Monica has done an amazing job at implementing these changes and she has been so professional and courteous. I'm hoping that in time, more of the activities mentioned such as STEM and the arts are added as well. One issue that my kids have is that they state it can get rather noisy during homework time which impacts their ability to get it completed. She is a patient, caring, and a supportive educator. She's a great communicator and has a genuine passion for seeing her students succeed. I have personally volunteered in her class and am BEYOND impressed with the way she keeps the student on task and engaged and there is also room for them to take a break when they need it. I love that I can drop my daughter off at 7:30am for breakfast, school lets out at 3pm and that she can be in the after school program until 6pm. The after school program staff have been equally as supportive with guiding my little one while in their care. Lots of stars for ARC-after school program too! My daughter has been supported by every Adult in the school in one way or another and I could not be more grateful. What that does for a parent to know that their little is in great hands while at work is priceless. Principal Van Pool and the entire staff have put so much care into Scholarship Prep Upland inaugural year both into the students and the program itself. Not only do the teachers here go above and beyond to ensure students excel In their learning. But the parents believe so much in the school that there is a tremendous amount of volunteers. I'm sure the one person who had a short, less than a day experience would not be able to speak of the quality of the teachers and program. Students may be Hispanic, but not all Hispanics learn Spanish at home. My English only boys have become fluent bi-literate speakers, readers, and writers.
