I stopped by Car Stuff on Friday before Labor Day to see if I could get some help with a loud humming noise that happens every time I plug my phone into the aux port on my car stereo. It has been a while since I have been to a place that specializes in just car electronics and wheels. Blinky lights and shiny chrome everywhere! LOL Anyways, Brad the owner was there and helped me understand what was going on and gave me a few options on how to fix it. My stereo has a grounding problem and I could have spent about $50 in parts, but he told me how to fix it myself. I appreciate his honesty and I will try to fix it on my own. Dealt with them for a few years and went back multiple times to try and have them fix their mistakes. They had installed subs, speakers, Sony touch screen and air control touch screen. Everything was installed poorly and loose. I had to go back and replace all the speakers due to poor installation. The sub was never secured and got that fixed the second time. The air control touch screen was installed properly and I have never been able to control my air. The lead tech couldn't fix it unless I buy the factory one for him to redo it(is what I'm told). Honestly, if you can YouTube it. You will be better off doing it yourself than using Car Stuff. read more

If you give this place a bad review its obviously you not them. Ive been buying car audio from these guys for 20+ years(smart shoppers) and I can tell you they know their stuff. And their main line of audio now ( focal), lets just say wow. I replaced all 6 of my factory with them. Going back in a day or so to get the amp. To top it all off, the way they treat you is second to none, they arent pushy salesmen, but they will tell and show you what the best is. Had subs and amp installed a few months back. Thought everything was good until my airbag light on my dash popped up. Other problem was my car kept on dying. Took it back to them and they tried to clear the code and didn't work. The light was never on before I brought it to them, they claimed no liability even though they're suppose to warranty their work. Tested the battery and they said it had a dead cell. Cool, bought a new battery and it was still dying. Gave up and went to the dealership to figure out why I had the code. Turns out, all of my fuses were in the wrong spots in my fuse box on my passenger side, which is why the airbag light was on. They said whoever installed my subs and amp did a terrible job putting the fuses back together. They also said the reason why my battery died in the first was because the amp was on 24/7 even when my car was turned off which caused the issue in my previous battery. Took my car to xtreme auto sound to get the work redone and didn't have any more issues afterwards. I've spent hundreds of dollars just to fix the mistakes this place inconvenienced me with. I've took two of my previous cars here before to get subs and amp installed as well as other work done with no issues years back. Maybe it was a different installer back then. Would not recommend!!! I thought they had done great, but I was wrong. I had wheel lights put on my truck, done been back twice to get the rubbing sound fixed. Started again so I took it to another local shop and come to find out they had not installed them like they are supposed to be installed they just had pushed them over the brake rotors instead of taking the rotors and stuff off. So, with that being said they were kind of egg shape instead of round. So, it costed me over another $400 to get their mistake fixed right. Left holes in my floorboard for wiring without sealing them back. I am not keep taking my truck up there for a quick fix. Not to mention they messed up to of my wheel tpms sensors that I ended up taking to Dodge to have repaired for another $250 dollars. Also, my vehicle coming back to me smelling like weed each time. I will not be back. Would not recommend!!! read more

The new radio was put in quickly, and it works, but that's about it. Because my dashboard is all scratched up and chunks taken out of it, and my little hatch at the bottom can't even close now. In the end, I paid an extra $100 for labor, when I could've done it better myself, it would've just taken a lot longer. Everybody was really nice and knowledgeable though, I'm just going to have to go to a detailer now to get this fixed. read more

One star is being generous. We arrived well before opening because it's first come first served. We were third in line. It took 5 hours for them to service 3 cars. They WERE short staffed, but made no attempt to relay that information to the customers. When the owner was asked how much longer something would be, she was extremely unprofessional. There's a lack of communication between the front and back of the business. If a problem arose with your service, you weren't informed properly. Had a new head unit bought and installed hear in my beautiful Toyota Tacoma Gen 3 and they kept my OEM bezel/plastic trim that fits in the dash around the head unit that retails for over $50.00 and I didn't realize it until afterwards and when I went back to get it they all played dumb. Didn't have the wiring harness to connect my steering wheel controls and said I would have to come back to have it installed when the part came in at NO CHARGE but, when I came back they charged me $250 installation fee. In the end I caved, I just wanted it done and over with. Will never give them my business again because they stole from me the first time and robbed me the second time smh read more

