Today I went to the Potomac Village branch to get a bank check from my account to deposit in another bank. 1. Filled out the form and signed. 2. Gave drivers license which they inspected for signature and then photographed. 3. They requested that I insert my ATM card in the machine and enter my pin. 4. They called the main bank to get authorization for the check. 5. The main office texted me a code which I gave to the teller. 6. The teller and main office wanted to know why I was taking out the money and what it would be used for. 7. I left after wasting 20 minutes of my time. Absolutely ridiculous service. By the way have been a customer for almost 50 years when they worked out of trailer in Chevy Chase. I'm going to move my money out now. read more

Horrible customer service. Extremely slow in getting things done. Also obnoxious workers- after I waited 20 min to get something that should have taken 5 min. as I was leaving the teller called after me in a sarcastic tone, have a nice day..." I'm a long time Capital One customer but I'm thinking about pulling my money out. Chase is around the corner and has much better customer service. read more

I have banked at Chevy Chase and Capital One for over 30+ years. I am seriously thinking to move all of my money out of it now. It is all about their executives who set the direction that not serving customers' interest any more. The staffs are friendly and competent. I knew many of them. One of them was promoted to VP long long times ago before the Rockville Town Center was developed. The Capital One is not interested in serving retailer banking any more. read more

Worst Capital One branch in the area. So difficult to get in and out of, hard to find the entrance to the lobby, ATMs are outdated and don't offer bill selection, and drive thrus are crazy narrow. They've been doing construction on the lot for a month now, but nothing has gotten better. And so weird that the entrance to the lobby is on the opposite side of the building from the parking, but there's no signs directing you where to go. Saw another guy and myself go to a dummy door facing Falls Rd that does not work and has no sign telling you to go around to another door. ATMs only give out $20. Every other Capital One has ATMs that offer bill selection. If you need to use a drive thru ATM, use the ones facing River Rd as the ones facing Falls are stupid narrow and hard to enter and exit. Go to Cabin John instead. No drive thru, but better parking, entrance and ATMs. read more

I wasterd 45 minutes with a John to check on a CD and he couldn't understand nor spesk well. I keep telling him the same thing over and over again and he was just looking at me . this branch has two men working in it and they both are useless. This branch needs to hire competent staff. I left after an hour without any resolutions. Sad read more

It's a small and tidy branch which I always use for my banking, including business banking and sending international wires. Have been over 15 years with this branch. Always pretty quick service, polite and curt, handy for people who value their time. Many tellers and cashiers somehow know my name. Never had any problems with any transactions. They just finished the construction including the updates to the parking lot and ATM. read more

This is the epitome of the worst Customer Service I've ever experienced. I'd like to give them Zero Stars but this app doesn't have that option. There is no resident manager and therefore the "inmates are running the asylum". They are rude, incompetent and do not care about their customers. They are understaffed and arrogant. I am leaving at the end of the month, pulling out significant funds and emptying my safe deposit box. Your money isn't safe. They make mistakes with accounts and addresses tied to them and don't give any explanation other than "don't worry". That is not sufficient. I could go on but don't want to waste any more time of them except to say - STAY AWAY!!! read more

I'm a longtime Capital One customer. The people at this branch were useless. Despite coming in to have some account assistance, they basically refused to help at the branch and said I have to do everything online. Worst customer service I've ever encountered at a bank. While I'm not a fan of Capital One Bank's customer service team on their 1-800 #, this branch location in particular is the ONLY reason I continue to bank with them. It's your quintessential neighborhood gem, where every employee knows your name, your family, and you are guaranteed to have such a warm experience that no matter how bad your day is going, you will walk out of there with a huge smile on your face (and a lollipop, if you're lucky!). My family and I originally set up our bank account when this bank was the local Chevy Chase. Once it changed hands and it became Capital One, everything started to go downhill. The services changed, the passwords I had on my account were no longer active, and it seemed like no matter who I called, everyone could only say "no" to anything I wanted or needed. Then one day, I gave up on their customer service team and walked into the branch. Something I should've done so much sooner. The manager Matt sat down with me personally. He listened to all of my frustrations and immediately took action. While he didn't have to do this, he refunded every fee I had been charged for using a different bank's ATM over the past however many months. He also made sure I had the right account for my banking needs and even reinstated the password protection I had with Chevy Chase - which is something their customer service reps refused to do. Another issue I had was the limit on my cash withdrawals during the day and despite being told by customer service that it would be IMPOSSIBLE to change my limit, Matt looked at my funds and my banking history and doubled it. If you're lucky enough to live near Potomac Village and this is your home bank, forget customer service and stop in whenever you need anything. Everyone here is so helpful that it really puts a small-town feel on a nationwide bank and makes you genuinely enjoy your banking experience! read more

Do not expect good service from their employee, John. His customer service skills are severely challenged. From opening a new account to seeking an explanation for his mistake, he could not have been less interested in making the customer (me) a priority. read more

The staff at this branch is very expert and give wonderful service. I was planning a trip abroad and they assured I understood how to use the cash withdrawal card and when to use the credit card, and how to use the password. And they suggested that I test it all on the bank machine in the lobby, so they could be sure I was comfortable with the processes. I prefer dealing with the friendly staff rather than the outside machines - it does put a smile on my face. And they have lollipops for customers! read more

Worst customer service by far. Never enough tellers and management always seems to be on the phone. If there's a line it will get longer before they do anything about it. I waited for almost (10) minutes the other day while everyone was at their desk looking busy or on the phone. (1) teller during a high volume time.After the line became 4 customers the manager stepped behind the counter. I figured great my wait is finally over. Nope. She preceded to take care of the drive thru customer who just pulled up. Oh that's right we are in Potomac where the snobs get taken care of first. Will never return to this location ever....... read more
