The Principle was one of the worse she would harassed us, split in my face I was 10 at the time, We would go to school hungry and the rich students would laugh at us when we would get sick in school. Daily the rich would laugh and mock us saying your poor and don't have a father... Most of the Nuns would encouraged the rich students to laugh at the poor students and push them , trip them, not allow the poor to participate in events. One day the principle came into my classroom called on my name -- made me stand up and said what is a verb, I said I don't know she keep repeating it and told the class several time s to yell-- what a verb is, I continue to say I don't know == just so it would stop--- but she continue to tell the class to yell to me-- what a verb is ;;;she did this to every person in my family ...My brothers warned me about her.. I remember a first grade NUN took our 6 grade class to play ball --as I was walking down the stairs she screamed at me saying you walk behind us not in front-- this was after some of the rich girls pointed at me and said that's the poor girl we dont like her.....I stopped and let them all pass by with smirks and smiles on their faces---I waited a few minutes to go outside and the NUN yell again and said you stand near the back fence away from us so I did As they began playing hand ball I stared at her from a distance and she hit the ball with her hand and ran around the bases as she approached the home plate she slid on the ground and her face slam into the drain spout blood everywhere the rich girls crying helping her inside...I stood the 20 minutes just waiting before going back into the school .This was a satisfied day for all the torcher they did to my family Sister Angus was the only NUN that was not mean to my family. there are so many stories that these nuns did to my family too much to write about

Pelican Place has inconsistent and troubling discipline practices along with an uncaring and…read moreunresponsive staff. For example, if a child misbehaves at school, he or she will be sent home regardless of the circumstances. This practice is not outlined in the school's discipline policy and not covered during the orientation process. Most educators will agree that sending a child home for minor discipline infractions reinforces negative behaviors and refuses the child's right to an education. The staff at Pelican Place is extremely unresponsive to parent requests for information and input. In one attempt to address this issue, the director of the school berated a parent and threatened to call the parent's "commander" because he serves in the military. This came after the same parent called everyday for a week with no returned calls. Another parent reported being denied access to observe her child during class by a member of the staff. She was told she would need permission from the director who never returned her calls for access. Four children's parents have removed their children from the 18-person school from September 2013 to November 2013 because of issues concerning the staff and the discipline policy. This concerning pattern does not speak well to the quality of curriculum, facilities or staff at Pelican Place. Parents should reconsider enrolling their child at this school and explore other educational or day care options.