I have visited more than a dozen times for advice and have purchased things throughout my years of visiting and it doesn't get better than Car Stuff. This family-owned business doesn't mess around when you say you're on a budget and looking to do it right the first time. They will get you squared away. Some call this place the promised land (I heard it twice and thought it was funny and true I couldn't omit it from my review). I had a car starter installed recently (a head unit installed on my previous vehicle). Both experiences were fun and honest. When I had a concern about the distance my car starter could reach, they did not hesitate to stand with my opinion and make things right. While educating me on the car starter I purchased they looked at options they could get for me that would work better. This conversation was after I paid and they didn't ask for another dollar. They fixed me up and made sure I was excited about my purchase. These guys let me hang out while waiting for the installation and I got to learn more about cars than I knew before walking in. Car Stuff needs to be on the top of your list if you love your car and expect customer service that serves you. read more

Most unpleasant experience I've had in a while. I asked them to attach 1 wire for a backup camera to my backup lights (I already wired the entire system for a new head unit). They added a wire that left my backup lights on all the time and drained my battery! After the $40 I spent for that, they had the gall to charge another $35 to fix it! Stay away from here! In response to Brad, I no longer have the vehicle from my posting since the work had been done 8 months prior to his speedy response. Before I get to the bad I'll say they are super nice people but my issue did not get resolved with them. Got a new vehicle and wanted it to sound good so a friend recommended car stuff. They were fast and friendly. They recommended every option they had and I chose what I wanted. The problem occurred soon after. One, after turning my truck off my subs "if turned up" would vibrate like crazy. Two, i kept getting speaker wires fall out. Three, my subs were hitting the floor. Now I did buy my own box because I had to get it fitted. They fixed it after I brought it back. When I did bring it back they never fixed the subs from turning back on after the truck was cut off. Said I just need the turn the speakers down before walking away like WHAT. Umm ok, can I get some money back please is what I was thinking. Fast forward several months and my friend from the neighborhood witnessed my subs cut on and immediately pulled out some rem wire and fixed it. Asked me who installed it and said they did it all wrong. Should have went to him from the beginning. Lesson learned but yall sure are nice folks. read more

My daughter brought a radio from this car stuff and they were suppose to hook it up but what ever they did was a bunch of crap no usb dvd didn't work and neither did car play paid 700 dollars for that...so she had to go paid 900 dollars to have what they did to her SUV fixed .....it is ridiculous that she had to spend that much money to fix your screw up...Terrible service on a 2014 Escalade read more

I stopped in at car stuff early on Saturday morning I was having a lot of static in the radio both am and fm. I didn't have a appointment so I thought I would have to hang out for a while. once they looked at it they made several suggestions to get it taken care of and started the work. So to try and make a long story short after at least 9 and I mean 9 visits I ended up spending over 700 dollars 2 new radios 4 new speakers new antenna . (including cutting 2 new holes 1 in the fire wall 1in the fender) new back up camera.so after all that I thought I left the shop for the final time I immediately still continued to have static in the radio. after I ended up taking it to a real auto specialist on old Bardstown Rd it ended up that the problem was the antenna connection wire was broken. In the process the service guy inquired if I cared to share who had done the work I did not. but he said that he had never seen work done so poorly.when I finished he gave me pictures of the stuff that he had to fix because he told me that they were fire hazzard .so I took the pictures and the receipts back to car stuff to talk to Brad because for some reason I thought he deserved to know and did not expect anything because they never take any responsibility for anything especially once they already have your money.when I walked he asked me to follow him to the shop because he was busy so when I showed him the work order he glanced at it and just started screaming at the top of his lungs on and on for at least 3 minutes. SO TAKE HEED STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU CAN .AS LONG AS YOU LET HIM SELL WHATEVER JUNK HE HAS LAYING AROUND ITS ALL GOOD BUT DON'T EVER QUESTION ANYTHING. YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THANKS.
