Just recently I had the experience of being in this facility as a patient. I must say that the PT…read moreand OT staff was outstanding. I could barely walk in the hospital within days they had me up and walking. The nursing staff in my experience treated their patients with dignity and there are a few who were exceptional and treated patients as family. There were times when the unit was short staffed but these dedicated nurses did the best they could to accommodate every patient. The nurses aides have the worst job in the facility, and definitely understaffed. Some are young and inexperienced but it doesn't stop them from trying. Sometimes it takes time to get to a ringing call bell but they do their best. As far as putting patients in diapers that does not happen unless absolutely necessary. Patients who are incontenent are checked and changed regularly as I saw with an elderly roommate. As far as medications they are prescribed by a doctor. No nurse can give any medication without a doctor order. If the patient family feels they are getting too much of anything talk to the doctor as well as the nurse on duty. The food is getting better but as with any type of hospital setting it's not a restaurant. So good isn't great. But it is definitely better

My mom at 92 was living with my sister. She has dementia. Very hard of hearing and refuses to wear…read moreany hearing aids. She had polio as a child resulting in a fused sensitive ankle leaving her using a walker. She's a three time breast cancer survivor. She's been a widow for 27 years, and still mourns my dad and wears her wedding ring. When she became incontinent, stopped bathing and pretty much stopped eating, we knew that my sister couldn't keep talking care of her. She found this place Bourne Manor that was literally less than 10 minutes from where my sister lived and had a bed available. We both went in and spoke with a woman that took us on a tour and gave us the rundown. The first floor looked ok. We later met with the medical staff and went over my mom's medical and personal needs. Most importantly that she is Jewish. Not that we expected kosher food, but NO HAM... NO PORK...NO MILK WITH MEAT! Very clear. My sister couldn't get there every day. I live about an hour away, now in Aug it takes me 90min to get there. Initially they said my mom got up, made her bed, got dressed, and went into the social room and watched TV with the rest of the patients. Sounds like my mom, but I doubt it's true. Then she was moved up to the 2nd floor. Why??? Don't know. I went in with a nice friendly attitude and brought 3 dozen cookies for the staff. The next time I visited my mom was in a wheelchair, no more walker. And I got a call that she tried to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and fell on her bum and was bruised. Then I go in and they're giving her ham and cheese for dinner! I threw it. Next she no longer can go to the bathroom. She goes in a diaper and they change it when they get to it. They sent in a male nurse because all of the women took a break at the same time. Every time I go ,I ask if she ate, no one knows. She went in about 100 lbs. Now she can't be more than 90. Yesterday I was there and she was sleeping. I tried to wake her up like I always do. She really didn't wake up. She really didn't look at me. She was mumbling. I couldn't understand what she was saying. Not really sure that she knew who I was. It's been 6 months. She is the strongest person I know. So much tragedy in her life and she pulled through all of it. This place ignores her. They forget to feed her. They made her sit in piss for hours. Where are HER clothes? Where is HER comforter? No one has a f'ing clue, and no one cares. But they sent a bill for 10,000.00 because apparently she was supposed to be admitted from a hospital?!?! Don't remember hearing that day one. Did I mention that the place stinks like piss!! I brought in plugins. They are killing her slowly. Lawyer, Lawyer The only way that this place could improve is to close, clean, and find people that give a shit.

Update: I met with my new PCP, Dr. Ahmed, about a week after my initial visit with a temporary…read moreprovider, and the experience was completely different. Dr. Ahmed was friendly, approachable, and actually took the time to listen. He answered my questions, discussed my medication history and treatment plan openly, and made the visit feel collaborative rather than dismissive. I appreciated his perspective and the time he spent addressing my concerns. I also want to be fair and note that Dr. Ahmed had tried to see me sooner, but I was unable to make the earlier appointment that was offered. My concerns about the original visit still stand, but I said I would update this review if the practice made an effort to make things right. This follow-up was a significant improvement, and I left feeling much more confident about continuing care with Dr. Ahmed.

They have no respect for patients time. You will often wait in the lobby well past your appointment…read moretime and you may even wait in the room much longer after that. They BS about how soon they can schedule appointments. For something you want that they dont care about, theyll have you wait a month, but if its something they want, it'll be in a week. They make new patients wait monthsss for appointments. They pull a lot of the same BS as every medical facility since covid. Its unacceptable. These people deliberately narrow their patient flow. The lobby is often empty. The other patient rooms, empty with the doors open. Most of the nurses are snotty brats. I bet they spend 70% of their time gossiping and filing their nails.
