Rooms are small but well equipped and very clean and comfy. All we needed for a very reasonable price. Free light breakfast is provided.

We spent the week here in the Beach House and it was paradise. Our own patio, steps onto the beach with a breathtaking view was just what the doctor ordered. We were greeted warmly and brought to our room upon arrival and were on the beach lounging within minutes. The owner, Peter, was always around working on something! It is super clear he loves what he does and cares deeply about his guests. He gave us some great recommendations for eateries (devils purse brewery being my favorite!) and always was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. Each morning from 8-10 they serve a nice continental breakfast. My husband and I were go each morning, eat and then take a nice long walk on the beach with our coffee. The private beach already has chairs and umbrellas so no need to bring your own, they set them up each morning and take them down each evening. The inn is also within walking distance to many great shops/restaurants. We went to many of them! The kite shop was super cool and we were able to grab souvenirs for the littles back home. After dinner, come back to the inn for a fire on the patio! I very much hope to return here. I am so thankful we found this and splurged for the beach house room! You can park at the Inn and walk to the beach to prevent having to pay the $20 parking fee at the beach. You can really see that the owners take pride in ensuring that your stay is perfect. Upon check in, you are greeted by the owner (her name is escaping me), but she is so sweet and explains everything thoroughly - even offered to give us some restaurant recommendations! The room itself seemed to be meticulously cleaned and freshly decorated. It was simple, no frills, but perfect for a short stay. The bed was comfy and pillows were perfect. You can use the rocking chairs on the patio outside to sit and relax. The beach that is nearby is Earle Rd Beach. It's not the type of beach I'm personally used to as it's located on the Bay instead of the Ocean. There are very few waves so it's ideal for kids to swim in. The beach is clean and there is a bathroom located in the parking lot which is always a plus.

It has a great location steps to the beach (about 250 according to the innkeeper), a pool, a newly obtained liquor license so you can purchase drinks, and a friendly staff. It all made for a pleasant place to stay. The included continental breakfast was very nice - it is limited to 8am to 9:30am. A nice selection of yogurts, cereals, bread items, fruit, hard boiled eggs, juice. Also has one of those press a button, get a pancake machine. A couple of toasters, but they toast slowly. Fresh coffee is available at 7am, and Keurig machine is located in the lobby. The grounds are well maintained with beautiful flowers and greenery out front. The rooms all have chairs so you can sit outside with a pool in the center of property. A good idea for the Commodore would be to install a clothes drying rack in front of the rooms since everyone uses the chairs to hang wet bathing suits, towels, etc.. could make things more convenient and look neater. The rooms were nicely updated. The bathroom in our room (125) was very small, but luckily the sink is outside. The toilet/bathtub area's door barely clears the toilet so it feels a bit small - especially if its more than 2 in a room. The in the wall AC worked well, and the white noise it generates help to block outside noise. There was an issue about drinking your own alcohol you brought in since they now have a liquor license. There was sign in the room that your own alcohol could not be consumed anywhere on the grounds. I never heard of this before, but Massachusetts has strange liquor laws so something you may want to keep in mind. I like they have free to borrow beach chairs and beach carts for bringing stuff to the beach - so no need to pay the $20 parking fee to bring a car to the super close beach. Shuffleboard and cornhole games are on the grounds. Harwich is a nice, family friendly town with some nice places to eat nearby, or a short drive to other parts of the Cape. A good place to stay especially if beach accessibility is your thing!

Every single time we visited, the service has been impeccable and I find it hard to think about any other resort that can get even close to Wequassett. The grounds are perfectly kept and the rooms have been recently renovated. And although, there's a trend even with classic high-end resorts (St. Regis, J.W., Ritz-Carlton) to make their renovations a little too modern for my taste, Wequassett successfully kept their old school charm. We always stay at their Signature Water View King rooms (and book well in advance as there's only a few of these) so I can't speak of other room types. The amenities are flawless and even though the main pool gets VERY crowded during summer weekends, the pool attendant always found 2 chairs for us. My only recommendation for this property is to have a backup plan for the main pool. Perhaps installing a deck and adding some more chairs there to accommodate more guests that prefer the beach vs. the pool.

