This all led me to book the hall for the reception at my September wedding. However, personal problems led me to have to cancel my reservation. Per the event contract the hall got to keep the deposit, but anything else was owed back to me. I canceled in April and was told two weeks and I would have my refund. Three weeks passed and still no refund. So I called again and got no answer. After so long a time and not hearing back from the hall, my mom tries her luck, but she also gets the answering machine. The man we met with finally calls back. He says they are behind in their finances, but that I will definitely have my money in June. Skip ahead it is 3 weeks into June and my fiance decides he'll call to remind the hall and he, in turn, gets no answer. 6 days before the end of June my mom gives it another try and gets the answering machine again. After threatening to report the hall to the Better Business Bureau the man says he will have my refund back to me within a week. Tomorrow (Wednesday- July 1st (mind you he also claimed I would definitely get my refund back in June)) is the end of that week and yet I still have no refund. It is beginning to get very frustrating. This is why Lake Anna Hall earned two stars from me. They are nice at first impression, and though I don't know for certain if you do not have complications they might not be a bad place. However, if there is ANY reason that something AT ALL may arise where you have to cancel, reschedule or otherwise... I would reconsider. They have been giving us the runaround for almost two months now and I certainly cannot honestly recommend this place to anyone.

The venue is beautiful in itself, even if you didn't bring one decoration the ambiance from the fireplace and wood flooring with marble tops on the bar are just a rustic dream. The bathrooms are spacious and very clean, very high ceilings, and the whole venue is just perfection. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a venue to check this place out first!

A wedding Nightmare. If I could give a 0 I would!!…read moreDo your research and read her comments back to the people who have reviewed her and the venue. You will hopefully see her for what she is...Shelly is a very horrible business owner, she is unorganized and a completely dishonest person. She has no business running a venue of this size. Multiple things went wrong with our wedding. But most importantly She ran out of liquor(of all kinds), All wine gone before dinner even started. She served warm beer the entire night. She ran out of spirits and juices. She literally had no cups at 9:30pm for water so they took away the water container!!! When she was called multiple times during the night she refused to pick up the phone. Bartenders refused to call her for us. They all knew this was a huge issue and they didn't care at all!! It really should be a crime to collect money before events and they have no repercussions when they can't give you what was promised. I could go on and on the multiple things that went wrong with our wedding. All I can say is book this venue at your own RISK and good LUCK if you do bc you're going to need it. Also make sure to get a SOLID contract that she can't wiggle her way out of. She will of course say you'll get it at a later date. DO NOT IGNORE THE RED FLAGS because the space is so beautiful.
