I went online and found an Ortho shoe that seemed to meet my criteria. That online site led me to Gulf Soles so I emailed the owner. I was quite impressed with the prompt personalized reply from Micheal, the owner of Gulf Soles, but due to unexpected health issues it was 10 months before I could come to his store for a personalized fitting. Unfortunately, the shoe I had inquired about was not available. I could tell right off how much he cares about his customers. He apologized and explained about his ortho shoe line and well trained staff I don't recall her name, but the lady who helped me did an excellent job. We went to the foot machine and I was not only scanned but the report was emailed to me, entirely free. It confirmed my larger left foot, higher instep and wider toe box. The first shoe she pulled from the shelf was the exact style and color I had hoped for. The sole was flexible and it safely gripped the floor. She assessed how it fit and then determined the size I needed for that particular shoe. I walked around the store and, oh my, was it ever comfortable!!! For nearly an hour she helped my daughter and I with fitting various sandal styles, offering to reach out to the Venice store or ordering online if they didn't have our size on hand. I left the store wearing my new comfortable Ortho walking shoes and headed for the garden center. I got home 2 hours later after walking about quite a bit. The tieless sneaker style slipped of comfortably and when I stepped on the tile I missed the wonderful cushioned support of that shoe.
