We replaced the carpet in our 2000 square foot basement after we experienced some flooding due to all the rains Omaha got this year. He and his crew tore out all the pad, carpet, glued down new tack strip and prepped for the install. Then laid the carpet in half the basement one day in order to allow us time to move the furniture and other stuff back outa the way to then lay the carpet on the rest of the basement. Then came back a few days later to finish the job. We trusted him to be in our house while we weren't around, the mark of a really trustworthy contractor. They also did a great job on the stairs as well (including fixing a very annoying squeak). Can't recommend enough, they did a great job for a fair price.

We went with a water-based finish for the new and existing floors. It looks outstanding! While he was here completing the larger wood flooring and refinishing project, we had him install LVP in a Jack and Jill bathroom and in a basement bathroom. I have mixed feelings about D & J Flooring, but at the end of the day the negatives outweigh the…read morepositives for me. I hired Jimmy and Dan to do most of the flooring renovation on a home I purchased in July 2022. They installed tile in the kitchen, laundry room, wet bar, and 2 bathrooms and pergo in 2 living areas, dining, office, hallways, and stairs. They also tiled a shower and installed fixtures and a shower door in the master bathroom. The good: Most of the house looks good. Color matching was excellent. The bad: This job took substantially longer than I was assured it would at the time of the bid. Jimmy and Dan weren't the most considerate in coordinating with other workers we had in the house, impacting their schedules as well. They also weren't great about cleaning up behind themselves, leaving trims that had been freshly painted dirty when they were behind schedule rather than cleaning to the standard it was when they did the work. At one point I called to ask when they would finish the main bath and was informed it had been finished for a few days. When I asked about backing board, tile, and powdered grout I was told that they must have "forgotten" to clear those items from the shower. The ugly: Areas of the house were damage. My master bathroom was completely painted (by another company) with white trim attached and looked gorgeous. However, D & J initially "upgraded" the backer board in the shower without telling us or asking that a thinner shower door be ordered, and when they had to undo their work they left unsightly cracks and dirty trim in its place. In the kitchen they raised the floor so that the stove was no longer level with the counter, not saying a word about the change until I complained. Other concerns: There were a lot of materials left over. Some of the delays were to order more materials but with what I have left at the house I have frequently wondered whether we actually had what was needed on hand and Dan and Jimmy lost track of where they were. In addition, over the past several months as we have unpacked from moving into the house (after work was finished) we have found several items that D & J said we "ran out of" in substantial quantities, primarily in the garage. Combining the leftover products with the height disparity in the kitchen and shower door width raises questions about how experienced they truly are. At the end of the day I don't think that D & J are bad people, but I do believe that they are very disorganized. I would recommend them for a single room but not for a full house type of project. I do have concerns that the issues I encountered may mean that their work will not have the longevity I expect but for that, only time will tell.
