, I suspected Cardiology Physicians, so tried to call in to verify that this delivery is from them. "Tried" is the operative word. After two days of multiple unanswered calls and voice messages going into a black hole, I drove to the office to find out. Yes, this box was from Cardiology Physicians, but they had ordered it in my name without my approval. In other words, this box was my responsibility to pay for. I owned it and it cost $10,000 (that is Ten Thousand Dollars) - not including doctor fees. I opened the box and discovered a nightmare of gadgets, wires, chargers, a customized cell phone, and two booklets and two pamphlets of instructions. In the instructions it warned me that if I don't return this box and everything in it I'll be billed the full cost. It took me over an hour of reading confusing and overwrought instructions before I even started dealing with this pile of tech gimmicks. Once I set it up, I started getting threatening messages on the cell phone (that's their custom cell phone) that if I don't return the box "promptly" I'll be charged! One problem with this setup was that I had to keep the cell phone with me all the time! Now I had to carry two cell phones. Anyway, I got through the week of monitoring and packed up everything, put it into the provided UPS bag and took it to a UPS store to be shipped back. A couple of days later I checked the tracking number to see if the box was delivered. Instead, panic set in when I discovered that UPS did not recognize the tracking number. After hours of phone calls, web searches and a visit to the UPS store, I was told that the UPS return label that was provided to me was obsolete (already used). They said that the tracking number shows that an item delivery was made 6 months ago! So, now I'm sweating that my MCOT box is lost and I'm on the hook for ten grand. I got lucky. After a week and half the box had reached its destination (at Philips). Note that if the box had been lost, the problem was all on me. Cardiology Physicians had no role or responsibility in this, even though they defrauded me by ordering something in my name, without my approval. All I agreed to, verbally, was to wear a monitor. There is more. Four months after I sent back the box, I get a billing form Philips for the portion of the cost that insurance didn't pay. Something else to look out for: I do mention "Philips" here, but Philips is the hardware manufacturer (name on the box). In fact, there are about 3 or 4 other organizations that seem to be intermediaries in operating and processing this scam. I complain about the number of entities involved with this monitor because each one will bill your insurance, and then you for any unpaid portion. So, you go to Cardiology Physicians and they interject about 4 more companies between them and you, the patient. If anything goes wrong, Cardiology Physicians is completely immune and will disavow any responsibility for anything. Their role appears to be to bilk the insurance/Medicare for an exorbitant amount of money for something that should cost about $3000 retail and be hooked up within a few minutes in a doctor's office, and then returned to the doctor's office. Cardiology Physicians' irresponsible judgment and callousness is seen the fact they do not understand that they are dealing with people with likely heart problems, typically older people. That's people with zero patience for bull excrement and game playing. These "heart doctors" are subjecting their patients to stress, anxiety, potential financial disaster, and an epic run-around. read more

Their front desk scheduling folks are extremely unhelpful and disrespectful. I called in today to see what were the needed items to put together an appointment for my father's referral for vascular surgery along with understanding the rough timeline to when an actual appointment could be scheduled after reviewing his imaging reports & his referral notes. I understood that there are specific policies and procedures that UoF has to take and implement. There are policies and procedures that almost all companies must take. However, I did not appreciate their lack of concern and urgency. Along with that, I did not appreciate that the front desk/nurse kept repeating the policies and procedures, which felt like I was being talked down upon for not "understanding". This lack of basic human empathy and concern is disgusting and clearly should not be represented in a space that is meant for people to come to for help. read more

If you're looking for a caring cardiologist with a caring staff, this is not the doctor you should choose. I had a heart attack and was not able to choose my cardiologist. Even though Dr. Quadrat always seemed cold, distant, and disconnected during our office visits and his office was an hour away from my home, I appreciated that he was available and willing to do the stent procedure on me during my time of need, so I continued to see him for a year afterward. After a year, he ordered a stress test/PET scan. He said depending on the results of the test, I may not need to continue the medication I was on, or I could continue it at a reduced strength. A medical assistant called me with the results of the test. All she said was the test was normal. I remained quiet for a moment, waiting for more information but received none. I started asking specific questions, so she started reading the report to me. She couldn't tell me what the word "ischemia" meant as she read it off the report. When I asked her what it meant, she told me to google it. She had trouble pronouncing even simpler words in the report (and she was a native speaker of English). I kept pressing for additional information; I mean important health-related information. I asked for her name and her title, and she left the line a moment. A voice came on the phone; a woman who did not introduce herself immediately asked in a bullying tone who is this on the line. I proceeded to tell her and she told me she was going to talk to me because I was "abusive" to the medical assistant. I denied that I was "abusive" and I ignored her bullying tone and continued to press for important health updates. All I wanted was to reconcile what Dr. Quadrat had told me in the office and this report of "normal" as there seemed to have been no instructions from him on how I was to proceed as far as medications, the condition of my arteries (which caused the heart attack), etc. All this PA could do was read the report as well. She finally asked me if I wanted to make an appointment with the doctor, and I agreed that would be best. So I did that. About a half hour after making the appointment, I received a call from the office telling me they cancelled my appointment and all future appointments and I should find another cardiologist because I had evidently "mistreated" the staff. I, in fact, had felt that they had disrespected and bullied me simply because I had questions--questions that were important to me and what I had to do going forward--but they showed little concern. I had a previous experience with this PA from my last visit when the PET scan was scheduled. I told her I was claustrophobic and needed something to relax me during the PET scan. She curtly said that if I wanted something to relax me during the PET scan I needed to get that from my primary care physician. I mean with any previous MRI's other doctors had ordered, the doctor always asked if I was claustrophobic and prescribed something just for the test. Dr. Quadrat didn't even do that (cold, uncaring, disconnected). I had actually already decided to seek another cardiologist even before they "cancelled" me. I repeat. If you've had a heart attack, save yourself the additional stress and find a caring cardiologist with a caring staff. read more

Had a stress test done by their lab. The PA told me everything went great. Dr. Quadrat came into the office 5 minutes later and I expressed my relief that all had gone well. He then told me "Yes, but you may have had a heart attack". I immediately moved everything to Mayo. If it was a joke it was inappropriate, if it was real... well, I don't know. Also will not return calls, and act surprised when you have to reschedule. read more
