Depending on how the hairdresser feels that day, you get a very good , or very average cut…read more i agree with one comment below: on one occasion, i had a lady cutting my hair.... I wasn't sure she knew how to cut hair: i ended up coming back , asking for another member of staff. Also she did not wet hair at all!

Perhaps one of the strangest Supercuts locations, it is located on Chester's St Werburgh Street,…read morebasically, next to the Cathedral, which is a slip road off the city's main shopping area, this is a place one would expect to perhaps find coffee shops and bars, so finding a hairdressers here is interesting, they sadly don't make the most of the location as it's hard to see the Cathedral from inside and impossible while you're having a hair cut, the poor construction of this store is a wasted opportunity of a hair cut with a view, which could give them the warrant to charge their high prices of £14.95 for a dry cut, I mean they might get away with this in large cities such as Manchester, London and Birmingham but charging that in the centre of Chester is just expensive and poor. The high-end prices didn't give me high-end treatment, I would even question if my barber was actually qualified to deal with men's hair (both staff members working were older women), she didn't even use any water on my hair when using the clippers to make it easier to cut (Every other barber I've been to has used some water?) The gown type sheet to cover me from hair also seemed useless, I'm not tall nor overweight and it didn't cover me, I ended up getting covered in hair especially as my hairdresser kept knocking it (the hair fell on me), which again isn't ideal. I was also confused why the staff needed to take a lunch break, an hour before closing when I was the only customer there as they seemed to time the break for as soon as a customer walked in; they also had to take my name to register me on their system which again I couldn't understand, I only wanted a hair cut! High prices and poor overall service is the reason Supercuts is failing (They recently entered administration) and the Chester branch here shows that more than most. 1*

I've only had my hair done here once and the service was good, my hairdresser listened to what I wanted and I was happy with the results. When I told her that the last time I had my hair dyed the bleach took literally hours to stick before the red colour could be applied, she immediately suggested a new dye that didn't require pre-bleaching. The colour came out vibrant and beautiful and it didn't take too long, so I was very impressed. The beauty therapist here is called Esperanza whom I see fairly regularly for waxing, although she does do make up, nails and massages as well. She has professional manner and is always friendly and courteous towards me. I've always been happy with her work.

I had a haircut & perm on 25/10 and they chemically damaged my hair…read more The perm seemed fine when I left. I waited 3 days but it pretty much went away after the first wash. Or better: some sections were straight and some wavy. A mess! Soul Hair offered to try and fix my hair with a treatment, which I appreciated. The stylists were nice, and one of them fixed my haircut too. However, the treatment just wasn't working. Vitina, the manager, kept telling me to go back "one last time", which turned out to be extremely time consuming. Still, my hair would go back to that new state after washing it. So, since it clearly wasn't working, I requested a refund for the perm. At this stage, I was happy to pay for the haircut because I felt they had at least tried to fix the initial problem, and I thought I could just get it fixed elsewhere. When I went to a different salon, however, they tested my hair (at Soul Hair, they never did) and told me they couldn't perm it because it had been chemically damaged: the last part had been conveniently left out by Vitina. I'm now stuck with horrible hair for a year as I'll have to wait until the "permed" section grows long enough to be cut off AND I'm gonna have to pay for a bonding treatment (at the 2nd salon, as I'll never let SH touch my hair again) to help my hair get healthy again after the chemical damage. I sent SH an email to give them a SECOND chance to fix this: given the long-term chemical damage to my hair, I now felt I was owed a full refund & compensation (perm, haircut, & covering the treatment to repair the damage they caused, even though according to sollicitors I'd be entitled to at least £3000 in compensation for damaged hair). This was on 12/11! I sent follow-ups and tried to call to speak to Vitina, but I kept being given conflicting information by the staff. I only got a call back today after specifically requesting a WRITTEN reply. NOT ONCE has she apologised for the chemical damaged her salon caused to my hair! Instead, she said the other salon didn't know what they're talking about & it was my fault for not accepting the treatment they offered me for free. I DID accept their treatment... until it was obvious it wasn't working and they didn't know how to fix my hair! But also, of course I wouldn't let them touch my hair again, by that point: they had already chemically damaged it and applied a pointless treatment multiple times! I tried to explain why I felt I was owed compensation, but Vitina told me she didn't wanna have an argument over the phone (even though I wasn't shouting or being disrespectful) and that I was either gonna give her my details for the perm refund right there and then or this was gonna get sorted another time. I asked her how much money she was gonna send me. VITINA LITERALLY IGNORED ME and kept saying "What's your sort code?" whenever I asked her. "Please, can you tell me how much money you're going to send me? "What's your sort code?" ... three times! Never have I felt so insulted and humiliated! If that's the way she deals with complaints, I can totally see why she'd rather avoid a written reply for accountability. I was about to start crying after being treated so poorly, so I just gave her my bank details but did mention I would have escalated this if I was only gonna get the refund for the perm. I gave them 3 chances to fix this properly before writing this review, but I don't think ANYONE deserves to go through what Soul put me through, nor to be treated the way Vitina treated me. I can't stress this enough: Vitina has been an absolute nightmare to deal with, and her salon has caused me a ridiculous amount of stress. I was left in tears after the way she spoke to me and literally ignored or talked over me over the phone when I was asking her specific questions. I mean, who does to a customer who went through all that?! Not only am I now stuck with damaged hair for at least a year, but she hasn't given me proper compensation (beyond the perm itself) nor has she apologised ONCE for any of this.

However the finished product was nothing like the picture and an actual disgrace to the professional hairdressers around the World. When the error was pointed out, the manager flipped from nicey nice to absolute horror. Making several snide remarks, which upset our girl so much she went into an autistic meltdown. Disabled people should be treated with dignity and respect and their opinions should be listened to, and valued and not made to feel like they do not matter.I am absolutely livid and would advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs.
