Getting approval for our loan and the company's preparation of closing documents took an enormous amount of time! Finally we signed on the last day of our Real Estate Purchase Contract Agreement, but it turned out documents had been prepared with the wrong closing date, making all documents invalid. Thanks to our Realtor going to bat for us, the documents were redrawn and we did close but with only minutes to spare! Overall, we found the loan process frustrating but figured ours was probably an exception and not the rule. When our daughter and her husband wanted to refinance their home recently, we recommended they work with a local lender. Because of his reputation, we recommended they talk with Shane. A few frustrations were encountered by them as well. FIMC didn't lock her in on the first day, even though they had said YES to the loan, so by the time they did the lock a few days later, the rate had increased. The "loan file" changed hands multiple times and as a result she was asked to submit the same documentation multiple times because of it. (We also had that same type of experience with our loan!) Days would go by without her questions via email being answered or getting a response to messages left by phone. Within a month after contacting First Security Bank loan department and a hassle-free experience, their loan was approved and they got the type of financing they desired. I commend Shane for contacting me regarding my review and wanting to set things right. Maybe our experiences were just difficult cases beyond their control. I guess time will tell.

When the seller's agent called him to discuss our credentials, and strength - Eric picked up the phone immediately and went to bat for us - which likely made a big difference in our offer being accepted over 8 others. Something I also feel speaks to the kind of service that Eric provides, is that he has the heart of a teacher. He helped my husband and I understand and feel very informed in our first home purchase. I was truly not expecting such a kind and informative broker - but Eric wildly exceeded our expectations. Furthermore - Grant, our Loan Officer/Coordinator was a rockstar. Received the WORST possible customer service from your agent ERIK AMES. He was very rude, arrogant…read moreand selfish. I applied for the refinance 3-4 weeks back. For the first 2 weeks there was NO RESPONSE from him. Then I sent him a reminder and only then he started working on my application. Even then, he MADE MISTAKES in the application (wrong loan amount, rates, etc.) for which I asked him to make corrections. He then SUDDENLY BAILED on my application (4 weeks already into the process) giving excuses that I am not valuing his time and that he has other clients. By then I had already invested a lot of my personal time into the process with this agent and was taken by complete surprise. He also ACCUSED me of FALSE allegations just because I asked him a few simple questions to conduct my due diligence on the clauses that I was signing up for, to which he gave WRONG answers. He used HARRASSING language such as (in his words on emails to me) "I'd have fired you if I had 0 loans in process" and "You're inability to understand the process is evident despite how many times I've explained it to you". He used INAPPROPRIATE HASHTAGS for me in his emails such as #entitledbrat #growup #byefelicia and even mentioned that I am following "flimsy standards and morals" in my job. I have worked with many lenders and brokers before who have been very professional but Erik has been the worst. I feel sorry for his other customers who have to work with him. I am glad I saw his true colors early and now don't have to deal with him. He exhibited unjustified bias, unprofessionalism, and harassed me with false accusations. I don't know why he chose to personally attack/target me. I would request Washington First mortgage to take immediate action on this, because no other customer should go through what I have suffered.
