Of course the candies are gonna be a little on the expensive side, some of candies look too good to eat, and it is definitely a tourist attraction, so it is expected. I believe it is called "Sweet Life". I am giving this place 4 stars because it is a clean, looking candy shop with a ton of variety. I don't understand the 1 star reviews. It is a pricier candy shop, because it is in the heart of the tourist zone, and there is nothing else like it. If you don't want to pay the prices, don't go. So strangely enough Prague is also known for its sweet tooth. No i'm not talking about the annoyingly omnipresent Trdelnik, which are absolutely EVERYWHERE in the old city. If you want open flame roasted dough spun on a metal stick then filled (cannoli style) with ice cream or gelato or "pudding" there's about 400,000 stands and shops to get them in Prague. Funny they are not even a Czech thing. Now candy on the other hand...gummy. marzipan. sours. taffy. hard candy. that's a real thing. And at Captain Candy you feel like a real pirate of the high seas scoring a vast booty of sweets. Did I want to find a review I could use the word booty in, yes. But it works. The candy is displayed in large replica gun powder barrels or chests and all kinds of pirate like nautical stuff. There's honestly every flavor or shape or size of gummy or candy product. We filled a couple bags, got a few rare things we only get in Europe and we weighed it, paid, and snacked our way around the sightseeing of Prague. Candy is a must, score some booty. It's 88 CZK for 100g which will get you like 4 pieces of candy lol. I walked in and got excited about a few attractive- looking candies, paid 188CZK (and was so surprised like wtf! I only had a handful of candy) and was not amused when I was trying the candy I had gotten. All the gummies tasted the same tbh and I got like 4 different ones, plus they were very hard to chew. Pricey place for candy but the store is really well kept and there are some interesting flavors for things like sour belts and my favorite, chocolate covered or candy covered nuts. Tried the cola sour belt, lemon covered almonds and the vanilla and chocolate covered Brazil nuts as well as tiramisu nuts which were DELICIOUS with chocolate that literally melts in your mouth. In addition, the chocolate is in generous portions and one of the first stores I've been to that offered chocolate covered Brazil nuts! read more

I was in need of something sweet and went to captain candy. I sampled many different sweets and to my surprise.... all gummy's had the texture of petrified whale blubber and could not be digested. Generally I seek to find the positive in all things but in the end the best I can think of is at least I didn't crack a tooth. I would suggest not purchasing any candy here and spend your money elsewhere. Also for all of you petrified whale blubber lovers out there, I would suggest consuming the captains breakfast which is a gummy that looks like a cracked egg and was supposed to taste like peach but turned out to taste like absolute regret. read more

Ridiculously expensive and you just realize it after you are told the price in the cashier's desk! The price per kilo is hidden somewhere in a wall drawing and of course this is not a price you expect for a candy. Don't even think about filling up the big paper bag (which is the only choice you have by the way). I find the selling tactics very dishonest and I am pretty sure there must be some CZ regulation against it.
