Just Updating our review on Ed's. Just like last year this year we are giving Ed's another 5 star. I think it's affordable, the place is always clean and has the best prizes which are actually winnable, and the employees are fantastic and very friendly. We didn't get to see Ed this year but met him last year and took a photo with the family, He is. Really great guy and I believe he really cares about his business and customers. Last week, my family and I ended up coming to both Ed's locations almost everyday. There are a wide variety of games, and the ticket prices are incredibly fair, much better than most arcades. Brendan was especially great, as he was very nice and fun to interact with and was very helpful. At one point, I was trying to win a plush from a crane machine and it ended up in a bad spot. I was trying so much and it was like that for hours, we even left the one night and came back the next morning to it in the same spot. I was scared to ask if it could be adjusted, but he was comfortable to approach and was eager to do so, even wishing me good luck on getting it! Took my kids here in July to two of the boardwalk locations and got them both reloadable cards with $20 each on them. After a few minutes of trying various claw machines my kids, both over the age of 10, were frustrated because all of the machines were rigged. We watched other people play and nobody was winning anything! While we were in Wildwood I saw a news story on TV about the games commission investigating places like this for ripping off consumers. I firmly believe this place has rigged the games and they are ripping people off. It's a shame because something that was supposed to be fun for my kids turned out to be a huge disappointment. Parents- save your kids some heartbreak and don't waste your time or money with this place. It's a rip off and you are better off taking them to a boardwalk store and spending money on a real toy! read more

We went to Ed's twice this week while on vacation. Both times we won nothing which was to be expected, because we know how crane games operate. We did find the selection in a smaller atmosphere better than other places on the boardwalk that were more overwhelming. Ed's has a good selection of prizes to work towards, and definitely a good selection of games, and challenging machines. However, the second time my daughter was very upset about not winning a Bulbasaur stuffed toy, and I kind of figured maybe it was just because she was late, and tired. However, Ed has his personal phone number on display with a sign saying if you ever need ANYTHING, text him! So I did. I told him how much we dropped in the machines, and how upset my daughter was. I didn't expect to hear from him or anything. Boy was I wrong. That man went out of his way to make my daughter happy. I can't wait to tell her tomorrow what Ed did when she wakes up! My point is that most managers tell you "we are following policy", or "sorry there isn't anything I can do for you". But not this guy. He personally made sure his clients were happy, and shook my hand 3 times before concluding business. I will frequent Ed's arcades whenever I am back in Wildwood, and the people who run businesses back in my hometown of Saratoga Springs in NY could take a lesson from him! I realize that it is a game of chance, but malfunctioning machines that remove the chance to win is a good way to chase away customers. By far THE best arcade on the boardwalk. Not only are the games cheap and affordable, but the skee ball tournaments are a blast! However, what makes Eds special is the enthusiastic employees. Every time I walk past, or into Eds, I hear "make sure to grab your lucky numbers for the drawing". I walk in and Michael is always there ready to give me my ticket. However when I'm playing games and need change fast, somehow Danny is always there to meet my needs. Danny is so kind and willing to chat for a bit about how things are. He is what makes the difference between an arcade and a funcade - Eds funcade. His voice is always up lifting and he always has a smile on his face. You could whisper his name from one end of the arcade and he would hear it from the other. Everyone there is so nice. Oh eds WHY DID YOU ADD THOSE CARD THINGS!!! I'm so disappointed!!! Not all machines have them but I don't like the idea at all. I can go on and on about how much I hate them but I'll focus on the good. The staff is absolutely amazing! Dan and Angel are sweethearts as well as the rest of the staff! They are so friendly and accommodating compared to greedy gateway26. The guys working the floor are always willing to exchange prizes and never huff or puff about it! I love their play until you win machines please never get rid of those!!! My youngest loves them! We always win big at eds, sometimes coming in twice a day! They really treat their customers the right way! I loved coming here as a kid and will continue to come back! read more

My kids dumped $30 in quarters into the crane games and never won a darn thing. I looked around for a while and noticed no one else was winning anything either. Then I more closely watched the cranes as they operated. I could grab the toy and completely lift it up but as the crane got near the top the grip would loosen every time and drop it before it even headed to the drop slot. This was happening on most of the stuffed toy games so I complained to the staff. They tried it and it did exactly as I described and the attendant said "yeh that's not right". He proceeded to give me the toy we were trying for on two different crane games but never tagged the machine as being out of order. So we were satisfied but I later wondered how many other people were getting ripped off this way. I wonder what the NJ Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission would think about this? read more