In Sweet Pea, the house Cleaning people were a little bit weird but they did keep things immaculate in the space. And Mother Goose there seem to be never ending problems with the house so we often had somebody fixing the air conditioner. Somebody fixing the upstairs toilet and somebody fixing whatever else was not working around the place. It didn't feel great to have maintenance people around as you're getting your hair and makeup done for a wedding. Did not feel chill bridal time at all. They speak very highly of their food, but they didn't have anything off of their menu that really impressed me. I tried the fresh cod, scallops, apple dessert, and Wagyu steak. Brandon and Angel are a total headache to deal with. We requested to have the gym open early for the day of my cousins wedding. Angel said yes to having the gym opened at 4:45am in the morning before the wedding. I was there waiting -Didn't happen. This pushed back my whole schedule on the wedding day. We asked to pay for the Mother Goose house as a wedding gift to the bride and groom - also didn't happen. I had to discuss the issue with Brandon. No discount no offers of any kind- mind you 3 nights is about 10K. Not cool at all. The wedding planner also seemed to have no idea what was going on with decisions, when speeches were going to be and where to set up the podium for the efficient. The main staff you speak with don't really seem to care and frankly just aren't the type of service you look for in a luxury resort . I'm an extensive traveler and would strongly recommend not to revisit this place. We also got coffee at Sill and couldn't find any place to sit down to drink our coffee and have a pastry. We even asked the host where we could sit and it was outside on wet chairs or in the lobby. The dining room was totally empty and asked if we could sit there and was denied. Also there isn't enough parking for guests. The working driving around on golf carts talking on their cell phones also felt a little scary. The Wequassett staff made a bad atmosphere for the guests paying a lot of money. It felt very unfair between the gym not being open on time to the disorganization of the wedding timeline to getting the bills confused.

(At 11pm) sleeping was very difficult, especially with the door slamming all night. The alley way door kept slamming all night, the smoke detector was chirping all night. In the lobby and our room. We requested an extra pillow at 10pm with no response. (The text greeting stated "call or text at any time" guess not this time) When we spoke to the owner/manager in the am they gave attitude about the late text. Disappointed: the ambiance...very dated furniture, appliances, and attention to detail. After checking in, we noticed there was no shampoo in the room, and the usual Salt and pepper for cooking was absent. We went to the front desk to inquire, and were informed that they only do paper products, not liquid products. For salt and pepper, CVS, down the street was recommended. Additionally, most resorts provide a broom/dustpan to maintain cleanliness-none here! There was a slight sewer smell coming from the bathroom. This was the studio unit, not the townhouse style. We had to bring our own blanket. The location is good, and the room was quiet. During a 48 hour power outage the Resort Maintained power(thankfully), and could not control the noise coming from the generator stemming from the adjacent private property. Our room was spotlessly clean and very nice without being over the top. The beds were comfy and the linens provided were adequate for a good nights sleep. They provide a continental breakfast in the morning that consists of bagels, danishes, cereal and different juices. Unfortunately there was no fresh fruit. Oh and don't worry about leaving Fido at home, they have dog friendly rooms. One slight drawback is that it can be a bit noisy especially early in the morning. This is because the inn is set up more like a motor lodge so parking is directly in front of the room doors. We got woken up before 6:00 by some dude telling his buddy about the "huge fuggin fish" he was gonna catch that day. Perhaps, Handkerchief Shoals Inn is better suited to families that need to be up early to get the kids ready for a day at the beach, but overall our stay here was a good experience. As far as rates are concerned this place is competitive with other Cape Cod hotels and won't drain your bank account. I would consider staying at Handkerchief Shoals Inn for future Cape trips and would recommend them to friends.
