I generally prefer to deal with local companies as opposed to big national chains when I can. However, after my recent experience with Capobianco's florist I am regretting my decision. In fact, I would avoid doing business with Capobianco's Florist based on my experience. On Feb 13th I called into the shop to cancel a online order placed earlier that week. After not receiving my credit, I called back on Wednesday, Feb 18th and was told it would be taken care of. On Tuesday, Feb 24th I called a third time to find out why I still had not received my credit. Normally it takes 1-2 days to receive a credit on a credit card transaction. Yet 11 days later and I still do not have my refund. Now I have to call my credit card company to dispute this credit card transaction. What a complete disaster. read more

Called to inquire about renting a white wicker peacock chair for a shower. I had a few questions. Woman was agitated and rude. When I asked whether they clean the chair before renting (as it is outside all the time and IS covered in fine dirt), she said it really wasn't dirty. I had looked at it on Friday (door was locked, no one answered my knock) and then she told me to go somewhere else!! Never use again and will not recommend to friends for flowers or anything else! read more

Truly the worst florist experience I have ever had. I called on Friday to order a bouquet of pink and purple roses and peonies for my grandma's 90th birthday. I was assured it would be no problem for delivery the next day. Mid afternoon on Saturday the flowers still hadn't arrived so I called to check in and the woman said she had misplaced the order so forgot but would get the arrangement out ASAP. 30min later my grandma let me know the arrangement had arrived but when she sent me a picture it was nothing like we had discussed and full of filler flowers meanwhile I was charged $120. I called back to see if they would be willing to fix it and was yelled at on the phone about how there were plenty of pink flowers and I was charged appropriately. The only thing that she could do was go back and take the flowers for return which she said would be "extremely embarrassing" for me. She blamed Mother's Day shortage of pink flowers when she went to the flower store even though she had told me 30min prior that she forgot about the flowers. Anyway I said to pick up the flowers for return and the ONLY good thing I can say is that she did process the return immediately. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS FLORIST!!! I ordered a "deluxe" arrangement based on the "standard" photo posted on their web page. I paid more and received less then what I ordered!!! I called and was told "I knew you would call me". I understand prices and inventory are off but the arrangement that was delivered at deluxe price does not even come close to acceptable. When I asked for a price adjustment I was told absolutely not. She had so many excuses and offered to send Lily's over at no cost. This is a gift! How crazy and rude!! The standard arrangement has at least 8 roses and the one sent had only 6!!!!!!! She said her website states that costs are up and inventory is low, but skimping on an arrangement is definitely not the way to handle it! Terrible terrible terrible!!! Shame on you!!!!!! This is the most unprofessional business I've ever encountered. After ordering through their website, I received an email that said, "we are closed on Sunday, your flowers will be delivered Sunday" (image attached). I responded asking for clarification and didn't receive a response. I called today and was informed that the flowers would be delivered on Monday. When I said that it would be past the birthday and I needed to cancel the order the husband and wife informed me that they wouldn't be able to reimburse me for my order until Monday. When I told them it was unacceptable to NOT reimburse me for an order that they can't fulfill until Monday they then told me to call my credit card company to make a fraudulent claim. They said they couldn't reimburse me for an order I placed because they were going to a family celebration. This is a business and I am shocked at how unprofessional this whole exchange is. If I could give this place zero stars I would do that. I placed an order for my job on Friday afternoon to be delivered on Saturday. I never received an email saying there was a problem or a telephone message on our office service. My work emails go to my phone and since we are a law firm we have a live answering service picking up the phones when the office is closed. My boss informed me today - TUESDAY - that the recipient had not received the flowers yet that were supposed to arrive on Friday. I called the number which doesn't even have a proper machine. It sounds like your calling a cell phone and I was disconnected twice. The woman who's name came up and Katerina or something like did call me right back but she proceeded to tell me that she tried to email me back saying that she would be away for a few days and the flowers weren't going to get there but she advised me that the email bounced back and therefore I never received it. I also never received any calls or messages from her. Not only is that extremely unprofessional but her attitude was astoundingly unprofessional. She actually asked me "so what are we going to do about this?" I asked for a full refund. The fact that it is now Tuesday and this woman made no attempt to contact me makes it obvious that she had no intention of delivering these flowers or deciding in good faith to cancel the order. I passed this little flower shop on my way to work regularly. I completely forget this year for valentines day to order roses, so I figured I would give them a shot instead of the local grocery store! I thought it would be a long shot considering it was already valentines day. To my surprise, Katerina was so accomodating and able to fit me in to what I figured was a super packed day already! I recently needed to send a hospitality gift to my finace's mother for putting us up in NY. I live in SF and have always been wary of flower arrangements that I cannot approve myself. Also, I often wonder if flowers even get delivered half the time. Anyway, I called Capobianco's because it was fairly close to the recipient's house. It was about a four minute conversation, which made me a little nervous. But, my worries were put to rest when I received not one, but THREE phone calls from my fiances mother saying how beautiful the arrangement was and how it lasted forever. And, it really wasn't that expensive considering the size and quality of the arrangement. Highly recommend Capobianco's. Talk to Katarina--she apparently hooks you up. read more

I ordered flowers online for my mother in law's birthday. We were away on vacation and when I got back I found out the flowers were never delivered. My credit card was charged, but I never received a phone call to say anything was wrong with the order. I called when I found out and spoke to a woman named Caterina. She looked into the problem and found that the address I put in was incorrect. She then preceded to tell me how it was my fault that there was a problem and I said that I was very concerned at the fact that my credit card was charged but yet no one from the shop called to tell me there was an issue. All I wanted was for them to send the flowers but this woman Caterina continued to be extremely rude to me on the phone and tell me that she did call me, but yet I got no missed calls or messages. This is a terrible way to run a business.... fighting with your customers. At that point I just asked for a refund which she gave me, but I will never do business with them again. read more

If I could give this establishment no stars, I surely would. I went online to order a small arrangement from this establishment. It was to be delivered on Saturday because they have no service on Sunday. I found out from my brother-in-law that it was never received. So when I tried to phone this morning it went directly into a voicemail and you had to leave a message. This went on for several hours. I finally was able to reach the proprietor but only because I kept trying to call. Not because she phoned me. She began to say that she didn't have the flowers available that I chose. And when I asked why didn't you phone me? She said she did and couldn't reach anyone. Well I have no missed calls from her. Then she made up an excuse about a computer problem she rummage through her computer orders and couldn't find it. All of this was not done with the sympathetic tone of voice. I felt like she had a little bit of an attitude and was not very apologetic. All in all at least my credit card was never charged. But I would never choose this florist. TOO BAD I CAN'T GIVE NEGATIVE STARS.....Ordered the "Deck The Halls Tree" to send to my mom who has been hospitalized for more than a month so that she could have the spirit of Christmas. What arrived was a spray of greens, in a big circle with red carnations, absolutely NOTHING like what was pictured. The basket is dyed red and leaking red all over the table of her hospital room. When I contact them at the florist, to discuss my displeasure, the florist announces to the the rest of the Flower Shop "this is the last time that I make this arrangement" as she begins to chastise ME, the purchaser that it looks just like it. Apparently, your rule with substitution is change ALL OF IT and don't make it look anything like the original picture. Stay away - BUYER BEWARE. Unfortunate that I can't add pictures. read more
