WARNING! It's Rare…read moreto find a garage that wont take advantage of a customer. This one was no different, Calling in I asked if they had a part to fix the rear passenger shock mount as it had failed due to wear. A 20$ Item, 3 screws easily accessible, and 10 minutes of work with an impact driver and WD-40. After calling i was LIED to when the front desk had said that the shock i was looking for was fused and the 20$ part unfortunately has to be a 150$ entire shock replacement as well as an estimate of maximum 100$ for the labour. I took his word for it and agreed to the service.... little did I know.... this was not the case. I asked for my old part back and easily popped off the mount from the rubber gasket and made mention that I must not have had the "factory model" he talked about over the phone. Alas, after lying again and saying Mazda doesn't sell it separately, he shortly corrected himself a minute later saying that they do not buy them separately (no need to get it from Mazda, Napa sells the same KYB mount (Mazda's factory shock choice) or dorman substitute). Irregardless charging me 50$ more than the cost of the suspension. valuing his mechanics service at 300$/hr (took 20 minutes in total in/out while moving slower then a sloth) and openly lying to a customer you'd be better off at a Canadian Tire auto service. Heed WARNING to those who do not know different, speed and monetary cost is in the eye of the beholder and this Snake Oil salesman sells a bitter brew of lies.

ABS light is on again now and they said it was not their fault. I tried to ask, if there is something they can do since Nov. 22 I just paid 800$. and for them to say that I have to pay another possible-2-hours-diagnostics 95$ / hour is just a little too much. Quite frankly, I do understand that it is still a business. However, if business provides customer satisfaction which leads to further referrals and I believe that I cannot say that for Japan Auto parts / Transmission Depot. I tried to ask if I can speak to the owner (Bruce) and ask if he can help out. But he was either not present or the staff does not want me to speak to him. Summary : paid 800$ for whole hub assembly that could have been avoided just by replacing the wheel bearings alone. They broke (and admit) that they broke my ABS sensor which they replaced (improperly). Which made them bring my car back in all in the same day. in less than a month my car have ABS problem again (code 1142), and for them to say it is not their fault and it not being related to what they fixed may be true. But at the same time with the track record they provided it is just hard to trust them.

UNMATCHED EXPERTISE & HONESTY - A MECHANIC YOU CAN TRUST FOR LIFE…read more I've never been more impressed with the level of knowledge, honesty, and service than what I experienced at Import Auto Specialist. I drive a diesel German vehicle and was dealing with a serious leak issue. My local mechanic wouldn't even touch it--he told me I needed to find someone who specializes in diesel engines. I drove all the way to Hamilton, only to be quoted nearly $6,000 for a repair they thought was the issue. It didn't sit right with me, and thankfully, a friend referred me to Import Auto Specialist. From the moment I spoke with Jann, I knew I was in good hands. I showed him the diagnostic report from Hamilton, and without hesitation, he told me that wasn't the actual problem. He asked me to leave the car with him so he could inspect it thoroughly--at a fraction of the cost. Sure enough, when I got the car back, it was running perfectly--and it didn't cost anywhere near what the other shop quoted. No unnecessary work, no inflated pricing--just honest, expert care from someone who genuinely knows what they're doing. Jann has earned my business for life. I won't take my car anywhere else, and I've already recommended Import Auto Specialist to everyone I know. If you drive an import--especially a diesel--you owe it to yourself to bring it here first.
