Those in the market for a serious jewelry purchase should include Touch of Gold in their shop-list…read more This place is a longstanding, family run business that provides an array of dazzling jewels for special milestones. Classic wedding bands, diamond rings, necklaces, earrings and Rolex watches adorn the store's inner glass counters. Its a small but mighty shop, as it seems to maintain traditional essence of "serious jewelry", yet also offer up some playful cuts and stones. (Think pink diamond!) While I'm not quite there, I can appreciate Touch of Gold's eye for elegance and its mixing of traditional and unusual designs.

I spotted this store and thought it would be a good idea to have a look. When I walked in, I had an older lady approach me. She seemed so helpful and eager to sell me their product. I wasn't 100% sure that what I was buying was what I was looking for. Anyways, I bought it and regreated it right away. I felt I spent too much money on it and wasn't sure I liked the pattern up against my wall when I got home. Anyways, apparently their return policy is 7 days because on the 8th day, I tried to return this (never used) and I was shut down. They literally hung up on me when I called. I was devistated by the lack of customer service. It was almost as if she was just looking for my sale....once she got it, I didn't matter. I will never shop this store again!

Or as my husband would say "it a place for hippies." They had lots of cool sterling silver jewelry from Thailand. The prices were quite reasonable too. They had lots of earrings and bracelets in the $10-$25 range. I really didn't look at much else in the store, but they had beads, wooden knick knacks, pillows, and clothing that looked like they were from Nepal, Indonesia and Thailand, among other things. I loved these kinds of stores in my middle school and high school years, but it's not quite my aesthetics anymore, with the exception of the jewelery, because I still love sterling silver, it's the most suitable metal for my colouring. I had a great time browsing their large jewelery section. I almost bought the cutest bracelet, but it was a tad too big for me :( Staff were very nice. I always stop by when I'm in Halifax to poke around a bit, and be reminded of my style as a teenager, lol.
