Even the reliable chain Spoons deli cafe closed down at Garden City after about a year. There just didn't seem to be the right market for a gourmet deli in outer southern suburbia. Plenty Continental Deli has proven everyone wrong. I've been going to this deli now for the past two years, admittedly at first in an effort to help a new foodie business, but as their business grew it genuinely became an excellent purveyor of delicious foods. The business owners are both knowledgeable and adventurous with their stock and carry a huge range of olives, cheeses, salamis and ice creams. They're not scared to experiment either. Last year, they started selling gelati in cups but replaced it a few months later with a bakery section. These days, they've extended their bakery section to include Roman baked goods out the front of their shop on weekends. This is also a great place to go if you want to put together a food hamper for a gift. There are some excellent Turkish delights, chocolates, mixed nuts, oils and dressings. Service can be a little slow at times, especially if you get stuck behind a customer wanting different types of meats and antipasto. It's great if you're happy to browse but it can get frustrating if you're in a rush.

Many times I've just gone to Plenty for inspiration and ideas on what to make for dinner. It's hard to walk out of there with only one thing though. Best deli in Brisbane by far and I feel so lucky that it's part of my local shops!

I particularly like the summer fruit, especially mangos and you can pick up a whole bunch for a very reasonable price. Plus they are mangos, so I would pay more for those tasty treats anyway. The staff are genuinely helpful and friendly and the range of fruit, vegetables and deli items are a great standard.

It's also next door to a butcher which is super convenient. There are all the fruits, pasta's, cheeses and sauces you could hope for. Plus it's a pretty convenient location, on the way to the city if you're going out and need to take anyhting. I didn't notice that they cut their own meats or cheeses, but once again next to a butcher so you may have that sorted there. The staff are friendly, the shop was easy enough to get around, and I was able to buy some fresh flowers out the front. All in all a nice place to visit and next time I feel like a nice tapas plate I'll be going there.

They also have a cheese fridge. They have an ATM inside and also have seating available. They sell a range of fresh sandwiches for lunch as well. The ladies behind the counter give great customer service and have always been helpful. I have to travel around 45 mins to an hour but it's definately worth the drive! The meats are top quality and fresh as well. I definately rave about this Deli to my friends and would recommend it to those who know there meats and don't have a good deli or those who want to try something new and freaking delicious.
