Did a college tour with my Daughter, wife and the one who is choosing where he will continue his…read moreeducation my grandson. The campus is huge 1,347 acres and I felt like I walked every inch. It is an impressive campus with a diverse community of students and faculty. Our campus guide was a sophomore, she was an adequate enough guide. We were able to see the Terps baseball team practicing and getting ready for next season. This is a Division 1 (D1) school, the top echelon of school sports. The football stadium ranks up there with a few NFL stadiums. The stadium seats 46,185 and if you're into college football you know that doesn't include standing room. As we traveled from building to building there were so many students encounters going about their daily routines, students in classes, students studying in lounge areas students lifting weights, students working out and students just relaxing in the lawn. Once again I was impressed with the 8 libraries on campus. The school is in the process a building new dorm buildings and the few they have already finished look very impressive. Now the older ones not so much. A lot of the older ones had window ac's and again a lot didn't. This tour was very informative and my grandson was impressed however he's still weighing his options. He had already toured 2 other universities. Also the ride from NY to College park Md. is 4 1/2 hours so not too bad of a drive.

At the University of Maryland College Park, we made a lot of memories that we will cherish forever…read more There is a lot of roud work all the time, but the campec is clean and nice.

I do not recommend this unorganized mess of a college to anyone especially if you're using post…read more9/11 benefits They can't even be bothered to update their site to reflect if there will be bad weather Housing...please that's a joke They'll say you don't owe a balance But even it's time to move in...you gotta pay $4000 before you get your keys No this isn't what should be expected going to an hbcu...

Bowie State University is a gem of a school right in the heart of Prince George's County. If you…read moreare considering college, pay them a visit to see it for yourself. I have come to events on campus many times over the years, but my most recent visit was eye-catching. Significant resources have been poured into the campus as new buildings and grand refurbishments and renovations continue apace. This should be the norm for all HBCUs around the country. It is a testament to the value the state places on its universities, although the level of investment pales in comparison to College Park. The quad is the envy of other schools, some with higher endowments, tuitions, and budgets. It is big enough that it feels like a university but still small enough to feel like home. My favorite feature/building/concept is the Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community (ELLC). Home to students who want to be entrepreneurs, here they live (brand new dorms), eat, and learn (classrooms and other spaces). There is a business and creative synergy that is self evident all throughout the space. I took a cohort of school age mentees for a tour and lunch at BSU. They were over-the-moon about the Student Center Dining Hall's food and modern decor. The food choices included fresh vegetables and fruits, custom made salads and bowls, hand crafted pizza, grilled to order items, and high quality rotating items from a self-serve bar. The seating area had huge windows where the sunlight shone through. The academic and recreational buildings were top tier. But what struck me most was the energy, passion, and intelligence of the students and faculty. They treated my mentees like little brothers coming to campus to learn from older siblings. The students seemed supportive of each other. D9 organizations got along too., but the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc. always raise the bar. Bowie State University should be proud of the work they continue to do and the student needs they continue to meet. Five stars easily earned!

I've only heard good things about Kaplan. However, if Tesst College of Technology is somehow…read moreaffiliated with Kaplan I want nothing to do with the two!!!. My story begins with Kevin Beaver (DOR-DOA and school President) of Tesst college...of Beltsville, MD. He invited me to a group interview via e-mail which stated the interview would take place on Thursday July 23, 2015 at 6:30pm. However he closed the e-mail stating "see you on Tuesday". I called to confirm that the interview was indeed Thursday and NOT on Tuesday. He did not reply!!! (please be aware it is clearly written on my resume that I live in south Florida). It took me one day and a half (along with over 4 buses plus a cab) to arrive at the campus. I got there by 12noon. The staff at front desk were nice (I don't remember her name) however, I believe she contact Mr. Beaver to inform him of my early arrival. He didn't show his face until 6:30pm. I guess that's okay, I was 5 hours ahead of schedule and I waited until 6:30pm when everyone else arrived to conduct the group interview. And so began the group interview- According to Mr. Beaver, his phone number being on the e-mail was an ERROR. He did NOT want any phone calls. He stated the received all the messages. However, he refused to return anyone's phone call!!! In his own words he stated that he wanted people to "find their way". Then he continues by saying he only has 5 representatives on his team and he is only seeking to fill ONE position which was all the budget would cover (understandable). However, he invited 37 people from all over the United States of America with the intention to fill ONE!! position. And fails to mention this in his email. After a brief overview of the school, he immediately stated it was a Sales position!! And, after that it was obvious he was seeking a Sales Rep. -he repeated a few things I mentioned when he requested we all go over a brief description of yourself. -but did not mention my name for what I believe was the second part of the interview. I was furious!!! Not that I wasn't chosen for the position and or second interview. But, I am not a rich person--as of yet. I spent a lot of money traveling to Maryland from Fort Lauderdale for someone that is seeking to fill only ONE position. Today is Friday, July 24, 2015 @ 8:37pm and I'm still trying to make my way back home... It's obvious that Mr. Kevin Beaver has No concerns for people... HE IS ALL ABOUT SALES. "Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction." -Erich Fromm
